PvP Tournament/Competition
 

In order to promote friendship among the community, have fun, and earn yourself some PvP Infamy, I'm hosting a Player vs. Player tournament. This event isn't limited to PNC; anyone can participate! If you're interested in joining, just post in this thread. Please include your pirate's name and Notoriety level, and I'll update this post with the list of participants.

(Re)Scheduled Date: Saturday, April 2
Location: Royal Anchor Tavern, Port Royal, Kokojillo
Times: 2:00 PM PDT, 3:00 PM MDT, 4:00 PM CDT, 5:00 PM EDT

• Participants may decide what weapons are allowed with their opponents. If the two participants cannot find an agreement, the match will be blades only.
• No glitches, hacks, etc.
• No arguing, booing of other participants, etc.
• No jumping.
• Failure to follow any of the above listed rules will result in disqualification.
• No attacking your match referee unless she is also your opponent.

Rules are subject to change.

Pirates will be selected at random to fight each other. The tournament style is single elimination; meaning that if you lose, you're out. The match will be 1v1 Mayhem, and I'll be refereeing. If you're waiting for your match to start, just sit tight in the tavern. And, by all means, invite your friends to cheer you on!

Aye Sharktooth, that's what I was thinking. SS guild meeting is an hour before that. We'll probably not be done by then... although if you moved it forward an hour or two, I would be glad to attend.

As a suggestion, perhaps we could have separate matches, each with different rules. For example, we could have Blades Only matches, Gunpowder only matches, or voodoo only matches. Up to you, that's just a suggestion.

And what if I accidently hit you with some kind of weapon that can hit multiple players? Does that count?

Moved the time forward, Davy. :) And I like your suggestion, but I'd have to re-work the tournament to implement it. Depending on the number of participants, I'll host a second tourney at a later time with your idea implemented.

That's understandable. But, I'll be watching from the area at the top of the stairs, so nothing should be able to hit me.

Okay, good. I wouldn't want to be trying to chop someone in half with a broadsword and accidently get myself disqualified. The only thing that might hit you could be daggers....

P.S The only problem is that if someone looses they will get disqualified and they get bored sitting in the tavern.

Would it be allowed if they wanted to do some PVP on there own?

If they're disqualified or eliminated, they're free to leave. If they want to stay and mingle, see the results of matches, etc., that's fine too. If they're disqualified/eliminated, they can't PvP with participants until the participants are done. What they do outside of the tournament is up to them, however.

Alright, updated the first post with all current participants. There's still plenty of open spaces; don't hesitate to sign up! Also, I'm thinking that at the end of the tournament, if those who were eliminated stick around, we'll have a giant Mayhem match -- watching you guys fight will be fun and all, but I'd like to get some Infamy too. ;)

And remember: this competition isn't about winning or losing, it's more about gaining PvP Infamy and having fun. If this tournament is successful, I'll definitely host more. :)
