Perfect.

goldenpirates 06-28-2011 03:19 PM

Well It's a update I can tell It's still closing but Now I looked my launcher it said pcsv 1.0.33.2 same exact test. So Its probably Scoundrel update early this morning.

Edit: Don't log in because I don't think its not locking because I logged and it kicked me out a lot also i checked site and still closing. They didn't close the launcher.

FightingExecutioner 06-28-2011 03:19 PM

Possibly, in a small portion, that the 2 hour maintenance could mean updating the servers for Scoundrels to invade the seas. What I'm getting at is we barely seen any Release Notes of any Test Server updates. This is what I just think, not what may be true. We just have to let time tell.

Captain Gas 06-28-2011 04:35 PM

It's 11:00 AM in Eastern time and still the maintenance isn't done. Maybe since it's kind of a major update, they need more time?

EDIT: Never mind, it's working.

The Stealthy Pirate 06-28-2011 04:44 PM

I would get online and go sailing. You shall get a pleasant surprise!! :)

FightingExecutioner 06-28-2011 04:45 PM

I was right. Bounty Hunters is now on Live! I did a test voyage and attacked a Ferret and the Jolly Roger appeared. Time to get back on everyone, the Hunters are now calling!

Captain Gas 06-28-2011 04:52 PM

Oh wow Norton thinks that Pirates Online is a virus? Since when?

EDIT: It says the security risk was p3dpythonw.exe. Is that a security risk?

The Stealthy Pirate 06-28-2011 05:06 PM

I got some screens, but havent encountered a bounty hunter.

Attachment 4649

Captain Gas 06-28-2011 05:09 PM

Norton keeps detecting these so-called "viruses" on p3dpythonw.exe. I think I need that to load Pirates Online.

ruisen2000 06-28-2011 05:22 PM

How do you guys get in? My browser is not working. It gets stuck on the loading screen when I type in my username and pass, then press play.
Edit : Nevermind, I'm in... almost.... I have to redownload the whole game everytime I log in like on test.... GRRRRRRR
*instert VERY angry face here*

Edit : Can't get in. Finially finished downloading, and pressed play. Than screen went black, then it said I disconnected.

goldenpirates 06-28-2011 05:56 PM

Here we go again... It's not just Pirate... Toontown is having problem also same DC and blackout. - Sigh -

combatlizzy 06-28-2011 05:57 PM

Aye, mates. Scondrels has been released to Live. But there be a few problems like there were on test. They are probably working on it atm & is more than likely the reason pirates cannot get on site. Patience all-the end result will be worth it!

goldenpirates 06-28-2011 06:20 PM

It's back up I guess but now "We are currently experiencing unexpected network issues (outside of our control). You may experience interruptions during your gameplay today. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to quickly resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience!"

The Stealthy Pirate 06-28-2011 06:28 PM

Every time I try to get on: It says there was a problem Veryfing Account ID

Captain Seaford 06-28-2011 06:45 PM

My launcher just gets stuck at "Retreiving Version Info" and then closes. Well, at least I won't get stuck in that stupid Already Online glitch because I wasn't playing earlier! Phew.
Edit: I am getting sick of this downtime though.

The Stealthy Pirate 06-28-2011 06:57 PM

Thats what happening with me now Captain

Sasha Pretty Thief 06-28-2011 07:20 PM

Boo!

I don't understand why they can't do their maintenance in the middle of the night like everyone else? POTCO is not exactly cheap... not cheap enough to put up with the connection being closed at multiple random times... just saying :psmiley35:

Kat Five Knives 06-28-2011 07:48 PM

Everyone just sit tight until live is back up. As Lizzy said.. it will be worth the wait. I had a blast fighting the hunter ships on test - seeing how much booty you can bring in to port.

Hmm the middle of your night just happens to be my daytime :laughks2:.
I guess they can't please all of the people all of the time...

Can't wait to get on and challenge these bounty hunters though...

:wheel:

Captain Seaford 06-28-2011 08:05 PM

Where I am it's early in the afternoon! The time when I play it most! Arrgh! It BETTER be worth the wait, and those bounty ships BETTER have Jack's Brew on them!

FightingExecutioner 06-28-2011 08:31 PM

Disney says they are experiencing problems outside their control (Probably Freezing and Loss of Ships because of Freezing) and say we may experience interruptions during gameplay yet they closed off the Browser Launcher. Looks like it is serious for Browser but less potent on Desktop Launcher (I think)

Machazzard 06-28-2011 08:47 PM

I hate that I pay for this game, and almost everytime I have time to come online, there is some type of issue. Usually regarding "problems out of their control". I understand having bugs once in a while, but nothing ever seems to be "in their control". :/

Captain Seaford 06-28-2011 08:55 PM

They just say it's "out of their control" to not look so bad.
Edit: Nope, they closed off the desktop one too. It doesn't let you log in at all. It gives "Bad Account ID or Password" and I know for a FACT I'm typing in the right password!

HammyTheSquirrel 06-28-2011 09:17 PM

O_o... this is now the most viewed thread...

Dark_Pixie 06-28-2011 09:19 PM

Hopefully Disney know what's making the game go wrong. Either they'll fix it, or they'll have to pull the Scoundrels from Live and put them back on Test.

If its out of their control as they say then they won't pull them back. If they pull them back then they lied.

(As a tester I'd like to say this update was NOT ready to come to live yet. It was not running properly for multiple people on test it is NOT ready for the mass amount of the live server.)

honeybeeabi 06-28-2011 09:44 PM

YES!! the last few days have been a nightmare here in UK I have had so much trouble just trying to access the game. Today I have been offered several explanations!!!!! the last one being BAD ACCOUNT!!! Disney need to try and gain some of the control they have appeared to have lost!:laughks2:

combatlizzy 06-28-2011 09:55 PM

Hmm...Don't think the dev's at Disney are sitting around right now wondering what's for dinner. In fact, I really doubt they will get time to eat, or sleep, or see their families until this is fixed. Whether this was ready for open or not-it's there along with big problems. But, as stated earlier-it's not just POTCO-other Disney sites are affected. You all are pirates & can weather any storm. So, batten down the hatches, mates-This Too Will Pass...

AmeliaRedfury 06-28-2011 09:59 PM

I've seen that some people are able to get on at least somewhat, or at least get to the sign in screen. I can't even hit the play button on the main page. It's greyed out. *sigh* Ah well, mates, back to swabbin' the decks until it all gets figured out!

Mr. Awesome 06-28-2011 10:00 PM

Relax! I have a solution for those who can't wait for good things...

1) Find something to do.

2) Do that for an hour.

3) Check if the problem is fixed after an hour.

4) Repeat until the problem is fixed.

Junkyard Willie 06-28-2011 10:02 PM

Thank you drive thru.

honeybeeabi 06-28-2011 10:05 PM

Mr Awesome ! We all know that we have no choice but to wait, and waiting is not a problem! That does not mean that it is right and proper that for days now we have been constantly messed around, and hey ho! it is always out of Disneys control, I might add that a lot of these closures fall into evening playing time for UK players, which seems unfair, as we do all pay the same! so maybe people letting off a little steam is quite in order considering the circumstances.:dancetl6:

My thoughts exactly! And I'm almost postitive it's NOT some cool new update considering the fact that Toontown is down also. One would think an industry like Disney would have a little more "control" and possibly the best firewalls known to man...

Captain Seaford 06-28-2011 11:20 PM

You can now log in on the launcher, however, after "Retrieving version Info" it says:
Quote:

The site is closed for maintenance
but then updates the game for you.
and then encounters an error.

WeirdBeard 06-28-2011 11:20 PM

Dang it! I really wanted to get at it with my LIVE pirate, not test pirate.

It is an update. Unless they decide to rescind it, the Scoundrels of the Seas updates was in effect this morning.

WeirdBeard 06-28-2011 11:28 PM

The broken Gameplay.

The Stealthy Pirate 06-28-2011 11:29 PM

For me, it loads then the dang bug report comes up at 38%.

Capt. Longbones 06-28-2011 11:30 PM

still having problems launcher updates and then error wondering if it's me or the site ...

rade775 06-28-2011 11:44 PM

omg its back up

WeirdBeard 06-29-2011 12:07 AM

Oh my gosh, REALLY?

Captain Seaford 06-29-2011 12:07 AM

It is! Hopefully it stays this way! I'm scared to play on my main pirate!

Captain Seaford 06-29-2011 12:57 AM

Oh no...is it down AGAIN?

WeirdBeard 06-29-2011 12:58 AM

What!?!?!?!?!?!?

MacIronhawk 06-29-2011 01:01 AM

I'm logging on right now and it seems that there's been an update.

How long was it down? Or is it still down and fewa re able to access it without any trouble?

Captain Seaford 06-29-2011 01:04 AM

It was down for like a minute. It might have been just me.

MacIronhawk 06-29-2011 01:51 AM

I can't get above level 1 Scoundrel after sinking about twenty three ships. Does it take a long time?

EDIT: I just had my first encoutner with bounty hunter ships on test. Three went after me, two Lightning Storms(war sloops, I believe) and two War Frigates, one with a red sail and one with an orange. The orange sailed war frigate destroyed me but five player ships following me had the opportunity to sink her and they did.

If you're going to let your scoundrel level get high, I'd really suggest having a crew with you because after a sinking a few bounty hunters, they get extremely hard to fight alone. I've also noticed they give you almost no time to repair before they spawn near you.

This update also screams ship customization. Hunter ships with different colored haults, flags, etc... There are really endless possibilities with flag colors and ship colors. If this is a hint at ship customization, I think the next thing we'll see is decorations for the deck.

HammyTheSquirrel 06-29-2011 02:29 AM

If ship customization and SOTL both come out, the Sorcerors, Partners, and about every other organized guild are going to be sailing around in their own flagships! ;)

ruisen2000 06-29-2011 02:44 AM

Managed to get in the game about an hour ago, and there was massive lag around Padres in Andaba. People no longer sink normal ships, they just crowd around the SOTL Warship now, lol.

When I got on a ship, there was 20 war Frigates in front of me all attacking the SOTL Warship, then after it was sunk, they went after the next one that appeared nearby.

Its more like "Hey, its a bountyhunter, now that all go and attack it at the same time!!"
My game was freezing every 2 seconds, lol. During the one hour log in, more than half is spent on the time frozen.

The striped flags we see on the new ships, along with the new ship haul/wood colors(dark grey and dark brown) are extremely easy to make, from the looks of it. You can go into photoshop or any other program and simply edit the colors to change your liking. If this is how the developers go about flag and haul colors(probably not) then we should expect a huge amount of different flag and haul colors.

Not to mention that these bounty hunter ships came along with two new ship logos, a spider and wasp. I don't know how they'll go about adding a lot of these, although many different types of ship logos can be added in a short amount of time(couple months) if they have a good artist on the development team.

If they want to get Ship Customization perfect, though, they're going to need to take into account ship decorations. Lanterns, door colors, stair placements, flag and mast placement, etc...

I see Ship Customization coming out in two updates. The first would be Flag and Haul colors along with a variety of ship logos. But this release would have to come with many ship logos and a variety of colors, some of which would have to be aquired during quests. If they Ship Customizaiton is going to be big, they're going to have to keep us busy and a small update to get it started would be perfect for keeping us busy.

Then, the second update would involve the six more ships we saw released to test earlier this year, along with the rest of Ship Customization, including mast and stair placement, along with some ship decorations. The most notorious pirates would get decorations such as the picture on the back onf the Queen Anne's revenge.(if you haven't noticed it, look closely, it is beautifully scary!)

I know I'm thinking far ahead but this update screams and hints at customization on the seas even more than any other. The update I see coming after this, though? It'd have to be merchant ships. If we have ships that go after us, surely there are ships that we can go after/protect. But I get this idea from the files, where there are a variety of merchant ship files. The haul being a very light grey. Maybe this is a false assumption on my part but I like the idea.

EDIT: Hull, not haul.
