The Chat Gestapo delivering my 10th vacation package!!! LOL!

Since I am already back from my ban this is kind of a post mortem. I got banned for 72 hrs for literally nothing this time. Capt Reave and I were chatting in whisper. I received a transcript containing the offensive language. I said. "Pointy Boobies, First floor , men's undies, and kielbasa." Pretty tame compared to some of the other chat I've seen in guild chat on here. I feel like big D is targeting certain people such as Basil and myself but I'm not sure what we can do about it. It is incredibly frustrating to be treated like children when participating in an adult guild. especially when the comments are being made in whisper between two consenting parties. Anyhoo, thats my two cents on it!!

Ok! So I have received my first warning from D. And the funny thing is it is really mild compared to others that I have said. One was for "He He He" "and I'm a sucker for cannons"

OK. I noticed tonight that chat was being filtered / edited pretty heavily. Although I wasn't lagging, my chat was often 2 or 3 seconds behind.

With the recent warnings given out, and Rose's wasn;t the only one, I think everyone should be careful for a few days. (yeah, right!)

i halfway expect a ban just for all the personal stuff i was venting.. oh well..

I know how you feel Basil. I've been banned for saying almost the same thing as a buddy but he did not get banned and I DID. Your personal censor and mine must be related.

I also got banned for saying "picture" instead of "screen shot"

Ah another one bites the dust, now quick question, do you think this was Disney being stupid or did you really do something wrong? Because i have none many a time that people get suspended wrongly.

Haha, I love seeing people getting their first ban while a Duece. It is like a right of passage.

It is likely that after a volume of suspensions, they put certain pirates in a category of "probation" which they may scrutinize a bit more on chat because of past descretions.

I have been suspended one time only, due to passing some airport information one time to my friend that worked for Orbitz. 3 days off pirates, saved me $100+ off my travel costs, honestly, it was a deal.

I have not received any further correspondence other than monthly newsletters and bug report responses (ie Test).

I have said many many of the things in game that I see people getting banned for and have never heard a peep from Disney, now of course, company at the time, other chatter putting certain context on the phrase they decided was 'bad' could be taken into consideration and perhaps thats why I have never had any problems.

They have definately tightened down on in game chitchat, and im sure their moderation staff varies in individual personality, and attitude. They are also human and have good and bad days. Similarly here to POF, we have several admins/moderators, all have a different flare for things, and in theory, this actually helps keep things well rounded, albeit sometimes inconsistent (which I assure you we try to avoid) and im sure the same goes for Disneys customer service/moderation staff.
