Tess and Sierra are both ready to master nades .... and Sierra hits 40 too. Does that count as an extra glow? ;)

If you are keeping track, I met the Challenge on my own on Cutlass, Pistol, Cannon, and Sailing. Add on the glows the rest of the guild made we probably tripled the goal. Go Dueces!

Sorry for not helping more on the upper glows, but you may be able to tell, I just didn't have a pirate near those.

ok i had 15 glows total with 4 of my pirates... Fallyn had staff,cannon,sailing and pistol.. TK D'moon had..cannon, cutlass, pistol and noto.. Izzy had cutlass... and Sammee had noto x2, pistol, cutlass, sail and cannon. Hope it helps us meet the goal. :buds:

Before I post the results of yesterday's all day GLOWFESTRAVAGANZA, I have to tell you all something.

You all amaze me!
This guild is the greatest bunch of pirates, players, and friends that I have ever seen. I'm proud to be a member with you.

I watched throughout the day yesterday, and tried to keep track of everything that was happening. I saw players drop everything in order to help a fellow guildie reach a goal, or to go watch someone make a major glow, or to heal, or just generally support each other. I saw so many people take up the challenge, and I never thought when I posted the guild event that so many of you would be so dedicated to not only making it, but to totally blow it away.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU!!

The Challenge
To have a certain number of pirates in the guild level up, or Glow, in the following categories:
Notoriety - I challenged to try for 23 pirates to level at least one level
Cannon - I challenged that 5 pirates level in each of the rest of the categories
Sailing
Cutlass
Pistol
Doll
Dagger
Grenades
Staff

Ideally, it would have taken a minimum of 63 glows to meet the challenge.
I also said that if anyone made the Top 100 in either Poker or Black Jack, it would count as a glow in any category.


I'm sorry to say that Disney has let us down. DxD isn't showing any results for all that we accomplished yesterday!

Here is what I am best able to estimate from the postings here and things I saw ingame. (Yes, I was trying to take notes.)

Notoriety -- At least 15 different pirates levelled up in notoriety yesterday. At least 30 Notoriety level increases.
Cannon -- At least 12 different pirates and at least 20 cannon glows.
Sailing -- At least 13 different pirates and at least 19 Sailing levels were gained.
Cutlass -- At least 17 different pirates levelled and at least 24 levels were achieved.
Dagger -- Identifed 8 pirates and 10 glows for Dagger.
Doll -- Minimum of 9 pirates and 12 glows.
Pistol -- At least 17 different pirates and a minimum of 22 levels.
Grenades -- At least 7 pirates levelled and 15 levels accomplished.
Staff -- We can verify 4 different pirates who levelled up one level each.

Special congrats to Kat O'Hara for Mastering Sailing - level 25 and especially to Beth for Mastering Grenades, Level 25. (4 level 40 pirates ,and this is her first to Master Nades, WTG Beth!)
Also, Unbelievable as it may seem, BUG had a total of 43 glows on 5 different pirates!!!! RICHARD had 32 total glows on 4 different pirates. HAWKE had 16 different glows on 4 different pirates. SPANKY had 16 total glows on 2 pirates. (Makes my 11 glows on 2 pirates seem puny.)

I got this from the postings here, and from watching ingame. I'm sure there are a bunch that I don't know about, and that haven't been posted here. I also can't even begin to guess about anyone making the Top 100 in Poker, Black Jack, Enemies Defeated or Ships Sunk. I will keep trying to get info from DxD throughout the day. If I can get better info, I will post it.

Just by this tally, The Dueces Wild members achieved, at a minimum, 156 glows yesterday!!! Truely amazing! Thank-you all for the participation, and WOOT to all of you!

(The next time I post a GM Challenge, I'm gonna make it HARD!)

Seriously, we did all that? Wow! To me days like yesterday are what make Pirates great. It's not the updates, not the quests, the story, or any of that. It's the pirates themselves. It's the solidarity of people across the country, around the world, sharing something they love with friends. Does it really get any better than that? To me, yesterday is all about what it means to be a Duece!

I didn't have all of Kid's either, so what he posted was helpful and is going to change the numbers. Thanks for updating me Kid.

Anyone else? Tandy, Blue, Rachel, anyone? I'm still hoping that DxD updates. I really wanted to be able to post the results straight from them. I'm sure that there were glows that happened on some of the non-POF players that we won't ever see posted here.

We may get over 200 glows for the guild for the day by the time it's all available. (I wonder if a single guild ever got 200 glows in a day before?)

And Sven, we know that you're a team player. (Just haven't figured out which team you're on. Logically, it would be the Penguins, but....)

While I'm here:

I propose that next week we just kinda kick back. Any Master glows, Boss Battles, or anything else someone wants to post up is fine. Other than that, plunder party and guild help.

Down the road:

I still have a couple of games we haven't tried, and we can revisit Bumper Boats one night. We never did do the Ship Tag game from three weeks ago. So there's a few things for the next couple of weeks.

I've been talking with Jess about Scavenger Hunt #4. Tentatively 3rd or 4th Wednesday in September.

I've been saving a few things up for a 300th member party, whenever that may happen.

Still tracking the guesses for when the guild will hit 200K ships sunk.

And, don't forget to sign up one pirate each for the month-long best "Piratin'" contest for September. (Listed in it's own post.)

HUZZAHS to Dueces Wild. Glow Fest 2009 rocked out loud.


I know Blue was able to sneak in and get a few glows before midnight PST. I am not sure how many he eeked out so he will have to post those. Tandy Landd had 5 weapon glows( doll, cutlass, dagger, pistol, cannon) and a note glow to level 14. I ran out of time before I could earn 250 points on my teeny light sloop. But next time!

Great fun and a great idea. Can't wait to see the final results. Dog pile on Purv in game for a group hugs session. LOL.

TY, Enrique and Tandy for posting your results. I didn't have most of EK/Murat's and none of Tandy Landd's, so this is definitely going to push us over the top. I'm sure we have more than 200 glows for the day!

REGARDING THE NEXT SCAV HUNT...

Please..please.. please not the fourth week of Sept. I will be in travelling... work related convention (and I don't have a laptop).

Last update to the Guild Night GM Challenge for the Glowfestravaganza.

DxD is still showing the results from Tuesday, not Wednesday. I'm sure the lag is due to them putting effort into the update on Test, (or else DxD is just plain screwed up!) but they really hurt our scoring for this event. By the time they catch up, they will skip Wednesday altogether.

I went through all the postings and my notes, THREE times, (OCD, remember) and this is what I came up with for totals.


Notoriety -- At least 21 different pirates levelled up in notoriety. At least 40 Notoriety level increases.
Cannon -- At least 18 different pirates and at least 26 cannon glows.
Sailing -- At least 17 different pirates and at least 25 Sailing levels were gained.
Cutlass -- At least 24 different pirates levelled and at least 32 levels were achieved.
Dagger -- Identifed 14 pirates and 17 glows for Dagger.
Doll -- Minimum of 16 pirates and 20 glows.
Pistol -- At least 24 different pirates and a minimum of 29 levels.
Grenades -- At least 8 pirates levelled and 16 levels accomplished.
Staff -- We can verify 8 different pirates who levelled up one level each.
(These are all CONFIRMED.)

I'm posistive that there are some still missing. I don't have any info on some of the players. That is what I was counting on DxD for. I'm also sorry to say that we will never know how many made the top 100 for Poker, Black Jack, Enemies or Ships.

But, here it is;
AT LEAST -------> 213 total glows for the day!

I sincerely doubt that any one guild has ever done this before. (Kinda doubt anyone ever tried it before.) (Really doubt anyone was OCD enough to try to track it.)

The very first guild night after the new release hits open, the guild night event is going to be cave races! No one will know their way around, and will get lost inside the tunnels and dead ends. Muuuuhhhhhahahahahhahahhaha

Sierra is going to Master level 40, and Master Nades at 25.
Tess lost control of herself and Mastered Nades last night! Grats again, Tess.
Amelia is ready to Master both Sailing and Cannon.
Jade is ready to do a Boss Battle.

And we have a few pirates who really need some gold, so Plunder Party is going in full swing.

Anyone who wants to setup a particular time? Or do we just play it by ear?

Wow that's a lot going on. ;) Kat is willing to help with Jade's BB if you need her, seeing as how her cannon is, for the moment, mastered.

For the plunder party I'm not using Kat. With both her Cannon and Sail maxed, and quests going that require ships, I'd rather wait till the new stuff hits open and get the credit for what I'm sinking in rep. A single BB is one thing but a plunder party is a whole nother story.

Also, since more people tend to show up to guild night than can do a BB Kat volunteers to launch her war galleon for whoever wants to get the plunder party going. If Kat isn't needed for the BB herself she'll launch and I'll captain with one of my smaller pirates.

YAY! I'll be on asap tonight. Just give a shout when you're ready to battle yer bosses off ;) As far as plunder, Jacq needs to pad her war fleet fund, so I'll be bringing her in.

Jade can have her BB whenever it works, I can even wait until Thursday if it works better! Jade is also lvl 15 sailing now & is saving for her War Frig so Plunder sounds lovely!!

Tonight for Jade! Thursday is Test Guild night, so most of us who have test accounts will be over there.

I am still assuming that the new release will be out this week.

With that in mind, I think the most important thing we can do is celebrate ALL of our level 40 master pirates, whether fully mastered or not.

I would like to see everyone bring in their level 40 pirates for a group picture. If you have more than one, bring in your main pirate, or bring in more than one. This should only take a few minutes, so I would guess that we could do this around 10:00 PM Eastern. If you don't have a level 40 pirate, bring in your highest level one for the pictures.


Anyone who has a special glow, mastering, Boss Battle, etc., please post up.

Is there anyone who is close enough to level 40 to get that glow this Wednesday? It would be nice to have one last level 40 hit the guild list.

After all that nade tossing, Callie is about half way to 40 and it's about time she finally got there! Will do my best to have her 'glow ready' for Wednesday night.

I would still like to get the group picture! I feel it would be a good memento of the guild to have it.

Now for the change of plans.
Disney beat my estimate for the release of the new updates. I expected them on Thursday. SO, I propose that tomorrow night. all the people who have test accounts lead "tours" of all the new caves. Since Lars on test is only low level, I didn't get much chance to go into all of them, and I'm sure that the non-test players wouldn't mind being taken through them by some of us who have played in them already.

Throughout the evening, anyone who has a test account just give a shout out, say what cave you are at, and anyone who would like to join you there can TP to you.

This is NOT to be a raid on the caves, more of a "let's all just go check things out" type of deal. Fight when you have to, but don't spend an inordinate amount of time in any one place. I'm counting on the Test players to just take the lead on this one. If you each want to take a single cave, or make a schedule, that's up to you.

Tonight, early, (well relatively early), I may be looking for a crew to help with Prob's BB. If I do the Father's Day quest today, I would like to use the double rep for the BB that I've been holding onto for over a year.

And don't forget, let's ALL try to get together around 10 Eastern for a screenshot of everyone.

Prob's BB is doubtful. I didn't get ingame this afternoon, so didn't do the FD quest. Not going to waste the chance to do double rep on that 2K, so may hold off on the BB til another day. After all, he's only been holding it for a year.

At some point tonight I need to take on Neban and Remington for my staff quest. After healing people doing these two baddies I know I'm gonna need some help with them. I'll be ready to do that whenever though, early, late, whatever works.

But, uhm, am i the only one who couldn't log on last night after 11PM Central?

No, I had major issues too. Did manage to get back but only after uninstalling Pirates, deleting the process tree for the launcher, re downloading the game, doing a hard shutdown, THEN reinstalling. After all that mess, it went right back. But I was getting the error message "X.pirates.exe is not responding" over and over. That was prolly just me.

SAILING for REP!

This Wednesday night we will be sailing for rep.
Small crews, about 3 per crew. (Larger crews make it hard for everyone to get a turn sailing.)
Each crew needs to have at least one War Frigate.
Take turns as captain and gunners, but not sailing for plunder.
Sail for rep. Make sure everyone gets max rep at cannon, and a turn at steering.

Example: (just an example)
Jess, Bug and I are crewed. I launch the Wra Frigate, and I take the wheel. Jess and Bug at the front cannons. I place the ship so that they can shoot the enemy ships. They shoot the sails off first, then shift to low level iron shot to continue sinking the enemy ship. I can join in on cannon, butI never shoot broadsides. They get max cannon rep, I get some cannon rep and some sailing rep. We do this until the hold is full of cargo, then land. Next trip, Jess steers. The third trip, Bug steers.
Everyone gets cannon and sailing rep this way.

I propose this so that everyone gets a chance to start levelling cannon and sailing again. I have noticed that most everyone has been spending a lot of time on land doing the CM quests.

Start crewing as people are available, and the event ends when either:
everyone quits, or when it degenerates into a "shoot each other" melee. (It usually degenerates into a shoot each other melee.)

Prob's boss battle was most awesome. I liked that full head on approach. I know we were on a time constraint but it was like ... woo! action packed.

And Tormenta was grand fun playing with the Thralls and Urchinfists. We got quite a few glowages going tonight!

Well, everyone has had some time to check out the new updates. You have all been busy levelling and getting to higher and higher levels of weapons and notoriety.

Races!

I have developed two race courses for eveyone to run. I am asking for a couple of the officers to volunteer to referee the courses. I'm not going to publicize the courses until just before the races begin.

Yep, we're bringing back the infamous Bumper Boat tounament! Everyone get ready for AFK pushing at sea!
