Current News: Nov 3 - Full Moon Fever & Other Fall Festivities
Full Moon Fever & Other Fall Festivities --- November 4 2008
The weekend of All Hallows' Eve brought much mayhem to the Caribbean. We saw undead Pirates dancing around like zombies while both higher and lower level Pirates were swayed to Jolly Roger's evil cause ... But thanks to Pirates like yourself, we were able to keep the curse contained to just a few days, fight off Jolly's undead army, and delay his plans - at least for now. With the madness of the Muertos Moon behind us, it's time to look ahead to the month of November. In the Caribbean, fall is a time for the autumn harvest. It's a time to reflect on the year and give thanks for the bounty of the islands. We'll celebrate the autumn harvest with Pirates all over the Caribbean later this month with a grand Founders Feast on the beaches of Tortuga! The feast, hosted by our GMs and Founders will feature musicians, dancing and other traditions, and surprises that date back to European harvest festivals of old. Join us for the Founders Feast, November 27, 28, 29, and 30 on the beaches of Tortuga. Another event you'll want to mark on your calendar is the Tavern Takeover happening in taverns around the Caribbean later this month. Our GMs will be in-game telling Pirates of some great new additions to the Caribbean - more details on this event are coming soon! Discuss it in the Grog Blog. |

Extreme Makeover: Pirates Online Edition November 03, 2008 Pirates of the Caribbean Online partnered with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to bring a little Pirates magic into the life of Job McCully, a 10-year-old boy in Arkansas who is a leukemia survivor that endured a bone marrow and double lung transplant. In an episode that aired this past Sunday on ABC, the Pirates Online Crew helped the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team redesign Job's room. Did you see the episode? What did you think? Full Moon Fever November 03, 2008 Spooky things happened in the Caribbean this Halloween - and the winds and tides were not the only thing affected by the full moon. Jolly Roger worked his magic to bring a horrible curse to the Caribbean - and enslave all the Pirates of the Caribbean as part of his undead army! Did you participate in the event? What did you think of it? Ps CURSE YOU JACK IRONMALLEY! Hehe i was a split second from posting this! PPS. Wow founders fest does that mean what i think it means? |
Hehe i like that picture! My guild all did the same thing on Padres with the zombie dance. Founders Feast? That sounds interesting, im glad they are having more events at the moment.

|
Founder's Feast? That sound tasty!!! I wish I was a founder... or do I?
In other words can someone sum all this up for me? lol |
Wait, does that mean Founders are the only ones being able to it? I hope it's not.

Yes but founders were umm founders and currently all we get is
- A gold name - A founder token next to our name - and alot of questions :D :D So a turkey some smashed potatoes and rum would be nice :D |

Although I reread and it says the gms and founders will 'host', does not mean that all will not be able to attend. My only point however is that those that already have special elite status of gold names, etc although at first, are not likely the member base generating the most revenue for the game. ;) No matter, founders deserve to be given that elite status. All i'd like is that gold name, to me.. thats the coolest thing they could give ya. |
True but like all events disney hosts we wont know the details till a day or 2 before the event.
|
As a game founder, it's interesting to me that they say GMs and Founders will "host". To me that sounds like it's for everyone. But if it only takes place on Tortuga beach it also sounds like a lag carnival to me.
Chris is right...as with every special event we'll just have to wait and see. As for the gold name and coin next to it, I never think about it until someone asks me what it's for. It certainly doesn't keep me out of jail when my mind wanders while in battle - :laughks2: But then, I'm easily distracted by shiny objects. |

Pirates has already made it clear that if you didn't become a founder then you can't become one now. It would make no sense to become a founder a year after the game launched. If that's what you ment. Quote:
It's like turning in your homework late and getting full credit. If everyone has gold names that just takes away the purpose of what a founder REALLY is. As far as a gold name. I think if they would give out gold names that would be ok. BUT...only if they didn't get the golden F by their name when they get it. That way founders are still founders and not just another person in that gold crowd. |
