Same Point

Well, Leo you are agreeing with me then, that was pretty much my point. But, hopefully Disney decides that its game revenue from pirates could become even greater if they put more of the resources forth to ensure better experiences for its customers.

And to the topic, from all these maintenances i never though of game being closed because of infamy because:
1. Infamy is on test ONLY
2.Test and Live are completely separated as if they were 2 different games
3.Plans for infamy to come to live are not set yet

Now a few days ago they had removed servers leading to me thinking that the server removing might have caused these bugs since all appeared soon after the announced maintenances.

And I'm guessing there's at least 200,000 pirates. It's the equivalent of probably 2 million lines of coding, because you have to keep track of a certain thing at the exact same time as 20 other things. Disney works hard, and if a line or 2 of bad coding slips in somewhere, they have to go through most of that coding until they find it, fix the error, see if the game is working properly, if it messed something else up, they have to take it back down, find that error, and make sure the game is running then.

I know most of you play games with less bugs than this, but Disney is doing their best to make this a fun game for us all.

:skull:Yea i know from experience in school, it takes forever to get a code to do what you want and then if it is huge like one of these it will take longer to fix, unless they have something like what we used to tell them where they messed up and even with that it still doesnt all ways help, the code where it is messed up can be anywhere... But by the looks of it they are determined to fix it!

Blizzard is 24/7 on game editing and production. This gives wow the advantage over pirates but its not smart to compare Disney with Blizzard as Disney could buy blizzard if they wanted

Blizzard also manages several different games, not just WoW. Disney has billions, so they have the money to hire thousands of Game developers and not even put a dent in that amount. And Disney has the money to buy Blizzard but it will never happen. If anyone's going to buy Blizzard it's going to be Microsoft or Activision.

So by your logic we shouldn't bash presidents or politicians if we have never been one ourselves. That is faulty at best. Paying customers have every right to bash or criticize.

FWIW, I've defended the programmers at Disney quite a bit. I understand how frustrating it is to work with code. In fact I am a few weeks away from taking my certification test in C++.

I hope they can put the kybosh on the nasty bug pretty soon. Nobody wants to see a full-scale mutiny.

Their servers must be SQL based... they must be!

Their line of code must not be that long because all of this stuff just connects to a database.

They need to clean up their act. Get me my Seafurys guild back! (I logged in and I was still in Black Barts Krewe....... not Seafurys - so if anyone is near a Seafury - let know!) - Get me past Gunner - cause I just finished it, and get me halfway through level 39 - not almost to level 38.

Things need to be changed - and I won't settle for less otherwise I want my money back!

_kaytay_ 02-13-2011 04:45 PM

So am I not getting my entire pirate back?

WoW is a better prepared and more in depth game and it shows in its numbers of people that play the game. 12 Million players is something that is insane. I like that game very much. I think more fun

_kaytay_ 02-13-2011 06:33 PM

I like playing WoW but they don't have a free/basic account. You have to pay to play no matter what.

Well I just logged on for a little bit today and found one of my pirates I was working on, The Baron has lost quite a bit.

He was a level 48 now is a 47 again, mastered grenades, and is now all the way back to the beginning of 29. Plus I had sailing and cannons up to 29 and is now back to the lower 28's.

So I figure I lost about a weeks worth of leveling, and seeing as my playing time is limited as of late, I am so totally beyond the the point of anger! I had to log off because it was starting to make me sick.

They should..... :laughks2::laughks2::laughks2: From the WOW vids, many POTCO things are based on WOW stuff (since wow was released first), but jsut not as epic. I really want WOW designers to give POTCO a hand to make it better.
You guys are lucky.. I want to play wow too... :sadmh9: But it's so expensive...

Nate Treshercaptain 02-13-2011 07:15 PM

If Disney bought WoW then, WoW would be destroyed.
