The Lost Hero ~ Heroes of Olympus

Ok, how many of you have read the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan? To those of you that have: ISN'T IT THE BEST SERIES EVARR? To those of you that haven't: dood.... go to a bookstore.

I've read all of the original books at least 4 times each. When The Last Olympian came out, the 5th book, I devoured it in about two nights. When I found out it was the end, I think I was going to cry. It beats Harry Potter, Ranger's Apprentice, and any other book series in my opinion.

A few days ago, the next legacy in the Camp Half-Blood series was released, The Lost Hero, part of the new series, Heroes of Olympus. I am currently reading this book, and it is really good so far; however I highly doubt that it can beat the original series. Either way, it seems like it will be amazing. Any of you reading this book or have heard of it?

Dog Firestack 10-20-2010 02:06 AM

Holy cow! Really?! I'm going to read this totally, thanks for saying!

Roger Sharkshot 10-20-2010 02:43 AM

oh yeah its awesome i have to buy it i read the first chapter at borders

Tiberius Fireskull 10-20-2010 03:43 AM

I know right! I was able to eat up to page 145 today, in a combination of reading in class (I'm so bad... xD) and reading it at home. And speaking of Rick Riordan's books, anyone read The Red Pyramid? That one is really good too.

Roger Sharkshot 10-21-2010 03:44 AM

nope i should though if i get the time been very busy lately no pirates for me

Charlotte Truebonney 10-22-2010 11:26 PM

Wow, better then Harry Potter, Davy, hmm, I may just have to check them out.:mickeypiratezd4:

Countainer7b 10-24-2010 02:34 PM

it was very good as as good as the original series. I finished the book almost exactly a week ago. please post when you finish

angel 4ever 10-25-2010 08:49 PM

i got all the books its totally awesome! i been trying to tell ppl about it most of my friends just ignored it i was like come on!! haha i loved the first series i first found it like a year or 2 ago i loved it! and i was so sad when it was like the last book haha glad there r more of his books to read even though they may not be the same as percy they should still be awesome! :D

CaptainMonkeys 10-26-2010 01:30 PM

Yeah, I have yet to get it. Probably gonna borrow it from a friend.

pieisbetter2 10-29-2010 02:53 AM

:O!!!!!!!!! I love this book! and i love the original percy jackson series. I'm almost all the way done with this new book. and so far its beast

Captain Jason 11-02-2010 09:29 PM

I just got this book and so far it's awesome! Don't tell me what happens, I can't read it right now cause I left it at school :( Red pyramid was good too, and I like the Ranger's Apprentice books too. Oh yeah, and it took me way to long to figure out the name. :laughks2: If you didn't get the name, it's because you know Percy is the hero, and he's lost.... yeah......

Tiberius Fireskull 11-02-2010 11:20 PM

I think thats why the title is called The Lost Hero, but I think it has to do with Jason. If you think about it, he is lost in his mind. He is a hero, so he is a Lost Hero as well. Its sort of like finding the people portrayed as Mockingbirds in To Kill a Mockingbird, its all based on opinion and view of the character.

I finished the book a few days ago. Amazing story. I think that the next book is called The Son of Neptune, but I'm not sure. Yes, Neptune, not Poseidon.

Captain Jason 11-03-2010 12:01 AM

Does anyone know the name of the next book in the the Red Pyramid series?
P.S. Wasn't neptune Posideon's Roman name or something?

Tiberius Fireskull 11-03-2010 01:30 AM

Aye, Neptune = Poseidon, Jupiter = Zues, Juno = Hera, Venus = Aphrodite, Vulcan = Hephaestus, Terra = Gaea, and so on. I think I know all of the Roman to Greek names....

Captain Jason 11-04-2010 08:56 PM

I'm about to finish the book, he's talking to the god of wind, I forgot his name and I'm doing homework right now.

Anne Heartbreaker 11-07-2010 01:42 PM

Don't get me started on the failness of the movie. I wanted to scream at the end of it because it was so off. :'(

angel 4ever 11-07-2010 06:51 PM

i know! its like come on!? they like totally made up the end and skiped alot of good parts in the book :(

Countainer7b 11-09-2010 06:38 AM

personally i think that the whole problem is that rick rerdon didn't write the screen play for the movie. the same think happened to ray bradbery's book fahrenheit 451 and the movie wasn't anything like the book. the goo news is that at least the hunger games by Suzanne Collins is being turned into a movie with the screen play written by her.

SEAKING23 11-09-2010 05:52 PM

i've read it

i read it. take my word for it. its AWESOME!!!

SEAKING23 12-30-2010 03:57 AM

Offical Pery jackson and the olmypois/ the heros of olympusthrea

Well this sereis is popular, so i wanted to make a thread about it!

Just so you guys know, next kane book is coming out may 2011, next heros/olympus book fall 2011.

pieisbetter2 12-30-2010 04:31 AM

I think there is already a thread for this, but I'm not quite sure.

SEAKING23 12-30-2010 04:52 AM

There isn't.

I' just wondering, how do you guys think Riordan will right the next heros/olympus book? DO you think he will right it first person through percy's eyes just like the last time? Or maybe the same way the lost hero was written, but with more people "eyes" to switch from?

Roger Sharkshot 01-09-2011 06:20 PM

Just got the book on Friday and finished it two and a half days later i cant believe i waited so long well it was a long line at my school library and i was reading rangers apprentice, but take my word its awesome. The second book is probably gonna be how they find Percy and the third and probably last when they have the big battle. The Son of Neptune = The Son of Poseidon = Percy Jackson.

The Stealthy Pirate 01-26-2011 09:49 PM

i agree with container, but did anyone see the part AFTER the credits, it kind of cool and has actually has a little bit do to with The Lightning Thief ( shocker i know ) so you should watch it if you havent seen it... btw people i dont think there will be a second red pyramid book, but there might be

SEAKING23 01-26-2011 10:09 PM

Yes there is going to be a new red pyramid, coming out march '11. next lost hero coming fall '11.

Tiberius Fireskull 01-27-2011 12:34 AM

There is a second book in the Kane Chronicles called The Throne of Fire. The next book in the Heroes of Olympus series is The Son of Neptune. Probably Percy...

Roger Sharkshot 01-27-2011 01:56 AM

IT official i went to rick Riordan demigod site and it said he officially announced there will be 5 books total in the hero's of Olympus series. I cant wait for the second one.

Captain Sharktooth 01-28-2011 03:56 AM

I have read all of them except the Last Olympian. I just figured out yesterday they were coming out with a new series.... Someone in my English class told me. As for the movie, :P It stunk. Also, I had to see it twice in the span of about 3 days!

The Stealthy Pirate 02-01-2011 04:22 PM

I think everyone was excited to see what the movie was like, but when they saw it, it is downright AWFUL!

The Stealthy Pirate 02-08-2011 12:32 AM

By the way everyone... The Throne of Fire by: Rick Riordan is coming out on May 3, 2011.

Countainer7b 02-08-2011 02:54 PM

i know i pre-ordered it. also does anyone think they can recite the greek equivalents of the 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets. i know i can.

The Stealthy Pirate 02-09-2011 01:19 AM

prove it.

This message needs to be at least 10 characters long.

Tiberius Fireskull 02-09-2011 02:09 AM

Hermes, Aphrodite, Terra/Gaea, Ares, Demeter, Zeus, Cronos/Kronos, Ouronus, Poseidon, Hades, Eris.

I win.

Countainer7b 02-09-2011 05:33 AM

first off davy your write but saturn is spelled Cronos

Tiberius Fireskull 02-09-2011 05:33 AM

I know, but in Percy Jackson Riordan spells it with a K for some reason...

Countainer7b 02-09-2011 05:35 AM

well typo strangely enough he spells it right in the roman to greek god thingy

I liked it, but at the same time I couldn't help complaining throughout the movie about how far off it was. I don't even remember them putting in some of the most importatant things. They missed the final scene with Luke too, Percy knew he was evil far to early.

SEAKING23 02-09-2011 10:28 PM

The movie was an E.P.I.C fail. enough said. the people who made didn't even read it, i'll bet you a lot of gold on that.

Captain Hector 03-07-2011 04:28 AM

the new series is good, but i wish it was FIRST character instead of... third, maybe. no, its second... oh idk. but, i like how it focuses on one person each chapter. but, maybe first person AND focusing on one character... well, the first series was great!

Tiberius Fireskull 03-07-2011 04:33 AM

Sorta like in The Red Pyramid? Aye, I sorta prefer first person for this series. Its not a big deal, but I liked it a lot in Percy Jackson.

Bluepengie 03-13-2011 05:33 PM

i've read all his books, AND THE'RE SO AWSOME!!!
