SaWeet! I hope they fixed the quest bug though...or maybe we weren't meant to finish it on test...either way...YAY!

1%...
5 minutes later.... 99%... 100%! Finally......
Piratesonline encountered an error and needed to close....
Oh great

Ships move WAAAAAY too fast. They are ridiculous speedboats zipping around out there!

I guess what I want to know is this--although the level cap was raised to 50 (except in Ben's case), the player cards show what our levels WOULD be if all of our rep that we would have gained fromn level 40, but our players are all strating out as level 40 with NO rep past 40.

So, which one they gonna go with?

Aye, it was very noticeable on Test. I may just dumb down my Windcatcher... A LOT. Thing is, I think I have points to spare anyway. Where am I going to put 5+ points as I level Sailing?? Need some new skills. Hate to just put them on skills to up my damage amounts.

Finally Live

Love the new update look on main - seems quite a bit carried over from test.

Since my level 40 pirate can earn points again, are there any new quests or weapons?

Thanks!

MacIronhawk 09-01-2009 02:07 PM

I do think boats are a bit... ok, way faster than they should be. In my opinion this is the developers screaming, "Don't complain about how long it takes to get to islands!"

Or it could be just a little hint that pirates will be expanding a bit and faster boats will be needed. Just guessing, but that's probably what I'd do if I was a developer.

Added: Hey, they said they fixed some bugs on test, but never gave the release notes. I hope they know what they're doing by not giving us information about bug fixes.

So now our test pirates go into mothballs until new updates are released to that site again? Geez, I'm beginning to forget which toon I am playing...

jason davy 09-01-2009 02:34 PM

Thanks Disney!! I can't wait to try out all the NEW content!! The new...erm...well...the new cave textures should really keep me entertained as I level the SAME weapons with the SAME skills for the SAME nonexistant purpose. You guys really outdid yourselves this time.

Oh, and thank you for letting me keep my rep! I am so glad the THOUSANDS of rep I got after level 40 didn't vanish!

Bartholomew Foulsteel 09-01-2009 02:39 PM

Well, actually, I'd rather have everybody start at zero rep at level 40. Think about it--there ARE pirates out there that will endd up being level 50 if all the rep carries over. It would be better for ALL if we just start from level 40. Otherwise, ANYBODY who has more points than just level 40 will be "cheated" out of being able to attain those points.

For example, if Invincible Warlord or Ben Dreadgull were to have all points carried over to level 50, that person could DO the Muertos quest, but couldn't reap the benefits of it. It would be like doing an empty quest.

However, if we all start at level 40, we now have something to work for. You know, what we've been complaining about?

jason davy 09-01-2009 02:53 PM

I would like to see my rep that I earned by mastering weapons. "Rep" gained by already mastered weapons should not be carried over.

Just wanted to let everyone know that with this update came a bug. I just noticed on live that the player friends list is not carring over to all my pirates. I sent a feedback in game.

Ok, just checked my main pirate and the list is gone from there too. So, as of right now we have one bug: player friends list not available.

Apparrently, we all ARE starting out at level 40 with zero rep. And, that is the way it should be. No MMORPG puts out an expansion and immediately gives credit for 'work done' after finishing the last level. I agree, most pirates hit level 40 and still had weapons and/or quests to do, and they went and did them. That extra 'rep' got counted, but doesn't "Count".
Besides, most of you would be upset to find out that you are level 50, and that you STILL have nothing to do or rep to earn!
The Player cards showing people at levels above level 40 are BUGGED, and should be reported as such.

As I was looking around the redesigned caves a dread scorpion spawned and right before he appeared the face of Jolly Roger was visible.

Also, this happened to me while in Thieve's Den....
