There is one more factor that needs to be considered when the question "Will there be another Pirates of the Caribbean move movie?" is asked. If enough money can be made out of it, and as long as they have Johnny Depp to play Jack Sparrow, I could almost guarantee that another movie will be made.

But Pirates doesn't stop at movies. My bet is that at some point in time an animated series based off of Pirates of the Caribbean will be aired.

Thank you for posting this. I agree with most of your points. I think that an animated series may happen as well.

Pirates 4 is almost definitely going to be made at some point in the future. A smart move would be to release it in 2010, alongside Toy Story 3. Two of Disney's biggest franchises. It'd be a killer box office summer - better than 2008's is going to be for Disney, anyway. "Yay Prince Caspian >_<"

I wouldn't think that they would. As they said, potc at worlds end was the last chapter. Unless they changed their minds, there will not be a potc 4. They pretty much made potc3 the ending of it all because as you can tell at the end of the movie it turns out to be like the end of it all.

Actually Johnny Depp was the only one that DID want to do another one. I think there will be another one but probably not for another year or so.

Edit: Oh my bad, didn't read the last part hehe....

I thought and heard something about a fourth movie, since the last part before the credits seemed like a begining (Jack Sparrow and Barbossa's map of the fountain of youth thing) So I think there might be and I heard it won't be made or start to be made until 2009 or 2010 to give the actors and actresses a rest since they made 2 and three at the same time.

I feel there will one way or another be an addition to the story. Because the end of the 3rd movie, with Will-Will Jr (XD)-Elizabeth in the credit scene and Jack in the final scene, it's setting up another movie.

Johnny depp said he will be in the next pirates movie if they have a good script but keira knightly says she probably won't because she has been doing it since she was 17.

There will pobably be a 4th flick it doesn't need the turners maybe their son. And Disney can easily generate the money for making the movie think about it. They have a theme park,Movies,DVDS,Video Games,2 poular MMORPGS. nd All they need for a fourth movie is Jack Sparrow. As long as the next movie has marty im happy.

There's so many questions unanswered that I think it would be TOTALLY doable to have a POTC 4 and have it be as fresh as the first three. Somebody mentioned a prequel to Black Pearl - THAT would be awesome. We know Barbossa at one point was first mate of the Black Pearl, before he lead a mutiny against Jack - so how did Jack and Barbossa meet?

And what ABOUT the tale of Bootstrap Bill? I think that in itself would be a great story, just from what we know so far. It's apparent that at one point he was a great pirate, as he has been an intrigal (forgive my spelling) part of the story line from day one.

Then there's the Black Pearl itself. In the first movie, so many stories were told about it (crewed by the damned, so on, so forth) How did this start? It's the fastest ship on the seas, so I'm sure there's a great story to it's beginning.

I also wouldn't mind if they delved into the story of Calypso and Davy Jones.

And then there's good ol' Jacky. The son of Teague Sparrow, a pirate feared by the Brethren Court, the Keeper of the Code. What of our mysterious captain? What of those stories of Singapore that is hinted? Why did Sao Feng hate him so much?

So. I say make TWELVE more, lol.

That being said, and adding to the nine thousand rumors, the Aqua de Vida? Rumor has it their will be a National Treasure 3 based on...the Fountain of Youth.

This could be tricky.

However a friend of mine and I talked about how neat it would be if Nicholas Cage's character goes to the fountain of youth and finds Jack's pistol or Barbossa's cutlass. :)

Not to mention they could add alot of stuff from the games. What if Barbossa and Jack come face to face with the Jolly Roger? With the awesome job they did on Davy, could you IMAGINE what they could do with Jolly Roger?

:skull: i think a prequel would be the best way to go, they will prolly have a hard time getting johnny depp back and he is getting older and is probably more worried about getting that coveted oscar than having a big box office success. i could see them getting a young actor to fill sparrow's and barbossa's shoes and go from there. there are alot of things we dont know about jack's past, like how barbossa was his first mate and why he led a mutiny. but with the success of the last three, i am nearly positive that disney cannot step away from the franchise and will continue to make pirates movies. i would love to see it. correct me if i am wrong but when i went to disneyworld as a kid i think i remember something about the fountain of youth on the pirates ride. :skull:

ok if they made a foe it would be jolly roger they would hunt for fountain of youth the dutchman could be involved with young will sailing with big will and old bill they could be fighting off the remains of the navy and the eitc

Yes, and it is highly recommended that you stay through the credits to see it. Unlike the amusing but unnecessary bonus scenes at the end of the last two films, this one is actually relevant to the plot and presents options for a continuation of the series

The screenwriters (Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio) are gung-ho about another one, and want to start writing a script. However, they say if there is to be a fourth one, it shouldn't be expected for several years

possibly they have tied up loose ends.. but that doesnt mean there cant be more later.. as I recall it was mentioned that Jack was headed to search for the Fountain of Youth at the end of "At Worlds End"...

could there be a story about him finding it.. then using its immortality properties for Elizabeths benefit.. as she;s only able to see her true love once every 10 years? sure its possible.. but its not technically a "loose end" that needs tying up.. afterall there wasnt any "loose ends" at the end of "Curse of the Black Pearl" either
