The math checks out. I hit level 36 earlier today, and it said it gave me 25 hp per level instead of 20, and my max went up by roughly 350. The extra 5 per level accounts for 175 of that.

I got a cutlass level too, and it gave me the standard 8. But the doll gave me 4HP instead of 2. 22 * 2 = 44 HP.

Assuming the staff got the same boost, that's 18 * 2 = 36.

If two other skills also got upped, then that would account for the remainder.

Easily.

level 40 * 25 = 2000 hp
+ mastered cutlass (25 * 8 = 200) = 2200 HP
+ mastered grenades (25 * 8 = 200) = 2400 HP.

And that's not even adding in the HP bonus you get from dagger, staff, doll, pistol, sailing, and cannon, or the 125HP from maxing endurance.

Well, grats for the ability to use your calculator. But where does it leave the fully maxed level 40's then... are we going to get our health or not?

Angel 05-03-2008 07:44 AM

Nope, we get to die faster than the lvl 30s!!!

my friend who is level 40 had 1900 hp 2 days ago....today he now has around 2350...looks like they are trying to do their best to get everyones health that they should be. i guess they cant do everyone at once, but are slowly doing it.

joshephe1 05-03-2008 06:34 PM

he most likely leveled a weapon up

Angel 05-03-2008 07:10 PM

Yeah, I know when your fully mastered your at 2019. Lets see if anyone else thats fully mastered is higher.....

Maximvs 05-03-2008 08:08 PM

Well, pirate #1 is mastered with no extra Points on HP (Cutlass Bonus) and he is currently 1841 - and I just checked and he is still only 1841... (he still needs to master Staff and Gerds though)

So unless the do an adjustment - he'll always be 1841 (or at least until they move the Noriety higher)

Just for info :)

i think the huge health boost is a glitch but they have up'd the amount of hp you get from weapon lvls i went up a cutlass level today and went up 25, grendade 10 and dagger 8, it was a good day for my health bar lol

Yes, it will. It recalculates as soon as you level anything. My second pirate got a pistol level, and gained about 200 HP.

Pistol now gives 7HP per level instead of 5. I'm assuming the dagger gives the same, but haven't verified this.

Well, you asked, I answered.

As to whether you'll get your health or not, it depends on whether you're fully mastered in all weapons. If not, you'll get the increase as soon as you level anything. If you are, then you're hosed unless you submit a bug report and get Disney to fix it. You've got a legitimate gripe, so go for it.

Anything? I finally played yesterday for the first time since the update (not on my computer since I still can't play on my Mac since the update!) to test this health thing.

I leveled cannons from 16 to 17 and my HP went from 1486 to 1792 (I think). So I figured I'd do this with my other weapons to get all I could from this "glitch" but when I leveled my staff from 16 to 17, my HP only went up 1798 (which I assume is the "normal" amount).

So is it a one-time correction or does the "300+" jump only occur with certain weapons? Has anyone seen more than one "300+" jump in their character?

joshephe1 05-05-2008 12:43 AM

it a one time correction to get your health and voodoo to the right amount.

yea the forties i know still have 1900-2000 hp and im only 35 and have 2060 so yea i guess there are benefits to not mastering your pirate ASAP but i think disney will either A) fix this or B) when the next update comes out they will get to the regular hp also i know that some of our guildies beat the BB before it got closed in december and now that the new leadership skill is given those who beat it before it was closed have not unlocked it has disney fixed this?

Altair 05-05-2008 05:17 AM

Finally, after spending like 2 hours with these Disney people, sending in numerous bug reports, looks like they are fixing it.

4 days ago, a live chat guy "escelated my bug report" to the developers, who are now working on a patch to give us normal health at log in (that means everyone, level 1-40).

It is also shown on the "known issues" page. However, how long it takes Disney is another problem. I don't want to spend 2 months with less health than everyone, but at least I know they are trying. I guess I really don't know anything, but whatever.

Good question, it would set the pattern for how they may handle this situation. However I have one thing that may help as things are. Assuming they will eventually be raising the notoriety cap with content additions etc (anticipated this summer), then it would be likely that such 'corrections' that are currently being observed would simply take place at the time of any additional level having been achieved.
Its definately a bummer situation, if it is corrections we are seeing I do give thanks for that, as otherwise all advanced pirates would be losing valuable ground. It would probably be fairer having the whole pirates database recalculated, and not pend a 'level up'.
