Doc Grog Crab Quest bug
 

For some reason, no matter how many giant crabgs I kill on Driftwood Island the quest doesn't even search for those ellusive 2 shark entrails.
I don't know what to do. The Black Pearl Quest can't progress without them.
Help!

I have this same problem. And if you notice the task say GIANT CRABS but the description says ROCK CRABS. Neither will work and you also have no guiding ray of light as the description states you should.

Hi... Your both not alone! I have the same problem! I have leveled up 3 weapons shooting the darn things! (no I am not joking sad to say)

I think it's been going on 3 days now.

I sent in a screen shot where it shows the Rock Crab, Giant Crab issues mentioned above.

As far as the guiding light.. did either of you noticed on the task before, there was an arrow and light on Driftwood??

Yeah the light is gone for me too, and I have shot every crab they have but no luck.
I've reported the bug twice, but so far no fix.
The name discrepancy makes me wonder if it's something else entirely that we have to get.
But I am leveling up like crazy. LOL

This is also driving me crazy as well I hope they fix it, or i can not progress i nthe main quest!

Add me to the list, I've even tried going to other islands and taking on other tasks ... still no luck in getting this thing to move on. I was a lvl18 when I started and now I'm almost to lvl 20 just from shooting these crabs.

Kinda reminds me of the South Park episode where they were killing wild Boar in WOW to get their levels up - lol

It must be the quest itself, because I went on another minor quest for 11 giant crabs and got them all. But the 2 with entrails still remain hidden, or unattainable, or bugged.
I want to move forward with the story quest!!!:rip:

I'm glad to see others are having the same problem with this task.

I have leveled up 3 times with 2 different weapons for this task. When I originally started on this task several days ago, I did have a ray of light to the island, but I thought I would sink some ships on my way. By the time I got to the island the ray of light was gone, and no entrails were found.

I hope the problem gets fixed soon, I'm getting tired of killing crabs. ;)

In my quest I need to recover two engraved pearls from two rock crabs. I am also stuck on this quest. I even went to the on-line help chat and was told to try and kill the giant crabs. I said I tried that already. killing the giant crabs did not help me finish my quest too. When I sent in the bug report. I was sent a letter. remeber this is still in the beta phase. I do hope this is fixed soon. Looks like the crabs have turned into bugs.:rip:

What did you do. I can not seen to find the two engraved pearls from the two rock crabs. Where did you go? It does not seem fixed to me.:rip:

Oh sorry to hear that. I used the new Test load desktop icon. Maybe you didn't download that yet?

Now I want to know...where is the Huge Gator? I couldn't find it in Cuba like the guide here suggests.

Yes, I did download the test acct. It say potc test. All I know this is a pain not being able to finish the quest. :h-skull:

The huge gators are in fact in Cuba but dont go into the cave. Just hang around right outside the cave entrance and eventually a huge gator will show up. But be careful because I have noticed that gators like to attack in pairs right there.

went to cuba myself too. found them I did. The huge gator. Not in the cave but right outside from them. Now if only I can finish my quest. I do not like crabs anymore.:h-mad:

Ahoy! :h-smile: i had this same problem...i thought it was fixed in the test launch because i finally got them. I found a rock crab right at the bottom of the Misty Mire bridge in Tortuga...there is a rock at the bottom and there appears the Rock crab. Got 2 pearls from the first 2 crabs.....i went back to get the 15 entrails soon after and got em all from that 1 crab! Hope that helps :rip:

Many Thanks. I found the two engraved pearls. Now I am starting to crew nill. I thought I would never finish that quest, well with the little help I recieved from the on-line help and the bug report I sent in. :h-smile:

i'm having the same problem matey.

For the 2 ROCK CRABS for Doc Grog, you have to go to the Misty Mire on tortuga. Kill the rock crabs there. That is the way to concinue on with the quest.
I also thought it was a bug at the time, but someone told me what to do. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I did find one in Tortuga, in the swamp. I really had to search every nook and cranny of that place too. But luckily it attacked me!?
And wouldn't you know there's plenty more things to fetch for old Doc Grog after you finish that. Groan.
