POTCO Developer Interview on Disney's Get Connected

Awesome!!! It shows almost everything we have been asking for. I like the new mini game feature they are hopefully adding to POTCO. This video gives great insight on what is coming next.....

That is one cool little promo but it shows nothing that most pirates want. The second chapter, ship customization, more ships, or anything really. They are adding mini games? Is POTCO the new Mario Party? The video promotes he game but show nothing new coming out. It isn't a video showing what's coming out. It's a video showing what is on currently.

The "minigame" at 1:27 lets us run faster, power up weapons, and so on (according to them). And they show some signs that the Kraken is still being worked on. Nice find djr_8fan, don't think anyone else would of really noticed :D

Yeah I was wondering what the mini games were about. Are they gonna just be on the POTCO site or in the online game? I did find the info about the potions very interesting though. And I agree, TSC, nothing discussing what us pirates really want to happen in the game. Still a cool video to see.

Hey anyone notice at the end of the video they had the POTCO Banner with the words BEWARE OF THE KRAKEN!? I wonder if this is a message about it coming soon or if that will be one of the minigames they plan on bringing to POTCO.

Love the idea of the speed portion, maybe the developers were inspired by the current speed hacks most were using, lol. hopefully people will stop using speed hacks.

I am... overwhelmed, I need time to think about some of these images, because I saw something in the video, it blew my mind completely.... players, beware of the shadow cutlass, it looks deadly... and it is the one from the phase files...

Epic, nice find! But, there is one liiiiitle thing on there that is going to make Kraken Crazy People go even more crazy... At the end, for a few seconds, it says "Bewere the Kraken", so now people might go crazy over that. I am exited about the Tunic thing though :D.

P.S People, plz don't go crazy over that.

I saw those too Mac, but that means nothing. I have seen that second one posted here on POF. They showed them on the promo for that specific reason. To get everyone and their moms excited about the kraken. The images don't mean that they are working on it. They mean that they have them there. They never mentioned that it was coming out soon or that they were working on them. Who knows how old they are. Who knows if those aren't the kraken renderings from the movies or from the console games. It is a promo for a game. A Disney promo, and those are really good at not really saying any important or classified info. I work with media and have worked for Disney. Those images mean nothing.

I hope they add the Kraken soon... ugh how long has it been since they announced it again?

They had announced it about March 20, 2009 that it had been released on Test. Yeah, we never saw anything of it on Test. Been over a year....

They didn't say the Kraken was out on test. They've never said it was on test. They said in the developer diary they planned on having it out before the end of 2009 but that's it.

And was it me or was there some island sketch or similer that woman was working on?It had clouds over it and looked like a major location in size.(Look just before they get to the Kraken part.)

Could that be "Raven's Cove Island"?

I seriously remember that in March of 2009 the waters turned green for St. Patty's Day. The message when we logged in said something about it possibly being an omen of a sea monster coming. I also remember, and several other people I know do too, that there was a message in the release notes on the Test launcher saying something about the kraken being released. We all were confused on test because there was no sign of the Kraken. Several of us had recalled all this when this past March the waters turned green again and the message had been changed for this year. It no longer said that it was possibly an omen of a sea monster coming to the Caribbean. If anyone else remembers this, let me know. I've tried looking for the notes mentioning the Kraken being release, but they were removed. Probably because it was a mistake that they put that message in the Test release note in the first place.

It could be, or it could be nothing. Guys keep in mind that this is a promo not a preview of things to come. Those guys that they showed working there might not even be part of the developers. Odds are they are actors.

None of them look like the developers that I saw in the videos from beta that the developers posted on the pirates site.

I hope they didn't replace the whole developer staff, but you're probably right, these guys might be actors.

Thats it! The next update has potions for it!! Remember? Gypsies having secret discussions.... Parchment dropped by Sandra Tew on the beach with a strange picture? This will probably be something they invented to battle off the forces of Jolly Roger. Also Cannon towers for land protection. And the enemies will definitely be having something - Raven Cove. I hope there are some powerful enemies there....

possibly but the kraken is the most funnest part for me but i wonder how to get to it is the kraken a mini game or is it just gonna be in the sea like uncharted waters or near padres

If u look in the video u see 3 ISLANDS! We know now that one of them is RAVEN COVE that is on the test! But what is the 2 other islands!!!!!!?????!!!!! what do u think the other islands are?

Other Early ideas for the shape of ravens cove, probably got thrown out.

Or may be singapore, isla cruces, or pelegastos....
