They probably sent you that email because you were singing a song that originally talked about another alcoholic beverage. Rum may be a part of the game but the way you were using the word could have effected their response.

Ghostcannon 06-10-2009 09:40 PM

That's really insane by Disney in giving you a warning because of that.
I really dont know, but maybe they dont like us to mention the word "rum" a lot in the chats.

I hope you were not drunk while singing that song! hehehe (that's probably what Disney thought).. But still, it is insane by big D.

I got banned three times with one of my accounts, my founder, so I sorta got angry, but I was ok with it. UNTIL, I look at my credit card charges, and it charged me for the time that I had been banned for, which means for about 2 to 3 months. Yes, all Disney wants is money, simple as that.

I was once suspended for singing Sweet Home Alabama. That I might understand, but getting banned for singing about rum? Wonder how anyone will get help with Gunner quest?

Erich Uchiha 06-11-2009 12:26 AM

Come to think about it, the first GM event where we where able to ask them about whats coming to the game later, I kept on asking "Any chances of Rum being implemeted into the game?" And they didn't respond until I said it like 1,000 times and they finally said "Sorry Erich I can't talk about that".

AdmiralSavvy 06-11-2009 12:31 AM

Wow what a shame. Next thing you know people will be banned for saying "Attack the Navy". >.>

LOL What a joke. The GM can't talk about an item that is introduced, delivered, and stolen from in his own game...

Eric Daggerskull 06-11-2009 01:34 AM

Better warn Gunner he's breakin' the game rules!

Raikel 06-11-2009 02:55 AM

Hold your horses(Sails, Whatever) Didn't a quest involve you importing Rum to Padres or something. Either way, it has a lot of quests that involve Rum thanks to Gunner. That's pretty much illegal in itself, Pirates should ban themselves...

Lady Freckles 06-11-2009 03:03 AM

Hey, let's toss the spam rule in there too - they suspend people on TT for spam chatter, which would include typing gibberish, counting (people were counting buckets of fish caught), repeating the same thing over and over, etc etc.

I doubt it was the mention of rum - I've mentioned rum many times in game and never had so much as a warning. Perhaps it depends on the context of what is being said.

As for this ... that's simple, they can't talk about certain aspects of the game that may or may not be coming.

My 2 cents, for what they are worth ...

Hile 06-12-2009 11:03 PM

Isn't there a quest where you have to get rum for Gunner?

John Walker 06-14-2009 10:52 PM

I got banned for sayng google once.

lostmymarbles 06-14-2009 11:02 PM

The bannings were/are so arbitrary that banning a whole account and all linked accounts would have been unfair to those who were legitimately using the linked accounts to share a paid account with their family.

Shnoodell 06-15-2009 01:20 AM

i agree marbles, even though i do admit after a few fed up attempts of disney banning me for no reason i did link more than just my brothers account to mine just in case :P lol im guilty

Our records indicate that there may have been a violation of our Terms of Use connected to your account, outlined in the chat log below:

10-49-00 : yea i dont think that glitch works anymore
10-49-24 : it does? i gotta try it later
10-49-48 : ok see ya later ill try the glitch later to see if it works

Please be aware that violations of the Disney Online Terms of Use and/or House Rules can lead to disciplinary action, such as a hold being placed on your account.

If disney gave me the warning because i said glitch, just agh

LOL i saw max XD

Basil Dreadflint 06-15-2009 01:21 PM

A) Its a warning, not a full suspension
B) IMO, you didn't get the warning for saying the word glitch. You got the warning for saying you would "try the glitch later".

Disney will suspend people for using glitches, if caught. They didn't catch you, but they did see you saying that you were going to use it. Therefor, the warning.
