I have never seen an issue with jumping at all, you guys are just a bit scared I reckon. Spawn killing was just dumb, but POTCO let the PvP stuff get out of hand way too much before. Not sure if I'll enjoy this enhancement all that much seeing as there are many other games with a much more polished and unique system, but I could try.

It actually takes a lot of skill to be a good jumper. Thats why most of the people who complain about it, aren't skilled enough to do it themselves. I'm not making a personal attack, just voicing my opinion.

Like camping in Call of Duty? :P

And he beat CHUCK NORRIS, so that might be the way to go, right? :D

Back on topic: I'm not that big of a PvP fan, so this isn't huge news for me. However, SvSing with Jason usually turns out good, so this might not be too bad. :P

I assume they are testing the one day lose points, to make sure that it is working as intended.

Captain Jason 02-07-2011 11:46 PM

That might make sense, but they wouldn't need to close it this long.

Well, I'm glad that jumping is harder for jumpers now. Jumping around an enemy and hacking at them randomly isn't fun, nor is it skill. Anyone can go up to an enemy, hold the Ctrl key and an arrow button, and click their mouse button to hit an enemy.

It makes me angry, and any time I play with a jumper I tend to use a broadsword, or silver freeze, and it makes them very angry and I usually get the response of "Noob". No, I'm not a noob, I'm using my skills to counter act your "skillz".

what the heck i cant log onto test its aggravating but at least they are fixing those bugs you guys have been talking about i didnt get to log on and see the glitches so i dont know how it feels for you guys but it sounds terrible there now.

I think the programming team has taken a holiday.

Jamesvsthekraken 02-09-2011 01:29 AM

A long... coffee break maybe :laughks2: Ok, ok in all seriousness hopefully the devs have fixed the bugs and they'll reopen test tonight or tomorrow :/ :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

Captain Jason 02-09-2011 04:37 AM

A week long coffee break? I doubt that...

Meh, there is nothing wrong with moving around to evade an enemies or attempt to keep yourself from dying at all costs. In all reality it is the only skill that isn't complete crud in the whole game. You see, it is not our fault the lag in the game ruins PvP even now. Jumping would have been fine for everybody if the PvP lag weren't so horribly.

Broadsword is a good weapon and all, but I feel as if in PvP it should be bumped down due to insta hit. If any enemy is around you you're going to hit them.

Dolls are complete maggots, you just run and press buttons. While with jumping you have to adjust your mouse and move around which takes a grand amount of skill.

SEAKING23 02-09-2011 06:06 PM

Dolls are very effective weapons, but they can easily be countered. throw your dagger and them.

You act like throwing daggers always works. It doesn't break their attunement each time. I know the tricks to breaking the attunement. Yes it is effective, but as of the new weapon update when they added power to healing and even stronger dolls, they need to sort of adjust the power of such a weapon. It's no worse to jump around than run from your problems.

SEAKING23 02-09-2011 07:45 PM

Its really easy to break there attunes'. dolls are great weapons. nothing wrong with jumping, its just a strategy.

I would still like to know the justification for this however:

Indeed it does, but for people like me who only use the keyboard, well, it's an entirely different matter. Most jumpers I know utilize the right mouse click for fast turning, which isn't fair for people like me, and also defeats the point of the slow duration.

Granted, I would not be complaining at all about that specifically if the slow duration applied to the right-click feature as well.

Broadsword, I will agree with you on. I use only a keyboard, so therefore, I will be a broadsword person forever - it is nearly impossible for me to adapt. I will call you out on freeze though. It is a LEGENDARY item - What would make you think I WOULDN'T want to showcase its power? If a LEGENDARY cutlass had freeze sweep, I would more than bet that it'd be used and abused. Granted, I think that would be said about ANY legendary blade to begin with, regardless of freeze.

Allow me to go off on a tangent and put more emphasis on this - I get complaints all the time about being a freeze noob/broadsword noob - All I can say is that they are the noob for not being able to overcome it. Most of the jumpers I meet just whine because they don't know how to overcome a weapon. *Ohnoes, a <insert weapon that isn't sabre or cutlass here>, I stand no chance, I will never defeat him* "YOU'RE A NOOB IM LEAVING!!!!" *exits PvP*. Those are the people I think this update is for - They really only bring drama and misery to what is supposed to be a very fun part of this game, and then create an elitist sector of players, creating no leeway for anyone else in PvP. It really is discouraging to most other players. And yes, I've heard much worse than "YOURE A NOOB IM LEAVING!!!"

Granted, I am not going to discredit all PvP players with that - I have a tremendous amount of respect for quite a few, and I dare say, find them aspiring in the PvP sector. The ones who truly know how to overcome ALL weapons to me are the ones who make PvP fun. I remember playing against a basic-access person in Abassa who used nothing but cutlass. I was unlimited with freeze and broadsword. He didn't complain ONCE, and even ended up winning by one point (think it was 17-16). Afterwards we both complimented each other, good game, etc., etc. THAT kind of person, is the one I'll feel sorry for with this update. Sadly, I don't see those too often.

/end rant.
