One question for anyone that will answer, where do I go to report bugs for the test server?

I haven't reported bugs in a while and I'm sure the feedback option doesn't get noticed a lot.

Also, I logged off of test and it won't let me back on. It says test is closed... again.

Yep test is closed for maintenance!

Site is closed for Maintenance, I wonder if they CAN fix it. LOL

I do love watching the chaos its causing, and I'm still leveling even though I only have my rusty cutlass.

However, I'm getting really mad at some peoples attitude on test. I'm sick of hearing them say how mad they are over this bug. Are you serious? Get off of test if this bothers you! And don't complain non stop about how unfair it is... GRRR!!!

Test is back up... Question is, Does it work?

Looks like my pirate dig get hit by the magical big BACK button... I had leveled her to lvl 17, but shes back to 15. Which is where I was when the update occurred.

I am able to put clothing on and off, move my weapons around, and all that jazz.

Test is back and i hear inventory back to normal

Mine is saying "Server appears to be temporarily unavailable, still trying..." Is everyone logging in at once? Hahaha

Mine says the same thing, and then it says you have been disconnected from server. Ive been trying for over an hour. Guess some of us arent gonna be able to log on. :(

It seems as though the whole test server was reset. HOWEVER, I think this completely fixed the inventory system.

I started moving things around in the inventory system just for the heck of it, and everything is working completely fine. I mean, perfect.

Of course, I was a level 14 from leveling today, so I'm back down to 13. But it looks like reseting the whole game worked. Now aren't we glad we have a test server? If this were open, this would be a nightmare!

EDIT: Now I wonder what could have caused the inventory to get so messed up.
By the way, when taking a card(or possibly another item) from a loot chest when docking will cause you to crash. As said in the release notes.

Same to me and it is about 8 am eastern. Wondering what's up now... Is it Windows can't get on and Mac can now lol

I was on last night and almost all was well. On occasion, my "weapons belt" would show no weapons after I switched them around but I could access them if I hit the "F" keys. Taking them out and putting them back was a work around. I reported it. Other than that, everything was as smooth as silk.

I got reset but the release notes say that the problem came from a Sea Charm. If you placed one of those in your "weapons belt", you were doomed. Fix the curse of the sea charm, reset back to the pre-update save file and TA-DA...back in business baby!

Now. Was this a learning experience or what? Here's what I have learned from the Great Inventory Destruction of 2010:

• A couple of people I play with also come to POF and post.
• Some people on test don't know why they are on test.
• Some people on test think that it should be just like Open.
• Some testers have NEVER filed a bug report.
• Some people are VERY forgiving and patient.
• Some people are VERY unforgiving and impatient.
• Being a tester is sometimes a thrill ride.
• People on POF are quick to offer assistance when asked.
• This update has made POTCO fun again. For me at least.

Anyway, feel free to add yours.

And that is more than likely why Test is down. They have stuff to fix, and with the possibility of resetting test once again, why should they let people continue playing until everything is done?




I couldn't agree more. I especially like the last one about the update making the game fun again, for at least some people. I think you also summed it up perfectly in another post, the update makes leveling seem less like button mashing and more like treasure hunting. When the update was put on Test, going around looking for treasures (among other things), I leveled quite a bit. It actually helped a lot, considering I used to be unable to test so much due to being too low of a level. In no time i'll finally be able to see what the higher level (15-20) weapons do (or don't do.. considering where it is :D).

I would rather that they concentrate on fixing the glitches and other problems in the game, who cares about my inventory it will be fun to get that back on my own. This Pirate won't be broke long long.
