Will Turner Weapon Task
 

Is anyone else working on this task? Will Turner is making a knife for me and I need to get materials for it: Coal from barrels in the forts (havent been able to get coal from any of the barrels I have searched); bone from 6 corpses ( i have this); tongs from a "first mate" in the navy (I have no idea where to find this); steel from EITC ships (i got this) ; and finally sterling silver from EITC (got this). If anyone knows how to get some of these things I'd appreciate the help.

i have seen first mates on navy ships jump aboard them until u find one..

When I've tried that my ship sinks :( lol

Ya same here. Haven't been successful at boarding once so far.

Usually all I see are "guard" titles. I'll keep looking.

The coal is eluding me as well. I even went to the other town with a fort down south, forget the name of the island (sorry just woke up :p). But you don't even get the option to search any containers there. :(

I can't exit my ship unless I am docked so I can't jump aboard. Does anyone know which ships have the green circles on them? Maybe they have the first mate.

The only ones I've seen the circles appear are the ones that have the pirate flags above them. I usually see skeletons on them though.

Everytime I successfully grapple them and they come close to my boat and I hit "ctrl" to board their ship, my ship sinks :confused: . I'm going to try swimming up to them instead.

Where did you get the bones from. i have killed some skeletons but have not recieved anything

Yay, there is coal in the barrel's now. Also, you have to use a dockworker to board your ship

lol There's coal now? You mean we were all going around searching all the barrells for nothing :p rotfl Yay I'm going to go get me some coal!

When do you get to the weapon training. I have been stuck trying to kill the assassin. It seems I can't kill level 17 merc. I would also like to know how to get voodoo doll training. Thank you to anyone who can help.

I still haven't seen any first mates. I just boarded and sunk a navy ship and all i ever see are cadets, guards, veterans, etc...Does anyone know which ship the "first mate" is on?

No First Mates, but I did find an OFFICER on the roof of the fort on Padres del Fuego.

He was Lv15, but it wouldn't let me do any damage on him. It showed hits and negative red points, but the damage never budged. Oh, well.

Will keep a look out.

OK, maybe it is my old eyes, but how do you even see what levels they are on those ships??? Do you have to jump aboard?
And can't any sailor be a first mate? That term just means the Captain's right hand man, doesn't it?

Well, I've swam aboard a few navy vessels of varying lvls and killed quite a few sailors. So far none named "first mate". It is possible that they aren't called that but so far the quests have been very specific. Like where you need bones from a corpse. The creature is titled "corpse".

wildtaz999 says he's seen them, I'd like to know which ships.

hmm wildtaz has seen them huh? Well good, because I was starting to think that they haven't been programmed in yet lol :p

i still cant find this either - have checked every navy boat i have seen! if anyone find a first mate let us know where!!

I have seen an "officer" in the fort on port royal. he is a level 15 and kills me really fast. If we can gang up on him, maybe this will work for "first mate". not sure, but i'd like to try. if anyone wants to, i'll be playing Jane Redhawk in the 7th sea

I got to the weapon (knife) training. I found the coal in the Port Royal Prison barrels. Went to each of them twice for the ten buckets. I saw a corpse skeleton in the cave in the jungle of Tortuga near the mercenary camp. It hit me with fire and killed me quick. Good Luck. I have not yet seen the first mate.

Right now I'm working on the corpses on Port Royal. I got one, but it didn't count towards my quest I guess. lol I take that back, when I logged back in, it counted it :D yay

I'm still looking for more recruits to fight the officer. 7th sea, port royal fort (where the jail is). currently im in front of will turner's place

it was great meeting up with so many of you trying to get that officer unfortunately i froze and when i rebooted you were all gone. It was great seeing so many people on , hopefully we can all meet up again for another task.

i still need to finish getting my corpses so am planning on being on tonight during the stres test to get them ( the easiest one i found to get to is in tortuga - you go to the jungle by teh wagon to the left of town, pass through the next opeing to the cave and come out and another jungle with a small house there is a gator and corpse( sometimes he is a carrion) in the swamp next to teh house. there are also a few stumps and other undeads for anyone need ing those) hope to see some of you there!

Hi Badpete, Wish I could have met up with some of you all last night and help out, not really sure what I was doing (Oh Yeah, I was working...Argh!). I just wanted to remind everyone that there are different worlds within pirates online, so if you sign back on you might not be in the same world and therefore everybody may look like they are gone. If you want to see what world your currently in or change to another world perform the following:

(1) Click on 'Tab' key (Opens Menu on right of screen)
(2) Click on 'M' key (Opens Map)
(3) Click on Drop Down Arrow below where it says "Current World: 4th Sea"
(4) Select the world you want to go to (You will teleport)

The button that is depressed or pressed down will be the world your currently in, for example I was just in "Current World: 4th Sea" but friends maybe located in another world therefore I cannot do quests with them since they are in another world. Not sure if you can still see your friends online or not in another world...

Well he said at the begining of this thread, but hasn't made a peep about it since... So... I'm not holding my breath.

Just to update this forum (its been a whole 4 days), has anyone seen the first mate (besides wildtaz or at least a lot more specific)?

On the ships I only see Guards and Cadets and my game sometimes gets glitchy after I dock and start out again my compass shows the enemy individuals rather than the ships and I only see the ones that are visable on the ship.

I found the coal in the barrels in the Fort on Port Royal. Some barrels are less heavily guarded, so I went to the same 2 or 3 barrels over and over again just waiting for them to respawn a "search" option. Luckily if a few over-zealous guards attack and knock you out, you wake up right back in the Fort again. :)

May I ask how you acquired the steel and the silver? I thought I could get it by sinking some EITC and Navy ships, but the quest did not update when I did and I took down quite a few ships.

:) Jenny, I just had to keep sinking ships, and it would finally update for one that had silver or steel. Like everyone else, I do not know where to find a First Mate.

I can not find the first mate anywhere. I tried officers, all islands and caves. I even swam out to Navy Ships and killed and killed hoping one would spawn. I am totally frustrated...lol:mad:
