Someone's having way too much fun? Or is da enemy using new ammo?
 

Anyone else ever get hit and damaged by an explosive cannonball?

We were sailing of the coast of Cutthroat and I was getting ready for one last broadside on the mid-level Spanish flagship, when out-of-the blue, we were hit with an explosive cannonball from an unseen source! I landed the broadside, and right as the green arrows appeared, we got hit again by a second explosive cannonball. Everything frozed up after that. We got sunked and all had to log back in.

Did these ships add another arsenal? Or do you think there's some mischief going on? We were on an open server so how could another players ship damage us?

nope some of the higher lvl ships have now been equipped with explosive shots :(

Wow, so in the time it took to recharge broadsides and line up another shot, two quick explosives took out my War Frigate at almost full strenght!

Yeah. It was a blast when an EITC Corsair used explosive shot on my sloop.

I had a good deal of royals, too :(

I agree.. This new update has been a complete pain for sailing. I have a war frig, war galleon, and war sloop. I used to be able to make short work of a phantom or monarch. Now the phantom can almost wipe me out in seconds..

I got attacked by the Corsair with it's ONE broadside of explosives & it took my full War Gal's ship meter all the way down & we sunk =( I even used Take Cover...

I made the nistake of taking on a Man of War and it sunk me almost immediately!:explotar2jr: Also got ganged up on today by passing ships, never saw them so don't know which they were. while ON a flagship taking out the crew they creamed me and I sunk before I could get out of there! :(

I had this similar problem but on with a scourge but it wasnt as bad but bad enough.

I Agree with all fot hat it is unfair, even though i havent had any encounters on the explosives i think its not fair for the enemy ships to have a special attack to send out non-normal cannons while we have to take the damage of it while they take half less of it sometimes thats why i wish we can shoot out lightning and fireballs while steering

I was once killing a Spanish Cerberus and we killed it with my frigate it never damaged us we got the green lights and its last cannons which were explosives hit us. I got bad lag for about 5 minutes and next thing i know im in jail!

Unfortunatly I am familiar with the exploding cannonball very personally. It sucks I know. Not sure if all the higher level baddies have those are not. I just try to be carefule and make sure I have some speed behind me if I have to get away quick.

Dont get to close to the ship.

Seriously, keep your distance.

god thats unfair. to keep that from happining id back up, use turn about then full sail. stand still, the enemy ship will rotate. then nail them
