And by the way, did Disney ever say that it would actually be monthly, or are we just assuming that?

Why are we talking clothes, weapons are what makes the pirate. Clothing is all show and tell, and these suits all look much too fancy for a pirate. I don't remember paying to play the game for a new suit each month or every other week for that matter. The idea of the game is to live the life of a carribbean pirate, but Big D can't even add eye patches into the game.

I would much rather see more weapons added into the game, or a sort of system to add stats to clothing. This update spawns a big fat 2 out of 10 for me.

well pirates love to show off our wealth, and this lets us.

Wow Disney. Seriously, if your going to answer a question on the Grog Blog, answer it correctly. I hate to rant, but I'm really getting sick of their false answers. "Aye! They are for both unlimited and basic!" If new clothes = rare, and basics = only crude, then new clothes DO NOT EQUAL basics.

I love a good rant, but I think he may have been hinting at the new ability of basics to purchase clothing from the OLD merchants.

On test, basic pirates can buy all clothing now. Not just from the new merchants, but also from the old merchants. On test, basic pirates can purchase ANY crude clothing in any of the bland colors (no brights, darks nor blacks.) No more basics forced to run around in diapers.

There is no explicit warning when you buy an item you can't wear, but those items do say "Unlimited Access Only" in the item description panel thing.

The new merchant system obviously took a lot of effort, but it sure could give better visuals when a purchase is completed. The original (old old old old original) merchant system showed what you had, a lot better. Buying 2 tonics shouldn't take 5 minutes of clicking around to see which one you missed...how about a "give me max of all tonics" button? Or a "repair all ships now dang it" button.

Even better would be a "one-click" button somewhere to buy maximum tonics, remedies, holy waters, elixirs, miracle waters, venom shot, bane shot, hex eater shot, silver shot, steel shot, asp, adder, sidewinder, viper's nest, stink pot, firebombs, smoke bombs, siege charges, chain shot, grape shot, firebrand, thunderbolt, explosive, fury AND repair all ships. Running around for ammo is interesting when you are new, but is a really annoying chore after a few thousand times. Maybe have that button appear only when you have over 120k gold?

200K and wealthy? That also makes this game a bit of a joke. We have nothing to buy, so gold is practically pointless.

lol not for long, when the SOTL comes out, anyone who wants that will be poor.

Well i was thinking that ammo should be way more expensive, and we could buy houses. the new ships/clothes wont hurt either.

I feel you on the ammo thing, but the game doesn't even require you to buy it anymore. It drops more ammo than it does gold in the game. I like the idea of not having to go back to the store, but it's ridiculous to get 23 rounds of venom shot after using 10.

i don't get how you can loot cannon balls from land. i think you should be able to loot very little cannon balls from ships, and every other type of ammo should be able to be plundered from the sea. land enemy's should only drop daggers/bullets. and they would be WAY more expensive. i mean, who buys a lighting cannon ball for 5 gold? they should cost at least 50 gold per shot, and double in invasions.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-07-2010 01:23 AM

I do agree with SEAKING and Raikel. I almost never need to restock my ammo cuz I raid in in loot. The only time I ever need to restock is after a long sailing voyage or an invasion. Here is the thing though. As much as it makes sense to raise ammo prices, think about low levels. Many low levels do not have very much money to spend. If the prices were raised, they couldn't afford to buy ammo. It would cost them, what? 300 for bullets or knives? 700 for cannon ammo? Maybe 200-1000 gold to repair their ship, depending on their ship? As much as it would make sense, it would be far from ideal.

SEAKING23 12-07-2010 02:41 AM

Well low levels have well, low level ammo that would be cheap. if a low level went to restock everything, it should cost 200 gold. as for there ships, the light ships cost very little to repair. and if they need money, they can go get some gold by heading out to sea on a war galleon. that would help them get started. plus, it would make it so you would have to manage your money smart.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-07-2010 02:44 AM

SEAKING, how easy is it for a low level to find someone on a War Galleon willing to take them? Not too easy. And even 200 gold is A LOT. It is in the game's best interest to keep the pricing the way it is, or if they do raise it, not by much.

SEAKING23 12-07-2010 03:46 AM

Um when i was level 15 i would go on war frigs/galleons all the time. if their on public. the captains would expect low levels. its also way to easy to get gold. go on a public ship, get some gold, and come back to port filthy stinking rich.
