It makes more sense about them raising the cap level to 70 after the Boss Battle. 'Cause the 2000 point notoriety in crease for L40 pirates? Pointless because they cannot get anymore rep. Weapons will hopefully be 30-35-40 or something.
Rum is pathetic and ridiculous, because.. notoriety rep TAKEN AWAY? AND LEVELS? No way. There would be no Pirate Masters..

P.S. I was looking at the wrong thing...

So you're saying it doesn't unlock at 17?

What is really interesting though, is that now we kinda have a good idea that they will raise the 25 cap, and will provide us with new skills. That's exciting :)

My question: Has anyone spent a point (or more) on it yet?

Angel 03-04-2008 09:19 PM

Nope, its not an unlockable skill yet.

I don't think it's such a bad idea, though anything like it is unlikely to be added to the game. But anyway, using Dead Bodies's idea: Say you are a Pirate Master with all the skills maxed. You've used a skill point on some worthless skill and want to make better use of it. Drink the rum and you get to choose to drop that skill point. You also lose 750 overall rep. and 750 rep. from that skill. Then you just use that skill until you've gained the 750 rep. back and you're a Pirate Master again with all the skills maxed and now you can use that skill point to a different skill. I don't think that would be a harsh price to pay.

The skill is now called Leadership, description stayed the same. I don't know when it changed.

Jack I 03-06-2008 10:28 PM

Probably with the march 5th update yesterday. So, any word on it unlocking now since we know there messing with it?

Marrrrni 03-08-2008 04:07 AM

Unlocked!!

Today on Test, I discovered that the skill is now unlocked. The description states that the skill is unlocked when you have recovered the Black Pearl.

There was an update tonight (labeled March 8th!) which might have released it.

Jack I 03-08-2008 04:15 AM

Hmm, what an interesting catch.

narutocooper 03-24-2008 02:23 AM

Im sailing lvl 12 and theres no "unlocks at lvl something"

KuLaydMahn 04-02-2008 02:19 AM

It's unlocked after you finish the story quest and boss battle with the goliath. I don't know how it works, if you can put more than one point in it, or if you have to invest at all for the first point, but a couple of my friends have said they got it after the boss battle.

Hile 04-02-2008 03:49 PM

You can't put any more points into Leadership and it doesn't take a point to get it. The skill isn't great but it's useful if you want to get off another broadside volley very quickly. It recharges the deck cannons too but those recharge pretty quickly anyway.

Bigpoppadc 04-02-2008 06:05 PM

I had mastered sailing when I entered the boss battle. Ater successful completion, I was given this new skill. I had no points to spend. It appears just as Hile has said, a free skill. Woot! Useful for times when you're battling multiple targets and a Revenant spawns next to you. It quickly recharches your broadsides, full sail, coming about and other skills so they may be used again. It also recharges the deck cannons faster but that isn't as useful because they might not all need them when you hit it. It's not instant but it is a lot faster. It be fun to use this in the boss battle. :fahrzeug122:

I love the skill. I like how my ship glows blue when I use ti too. The only downside to the skill is when u use it, your broadsides recharge much faster, then when the 10 secs run out, if they arent fully charged, they go back to where they wouldve been without hittin the leadership. So instead of being almost fully loaded, they go back down to half when the skill is complete, and build up from there again.
