Giant Crabs
 

Although I have decided to not finish the Doc Grog quest entirely. I would like to get 4 out of the 5 giant crabs out of the way.

I have tried to shot them on land (silly me), and also being on shore and shooting from my ship. Of course they come on board and make minced meat out of me there. (BTW, when they come to my ship, I can not see them on board)

How do you fight them?

You go on land and shoot them with the double barrell pistol (not the first pistol you get) once you get to level 6 on your pistol, you can buy a double pistol (it can shoot two times with out reloading) that helps lots! also when you get level 6 on the pistol, you can unlock aiming shots. go to your weapons, pistol, at the bottom is an aiming option. with that you can do more powerful attacks. you use the shoot button but hold it down until the bar on the right of you is full and shoot, it does a good amount of dammage.

What I did was shoot them from the ship. But I did not use regular cannon shot. Use the grape shot if you have that cannon skill unlocked. You can usually get 2 or 3 crabs with just 1 or 2 shots and they don't have time to get to your ship. You can buy the grape shot from the cannoneer in Port Royal or the one on Padres Del Fuego.

never thought of that, I thought they were just for the Navy nice to know!

I used the Grape Shot, that worked. In fact it worked so well. I managed to get all 5, :mad: Of course when I went back to Doc Grog he will not complete the quest for me. :rolleyes:

I got all my giant crabs in the swamps of Tortuga, because I could never find one on the Island that Doc Grog told me to go to.

True enough; there aren't any crabs on that island. As was said, get the GIANT crabs in the swamp of Tortuga.

but, they are a lot more agressive lol
