Well, I did check. And so far - I'm not suspended. It may have been merely a WARNING. But, still - that's a little uptight.

I did get banned once for referred to a dwarf pirate as a midget. But, I was merely repeating what they said about being an all midget guild. Disney's people did apologize and lift the ban later.

Sometimes disneys bannings are wierd and are not needed. My sis got banned once for singing A hannah montana song lol.

Drink up me hearties Yo Ho?

emerald_sage 06-07-2009 08:05 AM

Yo ho Yo ho a pirates life for me lol. Seriously thugh this is really stupid. Unless Disney has tried to copyright every thing with the word rum in it these days cause they own the movie rights. DISNEY RUM IS A FREE WORD AND NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT.

That's ridiculous! And who knew we weren't allowed to sing in game? I sure didn't... I sing all the time and I've never gotten and email. Guess I better be more careful. That really stinks...

This is low, and by far the weirdest banning i've ever seen.

I actually did get banned for saying "gun level something"
That was a year ago

CarribeanThunder 06-10-2009 01:14 AM

Swashbuckler II, was the "something" a number?
THAT MUST HAVE BEEN WHY YOU GOT BANNED, ELIZA, BECAUSE YOU SAID A NUMBER ( i guess )

I think that this is not Disney's fault as much as it is one of their employees in the moderation department. Something like this recently happened on TTC as well.

It has been my understanding that Disney monitors the chat logs with some software that alerts of certain words, or groupings of words; the alerts are then sent to an actual person(s) who review them then make the final call on the situation. I have a couple theories on this as of late with the random bannings. First, could it be that the actual person has been taken out of the equation, and the monitoring software is fully automated and sends out the bans, and warning messages? Second, could the actual person just be having a bad day, or could it have been farmed out to an over-seas company with people who do not understand "casual" English?

When they put in the new chat system, I have had nothing but issues with private messages not showing up on both ends of the conversation. I also think it is just foolish with the whole numbers thing; we have to communicate with people in game by using numbers (how many enemies to take out). I know Disney does not want to be responsible for any kids being harmed, but this really was not a good way to go about it. Accounts who cant even communicate with people should be on specific servers for them and them alone, because it really confuses things. Possibly setting 5-10 servers as non communication servers would take care of this, limited chat accounts can only join those special servers. Then the rest of the servers would be for people who have full chat capable accounts, just cut out swearing and foul language and be done with it.

yes the something was a number, i dont remember it tho.

Liz Fireburn 06-10-2009 04:56 AM

Well that is crazy!
If disney wants to ban someone they really need to check Abassa Tortuga more often...
I had a friend get banned for saying adult drink.

Eliza Creststeel 06-10-2009 06:27 AM

Bottom line, I didn't actually get banned - Thankfully.

I think it was an automated response because i was dumb enough to put it in a thought bubble. My only issue was - is Rum a worty dird on Pirates? If it was the numbers - guilty as charged.

Raikel 06-10-2009 08:01 AM

If I could, I'd sooth the pain of all my children, you all have suffered too much, and Pirates is only adding insult to injury. I shall find a hole into the past, and destroy pirates before it is made, this I will do, then i will forget and I will have changed all of our lives completely...

Swash 06-10-2009 06:24 PM

Raikel were you the person taking the rum off the wall? Anyway I agree with Chris I think Nintendo could bring pirates farther than Disney considering Disney just wants to make money and doesn't even care about the players.
