yes they want our opinions but yet they dont even inform us of whats going on

Perhaps they've stopped supporting Test for now, but when they release something they'll open it back up. I don't know, thats very strange that they're doing this. Could have something to do with the rumor that they'll stop supporting the launcher soon, but I don't know. Anyway, I'll see if I can shoot them a quick email soon to see whats up. Its very strange of them to just shut it down and not even give us a loading screen notification.

Test still refuses to load. I get the "retrieving version info" bar that runs
for a while and then stops.

whiskey 04-20-2011 07:12 PM

they would tell us if they killed it forever, right?

Jamesvsthekraken 04-20-2011 08:57 PM

It seems very odd. Either they're fixing it or adding a big update. :/ :bookishfj7: :piratewheelgo2:

o.0 They expect me to play through my browser? Oh that won't go over well...

Anyways, in regards to test, I don't have access (despite 3 years of nagging them for it) but I've come to rely on the test update posts here on the forums in order to keep up with what's going on in-game. I'm feeling quite neglected by Disney at the moment. =(

Sent in an email... They replied:

Ahoy Isaiah,

Thanks so much for contacting Pirates Online regarding your Test Server Account.

At this time our Pirates guests are not able to login to their Test Server Accounts. We are aware of the situation, and are working diligently to resolve this issue. We don't know exactly when they will be back up and running, as we want to ensure that all the bugs are fixed before doing so.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you in the Caribbean again soon!

Stay savvy,

James

At least (I hope) we know this is a bug, not a Disney-doing-this-on-purpose kind of thing.

SEAKING23 04-21-2011 01:03 AM

Why would POTCO (not D) do this on purpose?

Nate Swordwalker 04-21-2011 02:06 AM

I tried getting on today and it said 'Jolly Roger has cursed our site!' I read a post on here somewhere.... Somewhere... But I am hoping that it is for a new update and not just to fix a bug.

EDIT: I go bored at work. Here is the same site page converted to 3D. Use your nifty POTCO Red/Blue glasses. Might hold us over until test comes back...:psmiley35:..Maybe not though.

This makes me all giddy inside ( giggles )

Tiberius Fireskull 04-21-2011 06:55 AM

I doubt something new is in the works, unless it is really, really big. When they close test for updates, its usually for just a few hours, and no more than a day. Test has been closed for what? A week? The only update it could possibly be is.... THE KRAKEN! Not really. But if it is closed for this long for an update, it'd better be something massive. I honestly think that it is either a bug, or what I said in my last post about them not supporting it except during testing times.
