Black Ops Just came out!!

I just got it yesterday and it's amazing. I like the mix of Modern and WWII era guns and although I have barely started it, the campaign is so far amazing. So far my favorite online mode is Demolition and my weapon of choice is the M16 with Red Dot and Extended Mags with a launcher as the secondary. I really enjoy Combat training because I just feel like a Juggernaut running through AI with my LMG and then earning a Chopper Gunner to wipe out 20 more. Also I like Combat training because it's like a place to test out guns and kill streaks and anything that suits you.

Sorry for the double post, but I needed to bump this thread. Also if anyone hasn't figured out how to unlock the other 2 zombie maps, "Five" and Dead Ops Arcade then here's a tutorial.

1. Go to Main Menu.
2. Look down at your hands. ( IN GAME )
3. Rapidly press the left and right triggers.
4. Go behind the chair to the computer and hold down whatever it tells you ( X for Xbox ) to access the computer.
5. Type in on the computer 3ARC UNLOCK and then click ENTER.
6. Go to zombie mode and select either one of the maps.
7. ????
8. PROFIT :D

Online play is pretty wicked. Boy am I a master at those tomahawks.... As well as the ballistic knives...

CODBO is my first shooter game, ever. I was very... cautious when I bought the game. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not, and I only played one COD for about an hour with a friend beforehand. COD3 seemed ok to me, but a lot of people I know started buying the game, and one of the reasons I buy a game is for online play. I figured a few million people would buy the game, and they did, so I never have problems getting into an online match with people.

The campaign was fun, and at about 8 hours it was only short 3 extra hours that I played for each of the sly cooper games. I have to admit, though, online is tough sometimes, which makes it so fun.

Ah... You've been missing out. The First-Person Shooter is my favorite genre for a reason. I you have X360, I would recommend the Halo series as well. If PS3, Killzone is cool. Good controls and the like. Also, if you are in the market for EPIC 256 player multiplayer, I'd say MAG. It's fun and chaotic, and is a nice change from the other First Person Shooters, in which you have superhuman abilities...

I agree with Witch Doctor, the FPS genre is so broad and always expanding. I nevered played Killzone myself, but watched it being played and it's pretty good. I've never played MAG, but I heard a lot about it and read the reviews and although it has a large about of players in a match people have said it's extremely laggy even with Sony's superior servers. Halo in my opinion basically invented the FPS genre and continues to revamp it and improve it.

Haha, I play black ops too!... but for the Wii! Wii is like xbox live without the inappropriate kids.. :)

Technically, Doom invented it. However, Halo set the bar. They do say that CoD might fulfill an almost 10 year old prophecy... Can it be the Halo Killer? Well, it is creating stiff competition and *might* just beat it with it's next release. Many Halo players are slowly going to CoD now that Bungie backed out. Anyways, back on topic. It seems all of my Xbox Live friends are on Black Ops, owning zombies on Five and such. I have to say, it's one of my favorite games of all time, competing with Halo 1 and 2. So, I'm just gonna go play a few matches right now...:tg20:

Black Ops is really good, I say best COD to date. However, it's still not the best FPS.

My favoret FPS has to be MAG, it's fun if you have a good internet connection. Also GoldenEye 007 for Wii is really good... But nothing can beat the original GoldenEye for N64.

I do like the Zombie Mode on it though, it's really fun ( Stupid Evil Teddy Bear >.< )

zomg, today i went to game stop to got try it Black Ops out,(you know how thats possible? this is because they have game stations and games to try out there.) so THATS how i know is the best game ever. Anyway, i played the first campaign mission, which i beat in lets say, 1 minute xD. Then zombie mode. Zombie mode is awesome. It has me ADDICTED to it. I then had too leave because i had too go with my little cousin, whom "had to" get the new nerf gun. Anyway, my christmas present too myself will be Black Ops and a PS3. I already have Xbox 360, though.

ITS STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i played it but its not fun

I'm jealous of anyone who got Hardened or Prestige editions because I'm dying to play some Der Reise and no one seems to want to go play WaW with me. I hope they release the old maps in a DLC pack for Black Ops instead of making everyone go get Hardened/Prestige.

hahaha i MAY go on black friday and try to resist not to open it 'till christmas.... if i see someone getting an elite and black ops, ill say, "DAAAN! Im swordshot from POF!". xD (like that'll happen.) So im going to buy an PS3 not an XBOX. Reason is, free online. So now that BO is out, i HAAVE to relate it too any other games.Anyway, so, here is what i think is AWESOME about the first mission,

The Graphics are amazing and realistic and would get a 10, but sometimes when I look at in game objects it seems kinda choppy.

Controls-10
The controls for COD have always been easy to use and the same can be said for Black Ops.

Gameplay-10
Treyarch did good with Black Ops that's all I can say. New weapons and old are included in this. Also there is a lot of new features like being able to drive vehicles.

Overall Rating-9.75
The game is amazing and I can't wait to see what new content is planned for this.

If they camp, camp back. They'll then have to come for you. I helped launch that for WaW back in the old days of Xbox Live. :D

Or you could say, If you find campers remember to use the good old fashion flamethrower.

Hehehe, or if you see a camper use the exploding RC cars they put in game. That is like auto death xD

I just played this game for the first time at my friends house. Actually, the only other game I had played in the COD series was MW2, for about an hour. BO is beast. Hehe, I love using that SPAS....

The reason they put it as a lv 48 unlock is because no one could get kills with it and so they wanted to make sure no one would buy it because it's the worst weapon.

I completely agree. Never again will I go to vietnam and use a china lake. It's so useless.

The reason it's so bad is because getting a kill with it is near impossible and reloading is too slow. Although in Zombie Mode if you Pack-A-Punch it, it will be called "China Beach", and for some reason the upgraded M1911 is Dual Wielded and is called "Mustang and Sally".

lol.... anyway, zombie mode, is scary when your in a dark room with just a computer light and tv light on at around 11:30 PM... lol

LOL. In modern warfare 2, i was playing live on XBox 360 and i was at Favela. I was in the back of a very dark alley with a SPAS-12 and a AK-47 grenadier . ( And marathon pro!) When someone came walking through the alley, i pull out my SPAS and shot him. I ran out of ammo with the SPAS, so i used the AK-47 grenadier and i used the grenade launcher. When i was out of grenades, i planted a tactical and then threw a grenade near me. 3 words, I LOVE CAMPING!

Bumping this, Also whoever likes Domination listen closely to this message: If you do not Dolphin Dive to the first objective then you are not a brother!

I'm usually always in the top three when it comes to scores in domination because I'm the only one that ever goes to the objective. I usually get those most deaths, too, but I'm the only one putting my neck on the line for the better of the team.

People really need to not be such cowards and just flee to it, and make a circle around the area so when the other team comes, you have guys on the ground that will be hard to shoot, and a camper here or there to own them all.

It's quiet fun, honestly, especially when you have a team that just wants to get out there and fight.

top three mac? Im usually in 1rst with an barret 50 cal, ballistic knife and a tomahawk. My awesome class!

My favorite Class is the AK47u with Rapid Fire & Grip and my secondary is the Strela. Also I have Ghost Pro so I am not detected by those evil Helicoptors and Spy Planes that are about to get shot down by me :D.

Yup, and I just got the Hacker Pro perk so now I can see enemy equipment and steal sentry guns, and also booby trap enemy care packages.

Anyone else find the "secret" on Nuketown? A few friends and I shot all the heads off of the dummies within 10 seconds of the match start and (spoiler alert) you hear Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones! :D

Copier. Gotta love the tomahawk. It was my first day playing, and like my 4th game, so no skill involved here. just luck. But anyways, I was at the snow place on 360. I had the same gun, customized a little bit, and with the ballistic knife and the tomahawk. So this guy jumps out of this doorway and moves forward at the same time, but I threw a tomahawk at him, and it hit him in the gut; sending him backwards. It gave me 5300 points for that hit! :psmiley27: :dancetl6:

That kind of scares me, because I'm exactly the same for you except motion sensor and ghost pro. That's really close. I'm changing it around today, because I think I've gotten too used to it, and need to start a new class and see how it goes.

Besides, I don't really like the range on the AKu.

I don't know about you guys, but I've seen how useful a stealth class + decoy is in core modes. Try it out, see if you don't have the best K/D in the match! :)

What when you throw a decoy and have Ghost or Ghost Pro and wait for the enemies to come and just mow them down? Yea it's fun isn't it.

I have an idea. Post the most COD points and XP you've ever made in one round, and if possible, post a picture as evidence.

One of my friends, I'm trying to get a picture of his 'worst' money and XP which I would consider good. If he gives it to me, I'll post it.

P.S. Is 3200ish money good and 37,000ish XP good in one round? That's his second worse match, and my best doesn't come that close. If that's bad, tell me, because this is my first COD, and I want to know if I'm an average player and my friend is just amazing at the game.

That's not good... THAT'S AMAZING! But yeah your friend has skill at COD. Anyway I'll try to get a picture as evidence, but it'll only be evidence of COD Points, because I won them in a Wager Match. It was 30,000 on One in the Chamber in High Roller. Getting a picture up soon.

Ok, I don't have it yet, but here is what you do. If you think there is a camper around a corner, don't be afraid to chuck a grenade. If you don't get a kill, well then you don't get a kill. But it really helps if you have a R/C Car or spy plane...

I heard about a new COD map pack coming out in 2011 after searching the net for a bit. I hope that the new maps don't take long to get on the PS3. There's no specific date, though. Some say janurary, some say march.

If there is a new map pack then I'd want a new Zombies map. A while back their was supposed to be a 4th map pack for WaW, but it never came and in it was speculated to be an Area 51 themed zombie map. That's what I hope comes in the new map pack.

I agree, because other than the zombie arcade, two maps just doesn't seem to be enough. I hope there's a huge area if this map pack comes out. I just want more areas to battle in.

My favorite map in WaW was Der Reise, so I hope they do something like that in the next map pack.

I don't understand why they don't just keep the zombie maps from the old COD games. I mean, come on, why not? I can understand different multiplayer maps, because the maps fit the date of the gameplay storyline, and the scenery from the game, but why does zombies ever have to change?

I'd really love a variety of maps for the game. The more, the better IMO. And I'd like to see the return of the monkeybomb. That was always hilarious and useful.

They did keep the old maps, but it's only for people who bought the Hardened Edition of the game. And I have gotten the Monkey Bomb on the map "Five", but I don't think it's obtainable on "Kino Der Toten". Also have you ever thrown a Monkey Bomb into the furnace on Der Reise? It's really funny to here "Mr. Monkey Just wanted to play!".

Yeah, I think pulling a Halo: ODST wouldn't be bad. Getting all the maps from WaW with modern weapons would be fun (and a throwback). Imagine running through Downfall as a German with an Assault Rifle with a Thermal and a RPG strapped on your back looking for Red Army tanks while your comrades storm a camping spot with Akimbo Mac11s and a Chopper Gunner flying overhead and a German sniper picks off a Russian nearby with a M14. One word: Epic.

Oh, you could get old maps with the hardened edition? I wasn't even aware there were two different editions, I just thought you could preorder the game and get special bonus features.

I'll keep that in mind when I go to get the next COD. Also, can you get the old maps through a DLC? If not, that'd be a good money making scheme that they could do.

Right now you can't, although I think several stores like Gamestop and Walmart might still have the Regular ( obviously ), Hardened, and Prestige editions still in stock. And yea your right about it making good money for them. If the maps are released for DLC then it won't be for a few months unless Treyarch wants to give us a nice Christmas present :D.

Also I saw this game won GOTY for Best Shooter. Maybe the GOTY edition will come with the old maps.

The new zombie map is called [SPOILER! :O] Ascension and, judging by the name, will take place in Russia. It is named after the Ascension group in the Campaign. At least that is the word around the Net.

I actually had the ability to pick this game up for the Wii for myself, and although the Wii is infamous for often creating poor rehashes of good games - well, least to say, I was pleasantly suprised :)

I haven't gotten around to playing it much, but I must comment that I like the realism of the Online Multiplayer. I'll put my friend code up on my profile later, if we have any trigger-happy Wii players out there ;)

The graphics are good for the Wii, I agree. At least SOME console made graphical improvements with Black Ops. On X360 it looks like MW2. Exactly like it. On PS3 it looks worse (slightly, very slightly) for NO real reason, an attempt at subliminal marketing by the money-hungry golden god Activision. /grumble

Why does everyone care about graphics? I mean where I came from, my psp to be exact, we had no RC-XDs and UAVs. No, we had a little tiny area map and we had to go in and hunt them down. Onto the graphics... I mean, we had enough graphics to where you could see their face, and thats about it. I mean in most levels you could always see this giant blob of pixels. We didn't have blood and all these cool looking explosions. We had a puff of smoke and the a crack. That was a lethal Grenade. Even when we satchled a car or something it was a crack and a puff of smoke. Back to BO. I don't see what the difference graphics does to a game. I admit this is my first CoD game, but still, what is the difference? So what, this looks like MW2. I mean, would you want a cool looking game but bad story line? I don't know why I keep rambling on and on, but I guess my point is to always appreciate something, for when it is gone, it is gone for good...

Graphics don't define a game, but they do help to make it better. If I could get a copy of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with COD level graphics then I wouldn't hesitate to get it. Also the main reason we're complaining about BO's graphics, is because they've used the same engine since COD 4, and that was 4 COD games ago.

Honestly... graphics are cool and all, but if you have the most amazing graphics, it doesn't matter if the game stinks.

Having said that, CODBO could have been pretty amazing, had the developers cared about what the players wanted. Let's look at an example. Where's silver gun camo? Where's bronze camo? Where's glow in the dark(only you can see) camo? Hmm...? These are literally things I just came up with at the top of my head, and they're not in the game? Why? Don't tell me you wouldn't want such cool camo? Speaking for myself, I want silver camo over gold. What about at prestige 10? And bronze at 5?

I'm serious, we need more maps, cool areas to fight on, tons of more maps for zombies, etc... I love the game, don't get me wrong, but simple things like making guns look cooler and more maps is all it takes to keep me busy. Make prestiging worth something. What about being able to hold 30 more bullets once you reach prestige 15 for 200,000 coins? Sounds like a lot, but that's some goal to keep me busy.

I'm serious, keep us busy, keep the game fun, and I'll be happy. I want to see acid pits in the zombie areas to play with, and bombs that planes drop during certain rounds. I'm just saying, little things could make the replay value endless.

If you want all that, I have one word for ya Mate. Wii. Heck, we don't have all the Modes as other systems.

One Zombie map, No easter eggs, No customization (Other then Camo), and No Split Screen Multiplayer. Heck, we have less killstreaks on the Wii.

All they need to do to keep me into it. Give me what I payed 60.00 dollars for. THE WHOLE GAME.

The reason Wii doesn't have many features is because Activision just doesn't care as much about it than the 360 or the PS3. Also they know that less people buy it for Wii than 360 or PS3 so they limit them. Also Microsoft and Sony pay developers more for games to release content than Nintendo does.

Lol. I suck at this game xD Though, it was fun when me and my friends played in Nuketown, free for all with only C4 and Explosive Crossbow's. We also did just Ballistics Knives a couple rounds lol.

I know! Nuketown is my favorite map....

If there weren't as many M60 "Newbs" in Black Ops I might actually try to use only balistic knives on Nuketown...

No, it's because the Wii is less high-tech, and can't hold as much on a disk or run as much as the others. I believe Infinity Ward said, and I paraphrase: "We would like to make MW2 for the Wii, but it just doesn't have the power to fulfill our ambitions. And, if we can provide a better experience on it than other consoles, than we will gladly switch to it."

Wii gamers have to accept the fact that the Wii has inferior hardware, but makes up for it with family friendly, fun, and addictive games.

Except even Wii is becoming obsolete with their Family friendly gaming experience because of Xbox Kinect starting to take it's fanbase with the ability to play family friendly games without having to pick up a controller.

True, but Xbox + Kinect = $300, while Wii = $150 (I think). So, the Wii has one thing going for it. That's the only thing, I think.

Unless you already had an Xbox, which a lot of people did. So the price would only be $150.

On the subject of the First Strike Map Pack I'd like to discuss the maps with you all.
Berlin Wall- Supposed to take place near a wall in Berlin ( Obviously :D ). Will have doors that open manually through switches probably.

Discovery- Looks similar to the level "Project Nova", only 20 years later.

Stadium- Supposed to take place in a Hockey Stadium in the North-Eastern United States.

Kowloon- Similar to the mission of the same name, "Kowloon"

Ascension- New zombie map, though not much is known about it yet.

I'm already prestige 2 with the PS3 online play! If you see anyone named Vonski27 out there, good luck! (that's me)
