Can someone explain me..
 

Can someone explain me what's the deal with the teleportation between islands? I'm guessing you need to visit the island first in order to be able to teleport there but that's not working with me. Now it says something about a teleport totem, what is that?

It seems you need a teleport totem to be able to teleport between the major islands. But even so, I was able to teleport to Port Royal without a totem. Tortuga and Cuba I couldn't teleport to.

Even after I visited those islands, there was no teleport option.

I did the quest to get the teleport totem for Port Royal (even tho I didn't need it) and for Tortuga. So it seems there is a bug that gives us teleportation to Port Royal when we first start.

After I got the totem for Tortuga, I was able to teleport to Cuba as well. Strange.

where did you get the quest for totem?

The port royal totem, I got from Lucinda the gypsy, in front of the mansions gate. I think Tia Dalma sent me to her.

And the Tortuga one, Tia Dalma gave me that one.

I have the tortuga totem, but I haven't received the quest to teleport to cuba (if there is one). So right now I can only teleport to tortuga and port royal.

magicalnights, after I did the tortuga one, I opened my map and moused over cuba and saw that I had the option to teleport there. Probably is a bug, I dunno.

I keep trying to teleport to cuba but I still can't :( lol

Ah well. After I logged back, the option to teleport to Cuba was gone. Seems the fixed it. hehe

totem quests
 

There are quests that give you totems to teleport to each island. I have found that Tia Dalma gives you the teleport to Tortuga and Lucinda (gypsy) is the one that gives the quest for Port Royal. There are several parts to the quests: proving yourself to the island by killing certain enemies and then digging up an artifact to tie you to the island. YAY, I got to answer someone instead of only asking for help!!

I was digging all over Tortuga, and about the sixth try was outside the prission, turn right to the swamp next to the gators.
Came here looking for any other quests, 'cause sailing is just waaaay to slow. I rigg the keyboard and go do other stuff.

Rig the keyboard? Like get something to hold down the up arrow? I use the 'r" button to set sail and relax my fingers a bit, keeping an eye out for ships to sink while travelling.

Can anyone tell me if you can teleport to the smaller islands once you have all the totems for the big islands?

You still have to sail to the smaller islands.
