I was on Abassa just now to find some public ships, and I had to go AFK to answer my phone. I was sitting here, Monica was flipping her coin, and I watching people run around and the various discussions going on (gotta love Abassa sometimes) and noticed, as usual, a bunch of people doing the PVP glitch.
Now...I'm using my boyfriend's computer which has 2 very high-end graphics cards and is literally less than 3 months old. But I've been kicked off when I've been around the PVP glitchers several times. The whole screen locks up and I have to ctrl-alt-del to get the game to close. But I want to know if they are able to crash other people while in PVP glitch. The reason I ask is because I witnessed a high-level pirate who was in glitch mode walk up to 3 other pirates who were AFK (this was on the 'less busy' beach with the tattoo parlor and the searchable well), and he would stand there for a second and then those pirates would disappear as though they had logged. I have only ever experienced this problem when around the PVP glitchers (who, by the way, irritate me to death...LAG!). Is it them or the game itself? Forgot to mention that he did, indeed, walk up to me and stand there a second before I froze up... |
As far as I know the only way to crash someone in pvp glitch is for both of you to be in pvp glitch, then he kill you while you are in the jail. Basically if you are in pvp glitch and get killed in jail, it crashes you.
for you...it's probably the fact that you were in abassa, very crowded server. |
I was online yesterday and a friend of mine told me everyone on Abassa was booted due to the PvP glitch, sure enough, the entire server was quiet.
If that's really what's happening, hopefully it stops people from actually doing this glitch.. |
Wow...a quiet Abassa...how weird that would be LOL.
And yes, my understanding was that you could only crash others if you were both in the glitch, but considering people find new things every day in the game I wasn't sure... Oddly enough, when I play on my Dell laptop (which is about 2 years old and still going strong) I have no problems on Abassa other than some moderate lag. =? |
I think PVP glitchers should find a different server, as if abassa doesnt have enough lag already! If PVP glitchers used a different server it would be a win for everyone we would get less lag in abassa and they wouldnt have to be asked "how do you do that?" every five seconds ad they would also have less lag.
|
Better yet they could just quit doing it all together...
|
Yeah but like thats ever going to happen...
I mean look at how many times Disney has fixed it and they just take a week and find another way to do it. They won't stop until every single way has been fixed. All we can do is find out how they do it and send in a bug report. |
And play in a different server. If that server has a million and one issues why go there?
|
Because they are narcissistic, attention seeking, thrill junkies who care nada....:)
|
Lol its funny hearing ur comments cuz im a pvp glitcher . Seafox is right we wanna get attn cuz what is there to do in there game when u have played 3 years lol so what we do is we go in pvp glitch and we crash noobs who hate us lol NOTE the only way to crash is kill someone on a ship or kill them in jail thats all the reason u crash is cuz of lag
|
Lol wow, you think its funny to crash people? Wonder how funny its gonna be when you get reported. You agreed to Disney's Code of no using third party stuff, and pvp glitch is considered that. I just have one question for you Jello743... how much attention do you need in pvp glitch to get banned personally by someone?
|
Pvp is a glitch exploit not a third party program that modifies the game to the players liking.
for example the speed hack was with cheat engine which is a third party program and would get you banned or even terminated. PVP glitch is just a bug in the game that players have found and are now exploiting it for their amusement, and like all bugs it must be fixed! |
Most people in the pvp glitch are not very nice, trust me. But overall, the glitch is fun and brings in unlimited. Nearly all of my old friends quit because of the old way getting fixed which mean the game lost money. I do agree that we should find another server to glitch on so it does not hurt abassa.
|
I would suggest to Disney, a separate PvP-only/PvP-everywhere server. But that wouldn't stop bad people from messing with abassa - abassa will always be abassa. Why Disney tolerates people harassing their customers and destabilizing their servers, with nary a 24 hr autoban, is a mystery to me. (Programatically, anyone in PvP mode 10 minutes or more could just be autobanned.)
But I won't suggest Disney do that. Abassa will always be abassa. Anyone going there, pretty much deserves what they get. (Yes, network saturation of abassa affects other servers - fortunately, not much.) I'd much rather see new content. Now that cheat engine is crippled (HOORAY!) they can move forward, I hope. |
At least only about three months till The Curse of the Muertos Moon if it is still here, we won't need pvp glitch during this event, everyone would be forced into a pvp battle everywhere. Good thing I already know everything of the Curse of the Muertos Moon, be inside, or on a ship to avoid the curse, and only come out till the moon wanes. But for now, we must know the pvp glitch as a permanent feature of POTCO.

I pay good money to play the game and put up with people being annoying cusses because I enjoy the game enough to do so. But it does kind of offend me that I 'deserve' getting booted because I choose to go on Abassa in order to find open ships for my gold funds, and possibly to attain some new player friends. I will attest to the fact that the times of day I am able to play there are typically no open ships (or are of the light variety) on any other server but Abassa...be they quiet or ideal. While I understand that yes, there are some out there, it's highly inconvenient (and hard on my computer) to have to server hop up to 12 or 13 times before finding a ship that is open, has the capacity for me to not be wasting time earning gold, etc. Simply because I choose the sensible place for the most options to be doesn't mean I deserve getting booted. I see what you're saying and I don't completely disagree, nor am I arguing. I just think that not everyone deserves punishment for the actions of others. /shrug. --passes around the bottle of rum-- :rumgt7: |
I don't think there's really a need for adult servers, but rather PvP servers. Disney has fixed the PvP glitch so many times, they should just give the players what they want. Having PvP servers would deplete the purpose of spending time doing the PvP glitch, making it a win-win situation.
I do agree they need to be giving out more punishments to those that take part in the glitch though. It may be fun for those doing it, but it's messing with other players (such as the crashing). |
I agree with Sven a PVP server would be better than an adult server, your forgetting that this is a Disney game and it is intended for ages 8 to 13.
|
I think both types of servers would be fabulous, and I'd take either or both if they'd give them to us and be happy. I'd never use the PVP server myself, but it'd be good to have it for those who like PVP. And I personally get tired of "DO U HAVE A BF?!?" and related statements or queries. I know and am constantly reminded it's geared toward a younger audience, but I am allowed delusional wishes and fantasies of my perfect POTCO game like everyone else. ;)
As I've said, I deal with what I don't like in the game because I enjoy playing. One has to take the bad along with the good. (And sometimes put the bad on ignore or report them if they are particularly rude... =P ) Rarely do the 'don't likes' outweigh the 'likes' of the game. But if I had my druthers in the Caribbean, I'd want an Open Chat only server as an option (not requirement for Open Chat), because of personal preference. Disney will likely never institute either type of server and people will always exploit and abuse the game in some fashion. Such is the way of the world, I suppose. Also, as far as the original post is concerned, thanks to everyone who replied. I've not had much issue with anything lately, but I've not been on much during a 'rush-hour' time frame, either. (Thankfully.) |
Just a point of clarification: I didn't mean you "deserve" to be crashed, I meant you deserve to have to listen to the dingbats on tugabassa, if you subject yourself to being there. For me, gold farming on public ships, means avoiding Tortuga - especially late at night if only Abassa / Andaba are ideal.

a fault or defect in a computer program, system, or machine. Pvp GLITCH is a BUG if u dont know what a Compuert bug means heres the define : A software bug is the common term used to describe an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result. |
Im not sure where people get the time to find these glitches.
Edit:Also anyone else notice how rude and illmannered they can be(not all are but a majority are). |
Ok Edward, thanks...one of those things I wasn't really sure what was meant since I'm reading it and not hearing it said to me. =) I typically teleport to Cuba or Padres before switching to Abassa as they usually have fewer people. Abassa's Tortuga scares me to be honest. o.0
And I've wondered the same thing myself many times, Jason. LOL. |
yea the only way to get crashed is for both of you to be in pvp glitch. when they kill you they will keep reviving you but not fully. they will say go to jail and if they kill you in jail your crashed, you get a never ending loading screen and your player is offline. abassa crashed because there were a whole bunch of pvp glitchers and well it just crashed to get all of them gone.
|
I have on occasion tried to do the PVP glitch (only to fail miserably I must add xD), however I have always done it on a quiet server, so I disrupt as few people as possible. And for those of you that think its FUNNY to crash other people, do realize that you are making another player's gaming experience go down because of that. Seriously, if you have ANY consideration for other people, dont crash people, lag them, or do anything that can give them a bad experience online. Personally, they should just make a PVP server and/or island so that people will lose the motivation to use this glitch.
|
Using any bug/glitch/error to your advantage and everyone else's disadvantage is considered cheating and player griefing. Everyone who does it on purpose should be rewarded with a short ban and longer bans as they continue to disrupt everyone time.
One way to insure that new subscribers never come to this game is by allowing these types of issues to continue. Most people want to play for fun, not get griefed or cheated. It is sad to see Disney not lifting a finger to solve this ongoing issue. -( |
PvP-only servers would at least divide the amount of PvP glitchers. I know that some do the glitch for attention, while others do it just for fun. Having a PvP only server would at least draw those who do the glitch for fun to that respective server. They may be heavily outweighed compared to those who want attention, but I would think that any decrease in the number of PvP glitchers would help.
Adult only servers serve no purpose. For one, you can have those who lie about their age to get on that server, and then bring the trouble over with them. Also, just because one is of a mature age, doesn't make them mature. I've seen older players who act down-right terrible, and yet I also see younger players who have such fine attitudes and maturity levels. "You can only be young once, but you can be immature all your life." ;) |
What exactly is the PVP glitch, all I've seen relating to PVP is some level 50's all with red level tags killing each other.
