Just wondering, I woulden't even be suprised if someone already hit 50 lol.

Yes i have found a wall glitch!

It is in tormenta cave. I am not talking about how sometimes you can go through the fake rocks and waterfalls. I am talking about a real wall glitch.

Lastly, has anyone found any wall glitches in the new caves? I've been looking for them to report them(so they can be patched, I guess?) but I haven't found any. They must have worked really hard on these new caves... which makes me worry the second story quest is going to stink when it comes out.
Yes, i've noticed quite a few of them, but haven't sent any reports yet.

MacIronhawk 08-21-2009 11:00 PM

Eh... well hopefully they get fixed, because I'm tired of wall glitches. They do nothing to help you when playing the game, because enemies can magically walk through walls.

Nelly Darkpaine 08-21-2009 11:24 PM

Ive seen alot of wall glitches in the cave environments so far... including one thats a doozie to get back out of.

Bartholomew Foulsteel 08-22-2009 12:34 AM

Yep. I glitched a wall last night. Went WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY into the lava in Lava Gorge. Attacked a skelly with my pistol. He came right to me and slaughtered me in an instant.

No one with a Mac is able to connect to their servers. We log in fine, but get a message, "Could not connect to pirateserver.test.piratesonline.com:7667." I sent a bug report with log files to Disney and this was my answer....

"Our servers require TCP ports 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS), and 7667 (game) to be open for sending and receiving packets. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope this helps to alleviate the issue you are having."

...Less than helpful, I have no idea what this means, AND I've had no trouble getting in game before this past update. SO FRUSTRATINGGGGG...I am planning on giving them a call tomorrow. Will let you know what they say.

I do understand releasing before POTBS, and then redoing a lot of things, but I still don't understand one thing. Does anyone know if they have any plans on reusing the old caves? That's so much area and content they could bring back, and I'm sure that at least some of us don't want to see it go to waste.

I dont see anything going to waste, they served their purpose to launch the game and make it playable as fast as they could. Those rooms were part of the problem, all the same! Not new content? It most certainly is! No longer can you mindlessly run through a room to get to the other side, this steps up the game both from a playability perspective, and from an aesthetic perspective, as well as gives them more to work on story line wise.

Sorry, but I just sort of miss the caves and not for the reason you may think. I do not miss the old cave looks, but I do miss how big they were.

How are we going to be able to level up if enemies are so close to us? While playing yesterday, I had enemies attack me without warning in the caves. If it's bad in one cave, does that mean leveling up in the Tormenta Cave is going to be near impossible?

The aggression of the enemies appears to be based on level. Grey enemies will ignore you, etc. Honestly when I saw the caves, and how they are laid out with so many levels of NPCs, I saw it as a leveler's dream! With the exception of grenades perhaps. Maybe bring a few of them back as new areas, the towns I see as something that would work well, but bringing back something as obviously basic, repetitive and quickly thrown together as a number of the old caves, I dont know. id probably laugh at them if they did, thinking, haha couldnt even make up something new, had to use this old errr... stuff.

So, they have redesigned...

The towns
The enemy levels
The caves and caps

Time for that new story quest?

I'll bet we'll see a redesign of the jungles in the game first.
That IS the next logical step wether its what we want or not, meanwhile us level 40s will be grinding trying to reach 50.

swashbuckler II 08-22-2009 08:07 AM

The only place now I see an old cave on test, is the mayhem PVP

Shnoodell 08-22-2009 10:48 AM

LOL mac you are spending to much time on toontown these days ;-) , but i was thinking the same thing, like run through one of those pots of fire and lose some hp (yes ive recently played WoW :p) and it probably shouldnt be to hard to do since they both use panda 3D and disney has already proved that they can do moving stuff.

I personally prefer grinding than questing, I mean, how can anyone enjoy Gunner?

Love the new designs on test. In fact when I go to regular site, I feel like something is missing now even though I don't have a level 40 pirate on test. I definitely think this is all a lead up to a new chapter, especially after listening to the Host GM's. The one thing I am not fond of though, is the new compass. My pirate was struggling attempting to hit ships with it. Course I was sailing alone & am not the best sailor in the Caribbean. Guess, it will just take some time to get the hang of it...wonder how many times I have to get sunk before that happens...LOLZ

Bartholomew Foulsteel 08-22-2009 01:58 PM

I agree, Lizzy. The olde compasse was betters.

I like these new caves. Guess what the close enemies and the "cant run through a cave without being attacked" is a good thing. Its adds FUN to the game by adding those extra factors. Seriously how fun is it to run in a cave not get attacked not have to dodge anything run where you have to go then run out. For me not very. "But the enemies are too high leveled" My answer, then you shouldn't be in there in the first place!

THESE caves are the ones Disney wanted the other ones were a QUICK ALTERNATIVE to get the game on the market fast.
