well either if you want to join a crew or make a crew hang out by the docks and ask people(but unless your friends its only temporary).people always want to put together a quick crew and set sail i know i do.

do you mean a crew or a guild? a crew is only connected as lonmg as members are signed into the game, once you signoff you lose your crew membership.

a Guild on the other hand stays with your character when you disconnect and reconnect.
