Economy or Computer Based?
Ok question is simple do you want potco to be more economy based of computer based
Economy Based meaning players can hold jobs and sell items to other players for money ect. Computer Based meaning computer sell you everything |
Economy would be an interesting game add. A lot more interesting that giving your money to nothing at all because your money goes to another player.
|
I think it would be a good idea to do what your referring as economy based.
I think some expansion would definately be in order... Which one of my 4 items do ya want ta buy? Zeppers Lvl40 http://pirates.teamofx.us |
I like the comp based. A few i\other sites I play (poker mostly) once you have a market for makin money, then you see farming. I didnt like that. Also what good would it do us with a 65K cap?
|
I'd like to see the cap raised and the game be economy based.
|
OK theoretically speaking....the caps raised, you open a shop for say ship customization parts. You have customers daily who drop their gold in your lap. Over time you have Millions of dabloons. What then? Is it a status symbol? "I'm a millionaire pirate!" Or you gonna now sell your gold to someone that wants to pay you real cash for it?
If the game takes this route, I wil definately leave. |

Computer based, if it becomes economy based, people will write programs to automate farming. If it stays no trading, Disney will be able to control the economy, which ultimately is better than letting people do it. People will abuse it to the point that it isn't fun.
|
Computer based.
As others have said, if you introduce trading, you open things up for the gold farmers. |
Though economy based is what drives many MMORPGS these days I do not feel it is necessary for this one. It definitely makes things more simple but I think that's what Disney was aiming for. Keeping it computer based keeps it gold farming free. It also keeps things a lot more casual. Besides, a REAL pirate would want to hold onto all their coin before they ever give it up to an heir ((alt)) which would undoubtedly happen if you introduce a trading feature. Twinking CAN be fun but it would take away the casual game play I enjoy here. Indeed I am two-sided here because there are times I do enjoy throwing myself into the market and trying to come out rich.

Switch my vote towards computer based. I had thought that the other option would help to extend the game, help it grow, but with some new perspective, I dont think it would. Zeppers lvl40 http://pirates.teamofx.us |

I'd prefer things stay computer based - if I wanted to play an economy based game I'd go to a different game. I play POTCO and TT because they aren't that way.
Some very basic trading might be nice, or perhaps gifting rather than trading. As you can tell, I don't care much for the more 'involved' games. ;) |
This is my first experience with this type of game but I like it the way it is. Besides, how does the economy feature work when someone who is selling goods needs to get supplies to sell. Where does one get the supplies to sell ship parts? I'm probably just complicating things. Maybe I'm just not getting it. I'm a pirate for crying out loud. I just want to slice, shoot, and blow up things and then take the spoils. Isn't that enough?

I'd like to see a mixture of the two. Perhaps a pre-determined price range for items, to reduce the likelihood of either people paying real money for in-game items or people selling rare items for exorbitantly high prices. Also, another consideration would be preventing direct in-game money transfers which would keep some of the farming out.

wow angel u compleatly tipped the votes lol :laughks2:

Currenlty the only thing you can really sell another pirate is jewelry and clothing, would be nice if i could hook up a guildy with my old weapons so Ill have to vote on Economy. I do understand your concern for gold farmers and how they ruin a game. UO being the best example one can give. But Say someone sells there unique clothing to a npc vendor, someone else should be able to purchase it. The 65k cap would really limit the farming though. I mean who would pay real cash for 65k. sorry about the seemingly randomness of my comments.
|
Its just past experiences with Farmers. Sorry, but Ive even done a search and see its already kinda happening. I would hate to see how it would be if given the option to further advance it.
|
Yea...
Angel and I were on vent yesterday and googling gold farming for POTCO. I was amaced at the numbers of sites avalible for real money transfers and hacks to CHEAT the game out of gold. One thing I am glad Disney changed is the way NPEs attack. That has in a way helped with the power leveling. Bella |
Yeah, and I like the game the way it is with all its quirks and bugs. Give those farmers a harder time...make it not worth their time.
|
I think economy based would be a good change of pase for the game
|
just raise the cap 65k not enough. it would be nice to be able to trade.
|
I would like to see something to do with several characters sitting around with 65k. Have to go buy clothes of something to sell a ship to get better ones. I think that is a bit ridiculous.
With things like blackjack cheating, money isn't even a issue. Economy based I wouldn't think it would mean anything unless there was something to spend it on. I wouldn't mind seeing more skills, to make a cutlass, or pistol, etc. Why do we have to be Fed items we could have skills to work and make. I would like to see more along these lines, if ship customization comes out, then lets be able to do it? Doing meaningless quests such as making rum, or building a ship, I think it should be utilized to skills we can use. |
