So of course I get off work Monday and Tuesday super early... 11AM Hawaii time. Wouldn't you know that today I have to work until around 4 my time. Everybody cross your fingers that the bosses let those guys do their field day earlier, or I won't be on to 10 pm ish EST. Have fun. Can't wait to find out what the mystery game is. I am intrigued.

Basil Dreadflint 08-05-2009 07:22 PM

This job of your's is intefering with us getting our daily dose of Tandyland. What good is a season pass if the place isn't open? LOL.

Okay, it's late to be asking but I am sooo confused. On the Little Pirates game is the idea to cause wanton wholesale destruction of everything in sight, or to pick a target considerably bigger than you and go for that? If you get credit for every kill where you don't land in jail, how does that work against a team who takes on something twice their level and wins?

Example

Team A takes say 8 enemies, but most are only 4 to 5 levels higher than them.

Team B takes on just two guys, both of which are double their level.

Assuming both teams are level 8 average, how does that go?

Morgan is awake and at Lv 6, he dies easily tho.

Richard Ironskull 08-06-2009 04:39 AM

I should apologize. I had agreed to make maps for the ship tag, but I got caught up in what I was doing, and forgot to finish them. Sorry about that.

I didn't make it to the party either, so sorry for that one too. Girlfriend was in and I wanted to spend time with her.

Anyways, I am sure everything was great. I won't be online until at least Friday evening.

Do we put our scores here for baby Pirates?
Lady Bug / 10 & Rachel / 8 = 18 = *9*
Round 1: 10, 12, 13, 13, 12, 14, 9, 14, 14, 10 / Total 33 pts, 10 kills. ( I count 31. Basil.)
Round 2: 11, 11, 12, 13, 10, 13, 9, 11, 10, 10, 14, 14, 14, 12, 11, 12, 9, 14 /Total 48 pts, 18 kills. ( agree with 48. Basil.)
Lots of fun!! Thanks Bas for a great 250 DW Party!!

Total = 79, by my count. Basil.) Edit!! I will go by your count Bas!!

I missed the Baby Pirates event but was there for the Bumperboats! Nevermind what Sarah said in the screenie. It was supposed to be the other way around. LOL

Thanks for the fun night, Basil! Can't wait to try the other SvS ship games you were talking about last night!

Basil Dreadflint 08-06-2009 12:49 PM

For those of you who STILL haven't figured out the scoring for the Baby Pirates game:
Lyta was level 12, Mac was level 11, which made their average 11.5.
The first round, we went to a BAD place and both ended up in jail, TWICE each. LOL. As such, we didn't get many kills. What we did get was 11, 13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 15, 15, 15. The 11 didn't count because it was less than our average. The 13's each gave us 1 1/2 points, the 14 2 1/2 points and the 15's 3 1/2 points each. 4 @ 1 1/2, 1 @ 2 1/2, and 3 @ 3 1/2. Total for first round = 19 points.
The second round, we did MUCH better, and got 3 level 18's, 2 level 17's and a bunch in the 13 to 15 range. (Better spot and no groggy's.) The second round, we got 61 points. So, our total was 80 points for the 2 rounds.

Does it make sense now?

Also, for Bumper Boats, here is the write up I made about it and how to play.

Bumper Boats!

When we were doing sailing lessons the other week, toward the end of the evening everyone got a little 'Duecy', and started sailing into each other and pushing each others ships around. That gave me an idea, how about combining DW favorite pasttime, AFK pushing, with sailing and SvS? And so, another DW original game: Bumper Boats!

How to play:

The guild is divided into 2 teams/crews.
Each crew is assigned to one of the SvS islands.
Each crew member sets sail in her/his own ship, any type, any size. (I changed this so that there had to be at least 2 sloop class ships on each team, and that once they were in position, they weren't allowed to sail. I figured it gave the teams 'targets' for which ships to push.)
Once you set sail, no going back to change your ship!
Everyone sails their ship to the starting zone. All French ships on one side, all Spanish ships on the other.
The two Judges will be set up alongsides two of the islands.
The starting zone is in the middle between the islands.
The first crew to PUSH an opposing team’s ship, any one of them, past the imaginary line between a judge and their island wins!
You CANNOT shoot each other! No sinking or damaging an opposing teams ships.

For the first try at this game, and since I have no idea how long it will take, we will use KingsHead and Cutthroat. The French island is Cut, the Spanish island is KH.
The starting zone will be halfway between the islands. The French will try to push a Spanish ship between the judge and KH. The Spanish will try to push a French ship between the judge and Cut.
If it goes fast, we can try a second time using the actual SvS islands. If it goes slow, we will call the game after 20 minutes, and whoever has an enemy ship closest to the finish line wins.

SO, it was a little hard to get everyone organized the first time, and in place, and to understand the rules, and a whole bunch of other problems, BUT, I think once it got started, everyone seemed to have a good time.

For both games.

Overall, another great guild night. But I would like some feedback. Do we keep these two games? Either or both. (And yes, I still have a couple of others, or variations of these two, in reserve.)

Don't sweat it Richard. We got a late start, and never even got to play Ocean Tag.
We'll save that for another time.

Thanks Basil, that was a riot! EDIT: HA we posted at the same time Basil. YES I vote keep the games! I'd like to be a pusher in the next one ;)

Post your baby pirate fight numbers here when you can.

Bumperboats was a BLAST! Sorry for the confusion at first...

I loved the Bumper Boats it should definately be added to the rotation!

Basil Dreadflint 08-06-2009 01:22 PM

Forgot to add this earlier:

Congratulations to all of you for reaching and PASSING the 250 membership mark!

Last night was a lot of fun! Just wait to see what I have in mind for the 300 party!

Aliese 08-06-2009 03:05 PM

Here are Jess and my scores:

Round 1: 16, 18

Round 2: 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 19, 15, 16, 16

For the scores, do we use what we started at, or what we were at the time we were killing? For the first round, we were 6 and 11. For the first three enemies of the second round, we were 6 and 12, and for the final enemies we were 7 and 12...

If it's the former, then the first round would be 17, and the second round would be...68.5?

If it's by the levels we were at the start of the enemy, it'd be 17 and...61? Meh, it's too early for math. :tongue8:

Bug 08-06-2009 03:15 PM

I just want to say Thank you Bas!!!! You come up with some awesome games, we provide the hilarious results!! I have a blast whether it is Guild night or just a bunch of us terrorizing the inhabitants of the Carribean!! It takes a lot of effort, imagination & teamwork to make a Guild run smoothly & have so darn much fun to boot! A big Huzzah for our leader & our Officers in Crime too!! Thats what you get for letting Pixies in the Guild :)

JM Ohara 08-06-2009 03:25 PM

Due to annoying in laws, I lost my internet connection during the Baby Pirates game. I still don't know what happened with TK. I do know she managed, the first time I dropped, to kill the rest of a crab by herself. How does that count for her, since through no fault of her own her partner wasn't even there?

Basil Dreadflint 08-06-2009 03:28 PM

It's a game!!!! (Use the levels you started at. If you glowed, that's just a bonus!) And how the heck were a 6 and an 11 taking out level 19's? GOOD JOB!!

Going to jail meant that you weren't using team work, so the enemy didn't count. Losing your internet was beyond your control, so any enemy the remaining partner was able to solo on, still counts.
