Soloing the Cannon Defense Minigame
 

Well, I had just lost a CD game after reaching round 14ish, and I went back in to try again. No one had come until later in Wave 9 - meaning I was soloing it all the way until then. To add to that, I hadn't lost ANY treasure along the way - I assume it's like an Invasion, where, if there are more people, it gets harder.
My question is, if any of you have tried going at it alone, how far have you gotten?

I have played it solo more often that not, and yes, it is harder when more people join in. I don't really pay attention to the wave number that I am on, just my cannon level. As for that, the highest I have gotten is level 13.

I have not gone on test since it came out. I am using a different laptop and cannot load test while on it. Will get on tomorrow... maybe Monday. See you at the cannons!

The highest level I've gotten to, I believe, was around Lv16 - though, I'm not sure if it was EXACTLY Lv16, but close to that. I'm big on cannoneering, you know.

What cannon ram is that?

wow I cant believe they are now making us allies with the navy to destroy our own ships. Huh crazy world.

Seriously, if you can beat cannon defense all the way to the end(I'd guess that's once you have all the amo), then I think we should get a free navy uniform. Now that'd be awesome.

The farthest I have now gone alone is Wave 30. Someone came later on, and I got disconnected at Wave 32. I swear he was speed hacking because those cannonballs looked bunched up and he was barely reloading. But I don't care anymore.

Don't worry, mate - you'll sooner or later get used to the controls and you'll get better at it. It took ME a while to get used to the controlling and handling ( Ok, maybe not too long :D but it took some time ).

And what exactly have we been doing on Port Royal invasions?
Answer: helping the navy.

Thunder, do you have any strategys to share? I've only been able to get to wave 15, and my accuracy throughout the whole battle was around 48-54 percent.

Also, do you know how you got the gold cannon?

Impossible. During the first of testing of cannon defense, Disney made the cannons to be able to reload within about half a second to reload 6 cannonballs.
I found two videos of Cannon Defense, the cannonballs are being shot fast. Besides, the Bandits are going a bit fast, so the Navy made special cannons that fire twice as many cannonballs than the ship cannons, and twice as fast.

I watched that video and a couple of others which appear to be typical games of Cannon Defense. But I do believe that there must be some hacking going on as some of us were in a game with one of the players who appeared to have scatter shot before the 2nd wave - which I believe would be nearly impossible. The rest of us were shooting more or less the same amount of shots and this fellow was shooting 5 times as many shots as the rest. If it is not speed hacking, it must be some sort of hack.

I'm still not sure about that - the way the cannons were somewhat bunched together and all, but whatever.

And yes, I know they reload really quickly, but to me, it seemed pretty fast.
And it was quite suspicious how midway through Wave 32, I got disconnected, even though my internet was fine ( And it was the kind of disconnecting when your internet breaks, and the game kind of freezes - nothing takes damage and such. The average Test disconnecting is an automatic "You have been disconnected" notice ). I could most likely be wrong, but it seemed strange.

Also, about that video - so that's where the Tortuga Cannon Defense guy is.....

Thanks for the tips, because I was able to get to wave 19, and when I lost it gave me the Iron Cannon ram.(will help next time I go out there)

Also, the bait amo is the funniest thing I've ever seen in the game.

Because the link was unapproved by a moderator, it was removed. You might have to find the video yourself, though it shouldn't be hard - as far as I know, there's only one Cannon Defense video.

On a side note, that's one realistic shark, Mac - it still doesn't make me want to buy 6 shots of ammo for 1000 banknotes.

Soloing?

...I've made it to level 21 with a gunners cannon ram and a level 25 cannon. I didn't think it was that much of an achievement, but I guess it is.

Alone I've only made it to wave 24, and that was by luck.

I'm not sure how to fight the second round of bandits, as the numbers increase, their HP increases, and they seem to get faster.

That, and the fact that mines disappear doesn't help. What kind of mines just go up and disappear on you? I don't see that happening in real life, it shouldn't happen in cannon defense.(I'm just saying this because I stink at it)

Porbably a bug?
