That happens sometimes, not just in invasions. Try hitting the ESC key.

Got the jail glitch in tonight's invasion. In my case, Just as I started to kick the door, a little pirate stood in fron tof it, and my pirate just kept kicking and kicking. I tried everything, and had to hit ctrl/alt/dlt to free up. Then, I couldn't get out of the cell, even though the door was open. I had to TP to a crew mate to get out.

I imagine this was the reason D came out with the revive update because they knew the jail couldnt handle massive numbers of pirates landing there at once, the problem is its easier and faster to just go to jail than wait for someone to revive you which continues the problem!
