Note: The screenshots you are about to see are not confirmed ships that will be released. This is all speculation but it's very likely these ships will enter the game sometime in the future.

Here are the modified(barely) player versions of some enemy ships which may or may not be released in the future.

El Patron's Ship: (Notice the player blue/red markings on this ship. This is what distinguishes our player ships from the enemies, at least for now)

There hard to see but you'll notice on the back of the ship there are the player ship markings.

Again I note that these pictures are actually models currently from the phase files, however these have NOT been confirmed by POTCO as ships to be released in the future. Until the next update, enjoy these to keep you thinking.

P.S. Every ship has three classes. There have not been any indications in the phase files which point to any different classes of any of these ships.

EDIT: I apologize for a mistake I made. El Patron's ship type does NOT have any player markings on it, although at first glance you may think it looks like an average player ship.

Nice finds mate! The ghost ships don't really look like they do in game (lack of textures applied) but anyway, good finds! Here is just a little ship of the line I made using panda 3D. Not that good, but it was for fun...

Still though, nice finds mate... I hope the SOTL is released.

Also, the player version of the Black Pearl, I believe it may be an upcoming player ship even though it wasn't released with the original six.

The Queen Anne's Revenge is already the same ship model as the BP, only a lower class, which leads me to believe all classes of the Black Pearl are done. If that's true, then an update like this may be closer that we think.

Nice ships

I wonder if they are releasing ships from both Pirate teaman and Navy/EITC/Jolly Roger that now the might be releasing good and "bad" side? Like when you make your pirate it works for Jack or it works for Beckett/Jolly Roger? :D

It was on test for not that long, but then later removed. It has though been seen on test in some YouTube videos. If you look up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNSB21cmBLw you'll see it there. And all copyright goes to gmjyuir2.

I hope these whips will be released for the live game, they all seem very interesting. Also this may mean we could be getting stronger enemy ships to face, which would mean more content for higher level pirates :3

CarribeanThunder 07-07-2011 05:13 AM

Those hull types look pretty cool, Mac. I wonder if, had I bought the Cerberus, it would look like that Undead War Sloop. If it did, that wouldn't be so bad.

Captain Jorden 07-07-2011 06:23 AM

I was hoping we could make our ships Flag ships too.

I hope so to, I thought that more so when the Bounty Hunter NPC ships came out. They seem to be customized as far as hull and sails go, so hopefully the game devs will release similar customization options for us. Though I don't think player customization will be anything major, probably we will only be able to change ship paint color, sail color and design, and possibly the cannon types on the ship deck since someone found different cannons in the game files some time ago. Just remember Im only guessing here, even if we do get these additions it probably wont be for a long time.

Ship customization is probably going to have to start off small.

I see flag, hull, mast, colors being a key aspect of it, along with flags obtained through quests. We can't forget ship decorations like lanterns and possibly different doors on the ship.

I don't think the physics will be an immediate thing we see with it. Mast placement would affect ship performance so that would take a while but once the developers get used to it, designing ship flags and different colors would be similar to our clothing.

But wouldn't it be awesome on flagships, once you kill everyone on the ship you take over the ship. No paying for it, just half to kill it. But when you take over part of the crew splits, then you have two ships.

I see great potential with flagships in the future.

*Being able to sink flagships or sell them when defeating them. After sinking a certain amount, you can choose one to keep. The "best" flagships would have to be aquired through about one hundred or more ships.
*Paying a shipwright to make yourself a flagship at sea, that way if you're sunk, you have a chance to live if you can fight off the enemy crew. Every time this happens, though, you'd need to pay the shipwright again in order to become a flagship. The more you have to do this, the more money it costs, the max amount of pay being 5,000 coins.
*More extensive flagship battles, specifically flagship battles which take you below deck.
*Quests which involve you becoming a flag ship and disguising yourself to attack enemy ships.

P.S. After looking at the Ship of the line on the wiki, I noticed it's basically complete. The ship of the line is one of six ships that were to be released, so if the other five ships are as far into development as the SOTL, then I think we can expect new ship releases by the end of the summer, at the very least. This is only a prediction, though.

If the player version of the black pearl is released, though, I'd get that over any other.

Well, I could be wrong, but there's still that one wall you can walk through. Other than that, yes, it does seem fine. I can see it coming soon. Hopefully...

WeirdBeard 07-09-2011 12:51 AM

I would try and get both. Of course there coming out, and if they don't, it's not fair, i'd say. They put it on test (yes ik, not on purpose) And people have it.

MacIronhawk 07-09-2011 01:10 AM

I don't know whether the Black Pearl will have a player version for sure but there are two different models of them in the files, one being the one we know and lover and the other being a player version. I already said that the QAR is a smaller version of the BP, so I think it's likely we'll see it as a player available ship sometime in the future.

And don't worry, if any new ships are coming in the future, the SOTL is definitely at the top of the list. For one, the model in the phase files has player ship textures and the flags are white. Besides the invisible hole in the ship, it really is ready to enter test to be... well, tested.(I know it's on test now, but it's not officially released)

I think the developers would like to release six new ships, though, so while the SOTL might be close to release, the other ships may not be. I hope, though, that these ships are introduced WITH Ship Customization. There's no doubt ship customization is possible but it's just a matter of when.
