Sometimes if Im fighting at a high lv enemy, and some low level comes along, Ill tell them that this may not be the place for them, and that they can get killed. I never yell at them to leave though. I do however tell them that they will be revived once, after all, I cant be wasting my tonics!

Also, this brings up another topic. What is a noob? (Yes, I know what I think it is, but what are your opinions?) Many people use the term very loosely, and it angers me...

Jibby 08-19-2010 05:43 PM

It totally bothers me when I'm whacking darkhart's head apart with my cutlass, and some level 10 runs in and taunts him and gets demolished because I normally need the miracle waters for myself, so I have to finish off darkhart, get the loot, and this is all while the guys yelling at me for not reviving him, and then I just won't revive him when he keeps getting killed because he keeps taunting. Sort of a addition to your post, davy.

And the term 'noob'. Well, the fact is most "noobs" are really "newbs" who are newbies to the game, since 'noob' mainly means like an idiot or troll or something like that.

seafox 08-19-2010 05:54 PM

The term noob when it first appeared seemed to mean new and inexperienced....but some people and not all, mind you, use it as a means to disrespect someone....not cool.

Tiberius Fireskull 08-19-2010 06:59 PM

That, Seafox, is a good answer... I believe it evolved from the term, newbie, which then turned to newb, then to noob. To me, a noob would be somebody who just started the game, doesnt really know how to play the game, doesnt use chat, and of course, a crude blunderbuss always helps the image a bit hehe....

Actually I have a second kind of "noob". Somebody (this can be any level) who does know how to play the game, and maybe can play it well, but doesn't treat other players well, acts totally immature, and acts like they are king of the game.

However, Im sure that we were all noobs once! Who knows, that noob you see killing gravediggers today could be a maxed level 50 with the lost sword of el patron in a month. RESPECT EVERYONE! TREAT THEM LIKE YOU WOULD TREAT YOUR GUILDMATES, OR FRIENDS!

Or that little pirate could have a level 50 and lost sword already. Unlimited players can create 4. I have a habit of deleting my smallest and starting over for fun. :cat5:

My guildmates think it is hilarious when people call me a noob when I am playing a baby pirate because they know better.

Captain Jorden 08-21-2010 04:35 AM

Ok than since everybody is saying this I'll appoliguys to a few people that I called a “Noob”. I'm very sorry for that person. I agree!!! People call me a noob thay should take noob off the word list and pm me if you need any help with anything and I'll give you the times I mostly come on.

tayseth 08-21-2010 04:54 AM

I know yell at me and complain but here it goes SOMETIMES if im at the thrall den fighting urchinfists and Thralls a whole guild of people most under lvl 13 come and storm the place they started fighting then got knocked out sent to jail I did not want to revive them because first off they should know its to much of a place for them and they wont stop rep stealing! Some will come back then I would fight a ememy they come and fight so I just stop and wait for the thrall to turn to the lower lvl 13 and knock him out plus they started calling me rude trash and all. There

I tend to revive people once, and while I'm reviving, I tell them that this isn't the place for them, and that I will revive them only this one time. If they die again, and start yelling at me... well cant say I didnt give them a fair warning. Whether its a friend, a guild-mate, or a stranger I go through the same routine. And if you ask me, I think that it is rude of them to just come in, get killed in one hit from a Thrall, demand a revive, get killed again, and keep demanding more revives. Its disrespectful and inconsiderate to the player who always has to revive. It is out of my generosity to revive you, and use one of my precious tonics on you, instead of keeping it for myself when I may need it.

Sorry, just wanted to make my point. To sum it up, I find it rude to constantly die and demand revives, and to call me rude to not revive you after giving you a fair warning.

Okay, there are certain parts of this that I will agree with Titanic. Really low level players (1-20ish) should not be in certain places, such as the thrall hall or darkhart. However, what I do is give them warning, "Hey, this place is too high level for you. You should go somewhere else where you have less chance of dying every three seconds." I'm polite about it, and I revive them. If they ignore me three times over, though, my hospitality goes way down. I will not revive them, nor will I fight anything they fight. If they decide to keep coming back, after I warn them (and I usually warn them multiple times), they are just being rude, so I ignore them completely. That's my view on it.

Rude seems to be the norm now rather than the exception. And that is across all levels.

I wouldn't necissarily call them rude because i find that, most people that are brand new to the game, don't pay attention to the chat or anyone talking to them. If he doesn't respond when you ask him to go away, then he doesn't pay attention to the chat. If he does respond when you ask him to go away, and he says "no" then ok thats rude.... lol

Tiberius Fireskull 08-21-2010 04:58 PM

This is off the current conversation a bit... but it kind of annoys me when I politely ask somebody if they want to join my guild or something, and all they say is: no. I know I know its a little thing, but is it that hard to say "no thank you"? or "sorry, I'm joining my friend's guild"?

Again, its a little thing, but it still annoys me...

SapphireBlaze 08-22-2010 03:15 AM

I just dealt with rude people during the Padres Del Fuego invasion. I got killed, no one revived me, so I went to jail. When I got there this guy kept using his voodoo doll to knock me out. I have no idea how. So, he knocked me out about 4 times and I told him I was going to report him if he did not stop. Then he said he wasn't doing anything wrong, and knocked me out again. I ended up having to turn my computer off, just to get away. >_<

Captain Del 08-22-2010 04:06 PM

My guild and I caught up in an incident right yesterday.

It was right after we did our Victory Shark Fleet, and we were dancing out on the beach of the French Island, having a small conversation and gathering friends for a game of Hide and Seek Tag, minding our own. Of course, this one guild keep coming up to us (one by one, so it seems they have a pattern down by now) and calling us names, saying bad stuff about us, challenging us to SvS, stuff like that. We, naturally, ignore them, but yet they persist. So, I go with my reflex: kill them with kindness. I attempt to start a conversation with them, and they seem like nice people when you get to know them. Everything is all and well, aye?

Wrong. Not even 10 seconds in to our game, one of our guildies shouts out in crew chat that he was being chased around/harrassed by that same guild. So, Del transforms in to Papa Grizzly mode and goes to help our dear guildmate.

I confront the guild, who, naturally, deny that they were doing anything wrong, after my guildmate had told them repeatedly to stop bothering him. I ask one of them to bring me their Guildmaster so I can have a chat with him, but lo and behold, the guy I'm talking to is the Guildmaster. What a way to set an example for your guild, eh?

So, I start telling the guy and their guild off (because once I warm up, I might as well be tearing down islands one by one,) about how rude and immature it was to do such a thing. And what is their GM's response?

"Let's go War Sloop 1 on 1." Yeah.

Now, I was tempted to whip out the VS and send the mate to Davy Jones's Locker, but I was trying to stay away from their level as far as possible. And really, who needs a virtual competition to decide whose the better person. Pu-lease.

In the end, my guild and I reported all of them, and headed off to another server and go do the invasion. Now, I know some of you would disagree how I handled things. That I shouldn't have gone out of my way to teach those mates a lesson in R-E-S-P-E-C-T. But no. I had to do what was right, and stand up for my mates. I'll be darned if I ever let somebody walk over my guild like their simply garbage. It's one thing to stand up for yourself, but it's another thing to stand up for the people you care about.

P.S. Ask my guild and I. Whenever somebody calls us noobs, we respond, "We're noobs and we're proud!"
