It doesnt ban you from the game it just boots you. You can log right back in.

I know alt + f4 does, by boot by doing /time, do you mean kicking you off the game our out of the guild...

It kicks you out of the game. But you can relog the second you get booted.

well the special events are in game still like
Double XP, St. Patty, Fathers Day, Double Gold, etc..

they are just disabled -
perhaps when an Admin issues the correct command it enables that holiday then they specify how long it lasts by using /time

maybe its a branching command
Example: /event DoubleXP /time 03:00:00 (wich would be Double XP for 3 Hours)
