French/Spanish NPCs
 

My wife came up with this one.

The French and Spanish undead have the same rote sayings that the English ones do.

"There's that pirate again!" "Surrender!" etc

She said that they should speak French or Spanish instead of English.

So instead of "There's that pirate again!", the French would say "C'est un pirate!" Or instead of "Surrender!", they'd say "Nous remise!"

This is a good Idea. Why not forward it to Disney. Go their official Site and email them about it.

But some of us dont Spanish or French

I can see how that would be a problem (hmm i dont either)

I think a point could be made however that french, spanish, and navy are not going to say the same phrases word for word in real life (even if translated to english).

Um.. how about "Stop, Le Pirate!" ? (Worked for LeCar. We all 'got' that... ) No?

Ok.. bad joke. I'll just back slowly out of this thread before you all start throwing Nades at me.

After almost 6 months - today I have received a Crew Kit!... I... I can't believe it... :D

Your lost Maxx, lol... unless your crew kit was in French or Spanish.

LOL I was trying to Monitor posts and post about me getting my Crew Kit at the same time.. then I noticed 'hey - where's my post?' LOL So I've been looking for it... :) Found it!! ;)

Guess now I gotta say someting smart about French and Spanish language? Its a cool idea - but I would never know what they were saying to me so I'd always be stopping asking 'What? WHAT?!?! What???' LOL :D

I think that would be a pretty good idea.
I know most of us don't know french/spanish, but it is not a nessesity to know a few words said by enemies, is it? I think you should most definatly suggest this to disney.

I'm french, if you want some example of sentence, just tell me ^^

I emailed this to Disney before posting it here.

It doesn't really matter that you can't understand them, because they aren't really saying anything important anyway, and it would add a bit of flavor to the game.

And who knows. You punks might learn something.

It would make the game a little more realistic. I dont see why it would matter if you cant speak spanish or french.

I don't know any french but I do know Some spanish

it would be alot more realistic. at least make the npc leaders say "bonjour" or "hola" then speak english.

Not all pirates knew how to speak Spanish or French either. I mean I can see that we wouldn't understand but we'd get the point that they are saying something that is bad.

I mean I like this idea. It gives the game more depth and for those of us who know a language it would be kind of cool.

Also! If you think about it games love putting something in that will be sort of educational for children. Someone speaking Spanish or French will make someone pick up a website or a book to translate. It's something to look into.

I would love it if the French pirates spoke French. French is my favourite language

I like the idea, im sure they could come up with some phrases that were easily figured out. Not that it would be more realistic, but simply more diverse, and interesting. Need to put some zest into things... hehe

French Pirates: Bonjour! Prepare to die.
Spanish Pirates: Hola! Prepare to die.

I don't think it should matter if you don't speak the language(s) atleast it's realistic. *nods head*
