Maybe the issue is the word 'Clone'? It makes it sound like your trying to copy someone (even if it is yourself ;) )

I tested that we have 5 people in the guild with clone in their name no problems at all they all got their names on the very first try including myself.

ok we have updated the first post with info first of all a guide to make your pirate to join the 501st if you want to join then also the first 15 people to join the website which will be given to you when you join get to be a founder on it but hurry 9 spots r open and the founders get a golden name then we will have another event jan 3rd read the post below me for details

There's a long sleeve shirt with brown patches on the shoulders that'd make a good clone uniform. And as per the cartoon, clones had various touches all unique to themself: perhaps some stuff like top hair and various uniform things like a belt could be left to a user?

Aye, im not much fan of the Clone Wars Series but in episode III,
You started to see major diffrences in the clones a suggestion Officers could wear
A special belt or hat just a suggestion :)
