I started playing the game 3 days ago and am looking for a good guild to join as well. After reading your posts, etc. I feel you are the best I've seen.

My character's name is pending and I believe it probably won't be approved:

However, I'm sure I'll be given something else.

My character is:

Notoriety: Lvl 8
Cutlass: Lvl 6
Guns: Lvl 5
Ships: Lvl 5
Everything else: Lvl 1 or lower

I currently am commander of a Light Galleon but am saving to purchase a Frigate in the near future.

hey, can any BTTB member tell me what to do with a guild code i recieved from one of your members?

If it's within 48 hrs (I think they expire...), open your friends box, click on guild, then guild options. There you should see something like Redeem Invite. That's where you put in the code. :)
