Level 61
Now we all know about those level discrepancies.
The cards don't match sometimes until you or someone logs in. Yesterday I came across a LV 61 who was really a lv 50. She wasn't nice about it and her entourage and guildies kept yelling at anyone following,,, I did follow just enough to get a screenie and left them alone. This is me take. I fully understand that she gets it all the time "OMG, a level 61!!!" and it must get old,,, but that's just your celebrity status that you didn't ask for, deal with it !!! There's a WHOLE Caribbean out there that has never heard of nor seen such a thing, me included, and I could have been spared of the attitude. More so now with ghosts sighting and so many changes,,, it was really odd and cool to see that but unfortunately she ruined the moment for me and some poor basic noobs. What a shame. Anyway, be discreet when approaching these glitched level folks as they may not welcome you at all. Keep the pointy part of the cutlass on the enemy and the handle on your side. |
The Lv61 is really a Lv61, not a Lv50. She should be 50, but she is leveling beyond the cap, so she is still earning (or whatever she is doing) the rep to reach that level.
The behavior though, that is unacceptable however. If they were yelling at people who were just watching, they should have just teleported away, instead of carried on. My guess is you either found them trying to "level" more... or almost caught her really leveling :laughks2: |
Hmm, I dunno,,, but when I clicked on her, her card showed a lv 50... !?!?
|
Thats because that is the actual cap. However, the cap is broken, but the "actual level" shows up above the head.
So pretty much, the card shows the current cap. The number next to your name shows your current level. |
i agree with the captain. she obviously did that for the celebrity status. so natually she is going to be swamped like a gm giving gold, aye? the least she can do is have a good attitude about it. what sven said about having caught her trying to "level" might have something to do with it.

Anyone who knows me in game knows that I dont tolerate attitudes well, and if someone can dish it out around me, they'd best be able to take it.
Keep in mind, Ive never had a ban, or even a warning, but - I dont put up with people getting spoken to badly - I CANT STAND bullies. Do they think they somehow started at level 20?? Ive seen some of the worst attitudes in this game, unfortunately. Kids and sadly some adults who need to be taken down a few pegs. Level 61? WHO CARES - they're probably cheating which makes me seriously UNimpressed. Whatever.. people like that make the game UNFUN. |

Mind yer manners if encountering odd leveled pirates out there, treat others as you would like to be treated or something like that... |
This is how the level glitch works----- go to the cuba shipwright, get a quest...go to the svs island, see a guy there, drop the quest then return to cuba and the cycle starts again. Its both french and spanish.
|
Lovely... so there is essentially a cheater who treats people badly? Great addition to the game!
|
I have heard that people that are in the top 5 of most enemies defeated on the leaderboards that you are given special rights to level beyond level 50! I really dont know if this is true, its just a common rummor floating around...
|
Not true. Disney would post.
|
Already posted this on the level 58 forum. She might get banned for going beyond because of using a glitch to level up. U can't go beyond max level no matter WHAT. One time I was on My regular pirate (Angel Seafish my first pirate) and some guy who was level 41 called me a noob. Although I'm level 27 a lot smaller level than him, but Im not a a noob. Cya

how would they be able to verify the abuse of a glitch to those ends?

oh, i know it would be obvious, no one could possably do that without glitching, but im saying, where is the line drawn? for example, we have two pirates, level 51. one got there by cheating, one got there just by accident... but how can you tell which one did what? do you ban them both or let the one that glitched slide? what im getting at is this could cause a grey area, in which im going to guess that the glitch will simply be fixed, and no punishments handed out.

I was suggesting two different player accounts in that example, lol. it just strikes me as unfair, and undisneylike(?) if the player who got there legit gets the same punishment as the glitcher.

Not that I see, at any rate. :pirate2: |
I'm guessing MC talks about that quest you can get at any shipwright that makes you do part of the Privateering quests.
But I say live and let live... Just play the game any way you see fit as long as you don't mess with other peoples games you know. |

i say they fix it and just bring the glichted plyers back to 50.

Im sure all pirates over notoriety 50 will be returned to 50 as and when. I am noto 52 now and got there, first by accident as I was killing skeletons for the competition and it just happened and then was able to see my noto going up. What I have found is any treasure dropped by enemies gives you 25 rep (per enemy) that is added to your notoriety. I have tested most enemy groups to see what drop the most. It seems that gators at cuba and skeletons at Governors Garden drop on average 9 pieces of treasure per every 100 enemies defeated (which were the best groups the quickest defeated). Also during an invasion you can potentially get around 3-4k on a good invasion (which will also be added to your notoriety). The climb to the next level notoriety is slow. From memory 50 to 51 requires around 69k? and 51 to 52, 72k and every level above that is gonna get bigger. Personally I cant see how, legitimately, you can level to notoriety 61 (now noto 62 I see) as quickly as she has. Dodgy dealing me thinks. but please correct me if I am wrong. If she has nothing to hide then why not come forward and tell us how it is done. I for one will be interested to know, as will many others. The majority of those past noto 50 have just continued to play the game we love. Notoriety going up is no big deal and I'll explain to anyone who asks how it happened. I have nothing to hide and have got where I am through hard work as have others. It's a shame sometimes we get tarred with the same brush as being cheaters.
