The Island
 

We all know the 'PvP glitch', right? And the empty island you get to if you do it wrong. I'm very curious about the origins of this island, so I did some digging on the Pirates Wiki and...

Has anyone had that happen to them? I started playing in early 2010, so I missed the old islands. It would be very cool to go to one of them! My theory about the island, as most of you probably think, is that Disney are using it as a place to develop a new island. Or that they might open it as a new PvP cave. Anyone else got some theories?

I would say they grabbed the entire ' old islands ' and threw them into the middle of nowhere.

Well, I've never been to the Old Islands when I tried to do the PvP Glitch. It'd be cool if someone could grab some screens.

The few times I've ATTEMPTED to PvP Glitch (I've never actually succeeded, and I haven't tried in months), I've ended up with an Endless Black Loading Screen (when you tried to exit the match too late) or I've ended up on an island that is similar in layout to Driftwood Isle (when I go in too early). I've never actually ended up on one of the old islands, but I've heard rumors of this happening. I too am curious to see screens. I'd imagine that they would have no people and no interactive items (search crates, doors... maybe even no buildings).

Yea I got a black screen too. But I do wan't to see old port royal and totuga again. :pirate6:

Could be a lie. Anyone willing to camp out on Empty Driftwood? Of course, there's the risk of crashing...

Another comment from that person said that they never got their weapons back. Guess somebody would have to make a noob account just to test it.

Thare are old videos on YouTube but ai can't find the old islands in the phase files

I remember in 08 the old island were there. When you go through the cave you would end up on on the base of Tortuga or PR. Now you end up on this random island. I have done pvp glitch thousands of times, when it was fun. Now its not fun like it was in 08. There use to be a glitch called Skel glitch were you could be a skeleton on real islands. Anyways, you can't go on to them.

Aw, it sucks that there won't be anything if we do find it. I wanted to see the islands. :( YouTube isn't the same.

I always to the PVP glitch wrong XD but I've never been to one of the old islands.

I swam in the water there ages ago, and kept swimming for a long time. I DID get to the end of the world, and crashed. :piratetongueor4: Girls might enjoy pretending to be mermaids there. :)

It's funny you mentioned end of the world. Theres 2 confirmed ways to get passed it, one i'm testing on. All 3 were me testing on the wall. Anyways, the removed the old islands because that was when they just added the new PR, Tortuga, and Padres.

hey idk the pvp glitch anymore but i remember seeing the island on an old pvp glitch (not old islands) but the island kinda looks like canjergos(however its spelt), right?

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but if anyone's still interested in this, I believe that there was an old thread with screenshots of the Old Port Royal PvP Glitch. It's probably still buried in the archives somewhere.

I've heard when ur on the island your (this is if) friends in PvP they might go to the island but never see you. I've also whispered to people and they said I'm suppose to be offline.

I've only seen driftwood. It seems very scary to be there but at the same time it's exciting. Just like in Potc 3 movie where Jack is on the white island with a whole crew of Jack Sparrow. I wAnt screanies of the other old islands. There must be a way to get to the islands by sailing. Must travel to the navy base to get those. Also if you notice in the tutorial there is port royal and one other island in the middle of no where. Is there a way to get to the tutorial island? If there is, is there the old carribbean with those? If not are old port royal, tortuga, old padres, and the tutorial island together? These questions need to be answered. There needs to be test of this, and screenshots of these islands.

I do have to say one time i was there (knowing the glitch for years now) and it was similar to the layout of driftwood like always. But instead of exiting the game within a minute or so, i decided to stay for a while since i was bored. After a while, the island dissapeared under my feet and it turned into me walking on air and I could see the moon, as it was night. But as I stayed, the moon started to dissapear... then I logged off because I got bored and wanted to level with chalupa. I managed a few screenies though, not knowing this thread existed.

I would love to investigate this further, it sure is odd! Too bad I didn't get to see old port royal, i really miss it.

P.S. Could this be a slideshow of all of POTCO's maps old and new?

I disagree. Honestly, i've done PvP Glitch for at least 2 years now at least 3 times a week. And all i've seen is going to a island like Chalupa said. I've even used swift foot about 50 times and went into cave and swam for at least a hour on auto run. Trust me, only thing your gonna see is that island.

According to the wiki/forum posts/different forums, it would seem that the old island bug has been fixed. If it's still in the game, though, it's extremely rare to come by, as I've only heard of a handful of people doing it.

Hmmm, sounds interesting I might try to get on the island. Thanks for posting the thread, never even heard of anything like this before.
