"Not Enough Voodoo" / Conservation Bug

Not sure if the topic was brought up before. Tried searching throughout the site but didn't turn up anything.

It seems that when the game checks to see if you have enough voodoo to cast something (Doll or Staff) it doesn't take in account the passive skill "Conservation."

Conservation - Decreases Voodoo used by Voodoo Staff or Voodoo Doll by __% (where each dot represents 4%, max percentage is 20%)

I've tested this so far with Flaming Skull. Original casting cost of FS is 120 voodoo. With 5 dots in Conservation, the casting cost is lowered to 96 voodoo. Voodoo used when casting it is 96 voodoo but when my voodoo drops low, I cannot cast it again until I've reached at least 120 voodoo, anything lower and I get the "Not enough voodoo" message. So it looks like it's using the original casting cost to determine if there's enough voodoo to cast the hex.

I've submitted a bug report for it as if the casting cost is supposed to be 20% lower, it really should cast when I have at least the prerequisite voodoo.

Wow! Nice catch. I wouldn't have known, I don't have the conservation skill yet and I probably would never have noticed. That's something they should fix! :)

Sounds like, you have to HAVE the amount to use it, but it take reduces the amount actually used. Also, pump up your voodoo recovery... after a certain point - running out stopped becoming an issue.

Well, it that were the case, then they shouldn't advertise the casting cost on my skill tab as 96 voodoo (the number shown does go down as you place points into Conservation).

I have all of my Voodoo Staff passives maxxed out except for Spirit Mastery (which I have none in). When leveling staff with FS, it's pretty easy to run low on voodoo. At Notoriety 39 and Staff 22, that certain point of not running out of voodoo may come a little bit too late.

Little off-subject, but on test I had noticed that my voo-doo bar was consistently on empty & stayed there for quite awhile after logging on site. I reported it several times. Since my test pirate is Level 28, I don't have a staff yet. But this empty voodoo seems to have been fixed, now. The weird thing was that if other pirates pulled up my pirate card...my voodoo showed full health

That was a glitch for a while, that would randomly happen. You still do have full voodoo, it just won't appear so until you use a voodoo attack. Pulling out a staff, or in your case a doll, then using a simple move would "unlock" your voodoo bar.

I was leveling my staff a few minutes ago and my flaming skull is 100 voodoo. When I used it my voodoo went from 529 to 429. When I got down to 107 voodoo it told me that I needed more voodoo.

Hopefully they'll fix this.
