Test Release Notes - May 4, 2011

• The Queen Anne's Revenge has set sail. Be on the lookout.
• If ye be brave enough to attempt to face her wrath, ye must disable, grapple and board her vessel.
• The Queen Anne's Revenge employs new enslaved enemies and boss as her crew. A crew of mates is highly suggested.
• Blackbeard's Ship has been known to stalk the Wild Islands. Consult your World Map to find her path.
• Added in-game messaging to announce the Queen Anne's whereabouts.

Wow! This is gonna be awesome! I hope it hits live real soon!!! I guess it's like a fleet of one ship that only appears at certain time, like the fleets?

Oooh, this will be really cool. Someone post some screenshots. I can't wait to see this. Look's like Queen Anne's Revenge is the bow that broke water after all.

This is the only screenshot I can provide so far. Queen Anne's Revenge has yet to show herself. We are still wandering around at sea, though, in hopes of finding her.

Woot!!! Finally an update!!!
What I don't understand is how you can board it. Does every ship get to board at once when its HP reaches 0? Or does first ship with most hooks get to board it?
Cant wait to see the boss too!

Is this going to part of a quest or it's just a random thing without a true purpose other than just showing up like the invasions and fleets? I am really interested to know.

Testers keep the rest of us informed and post lost of screenshots, but more importantly test thoroughly to get any bug and glitch away from open.

She will learn to fear me.....

Was on test for quite a few hours tonight & didn't see any updates yet. But, I certain they will appear in the near future.

I was on too did not see a thing i mean the announce it and every thing but it ant there it might be on too night.

I hate it when they announce it and when it ant there its kinda annoying.

Also, mates there are two new bosses on the Cutthroat and Cangrejos. The two brothers who are now the French and Spanish bosses.

yes i saw i was fighting the won on Cangrejos :degen: strong little devil As most as strong as dark hart.Better take some body too heal you.

Fought the Queen Anne's Revenge today. The map shows the path of her like the EITC fleet. Waves are involved-but haven't figured that out yet. I had to tp to a pirate who got on board-maybe you have to grapple ship first-idk. They are a strong crew, indeed-when I managed to board, pirates were KO'ed all over the Revenge. I got KO'ed trying to revive, then my computer froze. Can't locate the screenshots that I took-they are not in the same place that I find my screenshots or maybe I lost them when I froze & had to force my computer to shut-down. We did not see Blackbeard, BTW......

I'll look in the phase files see if I find anything

I have not seen Black beard At all.Did you guys get any kinda items after defeting the Queen Anne

According to the latest news, you have to use the sword of triton to defeat the crew.. However I'm not sure that would work.

The 2 new bosses are both lv 35.
The queen Anne is a lv 39 legendary ship, with red sails and cool design. Looks kinda like a galleon.
None of them show the crew tho.

If you go see the movie when it comes out you might get a code to unlock a special online quest, at the end you will probably get to battle this as the boss and Blackbeard could be added.

What are the new enemies? Im dying to know! Are they zombies?

Is she easy to disable and board?

Not too difficult to disable & board. But, once you board-LOL I think I saw a boss on ship that was level 70-could be the lighting though. Ya need healers & lots of tonic! And from what I understand, you need the Triton to defeat the crew on the Anne. I spent my time healing & reviving since my test pirate is not that strong.

About needing the Trition, do other weapons just do nothing or do they have their attack reduced?

The Queen Anne's Revenge is Lv39-41, Legendary Ship class. She uses Roundshot for both deck guns and broadsides. Has maybe the same HP as a Fleet War Frigate, probably more. She deals about the same damage, more or less.
The enemies on board are indeed zombies. Yes, other weapons do damage to them. The enemies are Jumbee [Insert Rank]. The boss is LaSchafe, around Lv70, dealing massive damage.

What weapons do they use, and does the boss use the same weapon?

The crew of the Anne look like pirates in PVP. We had 3 ships attack her before we disabled her to board. Didn't plan that, it just happened. Things seem to happen so fast once she was boarded. I think the enemy uses only swords, but if I am wrong-someone please correct me. Apparently the first ship to grapple her gets to board. If you tp to someone on the Anne-the enemy is invisible to some. The enemy comes at you in 3 waves-the Level 70 being in the last wave. It is all new. I am relating what I saw & heard. Again, if I am incorrect in some information, please correct me. It is quite awesome & very close to a real sea battle. But, my pirate was a bit intimidated & very happy to have a great crew at my side.

whoa.... a Legendary ship? I sure hope it isn't hard to find her like legendary weapons.

Ok, I'm about to get on test and scout for the bosses and the Queen Anne. Anyone have a photo of the crew yet?

Hard to tell in this picture, but LaSchafe is Lv69. His overall levels are Lv69-71, I believe.

The boss is tough, id say a little bit weaker than foul

- gulp - Well I think I need to get prepared. What are her broadsides like? Are they tough?

I was hoping that any ship could board her, as long as they have a grapple spot open, and you'd only be able to shoot 1 grapple at her. That way more people can help.

I think its a great update by POTCO. More sea boarding and fighting, and a great challenge. I salute you, POTCO staff.

As far as I saw, it really doesn't do anything. If it does do something, please say so.

First part is the 2 new land bosses. They seem pretty strong, and do a ton of damage, even at lv 35.
The third wave of enemies on Queen Anne is overpowered... cant wait till it hits live XD

Triton's Vengeance just enables us to attack zombies, as far as I've heard. I'm not satisfied with this update because it's rather small, but I'm excited to see how the story will progress henceforth, which may lead to an actual BIG update. One boss enemy ship isn't enough. I hope Disney hasn't forgotten about the Evil Curse of Doom, let alone the Kraken and DJ.

The sword is still weak and pathetic and I HATE the fact that everyone gets a Sword of Triton for his/her self. Really makes certain things a bit... non-canonical.

They should have made it a boss battle. It would make no sense to have 200 ships trying to board it at once, and it only spawns at specifit times, making it even harder to board. Hopefully there's a story quest coming that will explain what this is about... And of course Blackbeard too...

I think they overdid the level of this boss. There isn't even a level near 71 for pirates, and he only has the LP of a lv 30 boss, and from the pics, the damage of a lv 50 boss. Why make him a lv 70 boss, and then give him lv 50 qualities?

Aye, i dont know what will i be doing, i am, like, lvl 10 on test, and while that, i am also just lvl 30 on live.

The same can be said for the Lost Sword of El Patron. This game is anything but canoniclal.

I believe there IS a story coming up to this. Isn't it an odd coincidence that Disney puts two bosses for the Undead of Jolly Roger, just as Blackbeard (his crew, rather) comes in? Blackbeard will come IMO. Maybe they'll continue the Evil Curse of Doom story too, and HOPEFULLY that will build up to something BIG. I mean, the Kraken and DJ files are still there... And of course unreleased classes of weapons. True, the thing about the level baffles me too.

I know. Maybe according to canon, we could consider the sword to be just lost or either found by "some pirates". It really wasn't that an important element of the story anyway. But giving the Sword of Triton by CODE (not loot or quest?) to EVERYONE is just plain stupid. Hopefully they'll remove it from everyone and give to Blackbeard or someone :laughks2:
Peculiar. Just look at pic #1. They called the crew "mutinous and vile"... Could it be that the ship was taken from Edward Teach?

The ship has a weak hull, but it's fire power us unbelieveable! It is like most flagships, the most damage grants the ability to board.

Wave 1 has enemies around the level of the officers in the BL battle
Wave 2 are several levels higher
Wave 3 has enemies around Smasho level and a level 70 boss

I bring photos. The ship has a good broadside. after it wears you down you'll really be in trouble. The ship is just a bit faster than a frigate. Bring a crew. when you board you're going against 7-8 enemies swords only all 40s bring large crew and tonics. I reccomend trying at level 40-39 its that challenging. but I like a challenge and i'll get one when it comes live. My test pirate is pitiful.

The ship is simply beautiful, I have to say. Hopefully this will be the start of some cool new ship customization that enters the game. I like the red sails, and if they can do that, why not us?

I hope this also leads to new islands that are infested by zombies(that hopefully look a little better than these), and more zombie ships than just Black Beards. This update has potential to build on more. The zombies may not seem big, but if they do some new modeling this could turn into a cool new enemy and introduce one(or more) cool new islands. Just think, if they can make a cool, "zombie ship", then they could make a cool looking zombie island, too.

I don't know, I'm just glad there's been an update. I've been into console games for the past six months, and I'm used to updates in weeks, not months, so this is a nice sign for someone like me that's gotten used to fast and major updates.

It has potential, but whether or not the developers are going to use that potential is up to them, not the players.

Can you burn the boss down with blunderbuss? It's worked for every single boss so far...

I haven't boarded it yet, but I saw somebody else boarding it. The ship looks pretty good, but the enemies look harder than I thought they would be.

it just makes me feel like i wanna be on test more and more... xD

IT'S AWESOME!!! The ship and everything! We boarded the ship using a SOTL. Capt. Jay might have seen us yesterday... we were on it about five or more times in like three hours. :D

Boarded her twice today, both time everyone died :laughks2:
She spawns every 20 minutes or so, and has quite a lot of hullpower, but her cannons are just really weak...

Triton's Vengeance was renamed "Bonus Damage vs. Jumbees." So.. that's all it does, apparently.
