Did they released a new update?

I think they are speaking of the update that has not yet gone to Test. I logged onto Test this morning and didn't see any updates. The Brig and custom ship options should hit Test first. According to the official POTC YouTube site it will still be a while.

Then I think that the update that hasn't been released or announced is one of the best updates ever!!

The poll is to ask if you are excited for the upcoming update, Skirata. Sorry, but the Update-That-Hasn't-Been-Released-Or-Announced is not on this thread :D

Anyway, I am probably more excited than anyone here. I've been waiting for this for a LONG time, and I think I'm going to REALLY have fun with this update when it arrives!

I was excited, but the length of time it is taking to develop leaves my spirit and enthusiasm in a dwindling state.

Yeah. I'm ready for this. Its about time we can be unique. I would love to also see this with our combat styles such as being left handed, putting the cuts and things in order, and adding certain flares like a special finishing move. But I'm just fine with this. Can't wait! :dancetl6:

The update in the wind is very cool. Wonder how fast I can sink the new brigs? I will do me best. Think this pirate better stick to cannoning and RUM. Sailing was never my forte'

I voted "No" because they haven't "officially" announced anything yet. Once it's on Test then that's when it will be "official", right now its all speculation. Us two that voted "No" have our reasons.

On the official POTCO Youtube Page, they made a pre-release video about this.

They also announced The Kraken and all sort of other goodies on Official POTCO places. For me things are coming when they are released for Test. I just don't believe those pre-release promos.

I would probably feel the same way as Skirata, but seeing as how little Disney releases updates, I don't want to jinx myself.
Also, anyone find it weird how they announced it almost a month ago? And don't go "they need to take their time with bug fixes" because 27 days is more than bloody enough to fix all the bugs.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the first announcement was made on August 1st. Although I would much rather have it stable as possible prior to release, the anticipation can get to you.

Assuming this update DOES come, then yes, I am excited for it... but like TSC has said, perhaps we shouldn't always be trusting them. In the past they have promised plenty of things without releasing them.

Also, take into consideration that new ships and ship customization may not be the only things that they are adding to the game. If they are adding the Brigs for us, chances are there will be new enemy brigs, meaning at least another 8 enemy ships (Navy Light Brig, Navy Brig, 2 Navy War Brigs, EITC Light Brig, EITC Brig, 2 EITC War Brigs and possibly more if they add skeleton Brigs). These in themselves would mean finding places for them at sea, programming their damage, what cannon ammo they use, if there will be flagships for them, etc. Still, even with that it shouldn't take huge amounts of time, considering they could probably just base their damage/ammo off of existing ships... I'll bet they are also releasing some other things, possibly new staffs, but that's just something I'm throwing out there.

Either way... even I am getting a tad impatient... if they release something like this as a sneak peak, it would be nice if they got it on test in the next two or so weeks.

Yes they did say this. So soon there will be an update. I predict by next week is when the update should come.

How could you not want this? I am so excited, but too bad i am basic now :(

Disney really cant win can they? If they release it too early it's 'full of bugs' and if they take their time some 'get impatient'

The sneak peak was September 1st and just over a week ago PiratesOnline said.....

we're putting some polish and bug fixes into the game and once that's done and tested we'll release this to Test. We've encountered some delays (as you know) but this extra time has given us the benefit to put even more upgrade "types" into the game ... so that's a good thing!

So I don't think it will be too long until it appears on test, and yes I am way excited!

You all must understand that in order for this update to actually make it to the Live servers quickly, we should let Disney work out as many kinks as they can under their own watch now so that way there will be less bugs for us to fix on Test. There's no need to release an update when they can simply make it better and better, because Test is not the playground for updates - Test is where you sort out the bugs and try to clean up any final mistakes Disney needs to clean up. Simple as that.
