Although it's a tradition, I'm not much fond of the turkey. I prefer my yams, stuffing, and honey glazed ham. :pilgrim:

Wassail is usually a ciderlike beverage these days. In days of old, it was a variation of ale (beer), with many ingredients, in it, and bread to "sop" it up.

And to stay on topic... add I also love my mothers homemade cinnamon bun/rolls I think I just gained a pound from the smell of her baking them.

I like sweet potatoes, pie or in a dish with apples, though I'm generally new to that, so I won't call it a favorite just yet. I like hams, glazed or however they're prepared, though I'm new to that being served around me at Thanksgiving as well, so I won't call that it either. It ain't pumkin pie, cranberry whatever, turkey, so I won't call any of them it either.

I'd say it's probably stuffing, though I like mixing everything with stuffing. I once had a Thanksgiving meal at a buffet, at which my favorite dish was stuffing on Bourbon chicken.

No, wait: it was sweet potato on top of the chicken. I'm perplexed...

Brettthelostsoul 11-29-2008 02:39 AM

Cold Turkey sandwiches and stuffing....green bean cassarole is also good :tg21: :buds:

League 11-29-2008 04:00 AM

Too me, it really depends on how you mix stuff: sweet potato and stuffing can stand alone. Sweet potato (mashed form) also goes well with dry turkey, stuffing (depending on the stuffing), and some other stuff perhaps (I know it tastes good mixed with Bourbon chicken, because of a buffet that served both). Stuffing tastes good mixed with corn, greenbean casserole, and turkey. Turkey goes great with everything but the corn, with which it just tastes plain (for all discussion purposes, this is corn that is in some sort of hybrid state between cornbread and kernel corn)--it also, of course, is what the cranberry sauce was made for. The corn should have been covered so far, and the stringbean casserole too. The casserole is a dish that needs to be eaten with something else, for string beans are hateful (though tolerable in casserole format).

As you can see, I only like a certain 5 dishes.
