Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game but before that make sure windows is updated.

Were you able to EVER play pirates on this computer? It may be it's video hardware does not support the features required by Pirates Online.

Regarding Windows Update:
There is more than one way to address windows updates. Assuming you are in MSIE while here on the forums, click "Tools" and there should be an option for "Windows Update". Recommend that those using thier parents computers to play check with them before doing anything like this though. Parents do NOT like surprises. ;)

Mine is in control pannel (vista) but Microsoft.com then choose microsoft update from security & updates should get a popup telling you when your putter was last updated then update if needed

Sven Osymthe 11-29-2008 07:13 PM

check to see if there are any updates ready for your computer

I played just 1 time to POTC and after i coudln't connected to the server. I will try to update Windows XP

When i wanted to do an update, it's said that they was none available. This is what is write : No high-priority updates for your computer are available. To check for optional updates, return to our home page and click Custom

If you are running vista do this;

1. Click the Start Menu
2. Click Control Panel
3. System and Maitinence
4. Windows Update
5. If it says you have ___ updates then click update and give it time your computer may need to restart a few times let it do so.

Hopefully that will work if not try unistalling the entire program from your Hard drive and reinstalling the entire thing.

Same thing as Chris...just do the custom.
The express is for things that your CP has to have to keep going..and for security and all that

>start menu
>All Programs
>At the top, windows update
Let it scan so you can view the site..
when it done, do these steps:
Step 1:http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p..._14/update.jpg

Step 2:http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...4/update-1.jpg

Step 3:http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...4/update-2.jpg
( I know I got nothing, lol)
Look at Hardware THATS what you may need

I tried to be as specific as I could, good luck mate!

My thoughts:

Could be a software problem: older video card drivers might be causing the system to lock up, in which case you'd want to update them.

Could be a hardware problem: if the graphics hardware is too overworked, it might be draining just enough power from the PSU to make it power-cycle and reboot the computer.

Dr. Zeppers 11-30-2008 04:42 PM

Personally as a computer technician for many years, I do NOT recommend doing 'software' updates through Windows update. Visit the manufacturer and get the latest from them.

I have had extremely mixed results with what "microsoft" thinks is best for your hardware you've not received from them.

The easiest way is very seldom the best way.

I find it a little unsettling when non-technical people offer technical assistance.. lol

Thanks for all now i can play! but when i play approximatly 15 or 20 minutes is write: POTC have find a bug and most close. how can i play without this bug?

Ghostcannon 12-01-2008 09:01 AM

OFxZeppers is right about the "software" updates from microsoft, make sure you get them from the manufacturer. Althouth, there are some exceptions and one of them is that if you have a Dell pc/laptop, make sure your 'software" updates come from Dell, and not from the manufacturer...remember, Dell buys the rights for most of the software that comes with their products (e.g. Video Card drivers, sound drivers, etc.)

Good Luckl.
