Caribbean Demon!!! AAH!!

So, the other night, I suddenly had a creative burst, and started drawing monsters/demons/dark heathen gods. Here's my first ( And perhaps best ) His name is Arzag. -Turns to face demon- "Say hello Arzag!"

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...e_Terrible.JPG

It's not the best quality, since I took a picture of it and it blurred a bit. Just so you know, he's a sea/volcano demon who's been taking yearly sacrifices from those poor blokes in Las Pulgas. Why do you think Jolly Roger's forces are so drawn to the small craggy valley?

So? How do you like it?

Nate Swordwalker 06-28-2010 06:29 PM

I guess it is cool, but where are the others? You said you had more?

KeeperOfTheCode 06-28-2010 06:38 PM

So, it's not that good? Oh well... I thought, considering I hadn't ever had any training whatsoever- It was strictly self-taught... Ah well, maybe I shouldn't give you the others... :sadmh9:

Nate Swordwalker 06-28-2010 06:56 PM

No it is good, I know a lot about art, that is better than my stuff, but it is kinda... What is the word... Well lets just say that I don't like that kind of stuff, that is why I don't like it. I would like to see the other ones mate.

Sven Osymthe 06-28-2010 06:59 PM

Nice job, i'd like to see the others too if you wanted to post them :pirate81:

KeeperOfTheCode 06-28-2010 08:19 PM

Somebody likes my work! Ok, you've convinced me. I'll try to get another couple here, but I can't seem to get it to load my other pictures... Any advice?

Nate Swordwalker 06-28-2010 10:24 PM

I would say open it up in paint or whatever and then go to File and then save as and then name it and then look in your pictures and then post it here.

KeeperOfTheCode 06-28-2010 10:56 PM

I've done that, but it's not loading. It's stopping half way and not finishing.

Nate Swordwalker 06-28-2010 11:21 PM

Hmm... I can't help ya then.

KeeperOfTheCode 06-29-2010 07:12 PM

Ah! Here it is. I'll give a short talk on each one.

Say hello to Kaliki, (Fantasized) heathen god of deaths at sea. Here you see him holding his two sacred jewels which are hinted at in my stories in The Sailor's Yarn forum. Some people I've shown this to have thought of it as 'Disturbing', but I hope you don't.

This fellow below is Telzor, Aka 'The All-Seer'. He's a sea demon worshiped by cults in the back-waters of Cuba. He also aided the gods in their fight against Mimren. ( More on that later )

Lastly, (And perhaps least) this is Golga. Haven't come up with much of a story for him, other than he represents the dangerous forces of the sea. (Hurricanes, freak waves, red tides, etc.)

So tell me how you like them.

IMO, they are actually kind of disturbing lol. Especially the first one. Is that like some type of parrot or bird in the bottom left corner of the last pic? Sure looks like it lol

KeeperOfTheCode 06-29-2010 10:49 PM

That's a dragon actually. Got the notebook for my birthday about four years ago, but never was interested in it until now.

angel 4ever 06-29-2010 10:55 PM

Nate Swordwalker 06-29-2010 10:58 PM

Ah ok I see the dragon in it. Nice little doodle there.

Like what? I'm a fair author, artist, and poet, but ideas don't come to me easily. Do tell me yours!

that thing with the crab legs (or so I think its crab legs) is creepy! how would you like to see that coming at you full speed!

KeeperOfTheCode 06-30-2010 02:20 PM

I think I'd rather not be at the wrong end of that critter.
We are not responsible for damage, maiming, excruciatingly painful deaths, or devouring of souls. If you want a refund, just put the creature back in its box and ship it to us for a low flat rate.

Now for my latest creations!

When humanity first came to inhabit these remote islands so long ago, two groups of gods; the light, representing morality, and the dark, representing immorality, went to war, as always, to decide the fate of the people of this region. Long they battled, ravaging what would become Tortuga and destroying an advanced (Non-human) civilization on Isla Tormenta.

Another group of gods watched as the two sides battled on, and they were displeased. These were the nature gods, older than the battling groups, and indifferent towards the fate of humans... until now. They were displeased as they watched the islands decimated. So together, they brought forth a monster to battle the young, all too human gods... Mimren...
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...ium/Mimren.JPG

Thus was Mimren, a great, hulking mockery of humanity. The dark gods fled, but the light gods, not wishing any more destruction on humanity, stood to fight. Long and hard they fought, but vines and roots strangled the lesser gods... Claws would triumph over swords... Just as the beast had the king of the gods of light in his grasp, the dark gods showed over the horizon.

Long and hard they fought, and had he continued to fight, Mimren may well have triumphed. But even as the gods wavered, he fled. He fled to an island raised from the seas by Earth. It was born of sea and of flame, of earth and of smoke. It has a name. It is Padres Del Fuego. But the gods found him even there, and so, realizing the fight to be hopeless, the creature did its last and terrible deeds: First, he cursed the island, for it had not protected him as it had promised. Secondly, he tore off the highest peak's top and cast it at the gods, and lastly, the flung himself down into the crater... into the Earth's blood.

Snick. A sound of a quick, clean cut echoes through the cavern. The you and your companions have come far to this island to retrieve the treasure, but to no avail... In the dead of night, your companions were taken. Snick. Another cut. Slurping noises... You come to a cavern that wreaks of rot. There you see three silken sacks hanging from the ceiling. They squirm, and you see a steel-blue dagger sticking out of one. It's your captain's dagger! You rush forward to cut them open. Snick. Before your eyes, the first cocoon withers. Behind it, the shadowy, bloated form of a spider looms... It eyes you greedily. You want to run, but it speaks to you so soothingly... "Come to me... Don't you want to stay for a while? I can make all your dreams come true... A home for your family; wealth and good health; stay with me." A smell of death sweeps over you; a smell of rotting corpses, but you don't run... It's strangely intoxicating. The creature leaps at you. Before you know what has happened, you've been bitten. "Sleep darling. You'll never have to wake again... And so, another victim claimed by Arachne-Arana, demon-goddess of spiders; darkness; undeath.

David Stormrage 07-20-2010 07:15 PM

That is a really captivating story. Plus with the illustrations it's even better. You cold be like a graphic novel writer. I don't really like graphic novels, (My sister is into them.) but I would seriously read something like this. All the pictures have amazing detail. I'm not a good artist, and when someone has the patience to draw so many tentacles all intertwined and stuff I can see they're a good artist and have the potential to be very very good. All in all AWESOME!!!!
