The Epic Games

The Epic Games

That's right. The Epic Games. What are they? It's a competition to find some of the fastest, strongest, and smartest pirates. How does it work? There are going to be 3 different competitions. They will test speed, brains, and strength. You will get a certain amount of points for the position that you come in for each competition. The points depend on how many people show up. There are no signups required, just show up. Let the games begin!

Part 1: Island Race

Here's how it works. We will all start on Tortuga, in the Faithful Bride. From there, all the competitors will head to the ships in a mad dash. They will sail to any island, and once they reach it they will have to go to a certain point on that island. Once they reach it, they will go back to their ship and sail to the next island. The order that they go in doesn't matter, it's up to them. Once they finish, they have to meet back at the Faithful Bride. Here are all the places you need to go to on each island:

Raven's Cove: Run to the Elevator and run back.
Isla Perdida: Find the Queen and exit from the opposite side you came from.
Driftwood Island: Run through the island, passing Bronze John, and exiting from the other side.
Rumrunners Isle: Get into the storage area and exit the island.
Tortuga: Go to the Faithful Bride (This is the beginning and end point, so you don't need to go here) and exit.
Isla Cangrejos: Find the boss and leave with the closest Dinghy
Devils Anvil: Go into the Grotto and get close enough to Barbossa to talk with him.
Ile D'Etable De Porc: Run to the backside of the island and run back.
Cuba: Find Tia Dalma and run back
Port Royal: Run to the Mansion (You don't have to enter) and run back the opposite way you came.
Isla De La Avaricia: Run to the backside of the island and run back.
Isla Tormenta: Run to the Thrall Captain area and run back.
Outcast Isle: Find the Dog and leave.
Cutthroat Isle: Run through the jungle and exit.
Kingshead: Run to the jail (You don't have to enter) and run all the way back.
Padres Del Fuego: Run to Dark Hart in the town on the back and run back.

Rules:
No teleporting or stowing away on others ships.
Potions and weapon skills are allowed.
You can team up with others, but it all depends on who walks through the door first.
Make sure to do everything above, or you'll be disqualified. I'll be at some on the checkpoints to make sure.
No glitching.
Have good sportsmanship. Don't brag about winning.
Have Fun!

Part 2: To be announced.

Part 3: To be announced.

If you have any questions just ask me in game, in a reply, or in a PM.

Hmm... I don't think it's right to judge who is the most epic POF pirate... though the event sounds fun! I'd love to come, but due to my time zone I won't be able to.

Nick The Titan 08-01-2011 09:40 PM

My friend it should be around 9:00 EST its a little unfair for the pirates who live in different time zones mate. Same with Dark Pixie its not fair to Judge the most epic pirate its a silly thing to do if you ask me.

Captain Jason 08-01-2011 09:55 PM

I did my best to change it. I hope that's better for you guys. I don't have any actual right to decide who the most epic pirate is, I just didn't know what to do for it. Sorry for the confusion. Also, the timezone is already in EST.

Captain Jorden 08-02-2011 01:12 AM

What about the swiftfoot glitch? Is it allowed?

Captain Jason 08-02-2011 04:09 AM

No glitching. Glitching is cheating. Cheating is bad.

Shock En Awe 08-02-2011 04:12 AM

cool, sounds fun!

Mate first i realize it was EST. Some pirates will be at school or at work.
EST is different for people on the West coast for exapmle, which is a 3 hour difference.
I hope you get what i mean. 9:00 EST is a reasonable hour for everyone not 3:00 mate.

And by then, some people will be falling asleep. ;) Plus, there is DP.

Dark_Pixie 08-02-2011 02:15 PM

Don't worry about me, mate. I don't mind missing it. If you make it too early for everyone just because of me, I don't think it would be a very good event. ;)

Davy_Mcwrecker 08-02-2011 02:33 PM

Actually, Nick, it is summer, so the people who are in school should be........
SUmmerschool - ( Skipping school is a no-no! )
or some other reason. 3:00 is the perfect time! It is right after lunch, and uh.... where I'm at school starts at 8:00 and ends at 2:32. I do NOT see a pronlemof the timing.

Captain Jason 08-02-2011 06:07 PM

I don't think that as many people would show up if I change the time to 9:00, because most players do live in the East Coast, and that could be a little late for some people. This may end up being a pretty long event, so I figured 6:00 would be a reasonable time for most people. The best way I can see to compromise is to keep it at 6:00.

Not exactly mate some people already started real school not summer school mate and the time depends if you are in elementary school Junior high/Middle school or High School most get out at different times. For our adult pirates here we have later and earlier times to get out of work. 9:00 is a reasonable time. I don't get how 9:00 is late

The Stealthy Pirate 08-03-2011 04:40 PM

I think 6:00 EST works for everyone.

Nick The Titan 08-03-2011 08:09 PM

Maybe 7:00 PM EST its kinda in the middle

Captain Jason 08-05-2011 07:26 PM

I've changed it to 8:00. I will not be changing it again. I'm trying to make it best for everyone, and I don't think there's a time that everyone would be able to come at. I'm sorry about all this about the time, but let's just forget about it.

Chalupa 08-07-2011 08:04 AM

Nooo! Ill be away on the tenth! This really sounds fun! Especially for the pirates swinging away at enemies seeing tons of pirates running bye lol.

Captain Jason 08-09-2011 08:09 PM
