Calling All Testers
November 20, 2009

Pirates Online keeps getting better! And we need your help to test the latest update just released to the Test Server! If you have access to the Test Server log in now! If you don't have access, be patient - we'll be sending out more Test Server Invitations to players in good standing very soon. Plus, these great NEW FEATURES and other improvements are coming to the Live game very soon:
  • Ships and Sailing have undergone significant improvements. You may see a boost in performance while at sea and slight changes to ship design and sail animations, depending on your graphics settings.
  • Jolly Roger is now invading Tortuga. Pirates must keep Jolly Roger's undead skeleton army from invading Tortuga! We're running this event randomly several times a day but this is just for testing purposes. When the Invasions start in the Live game, Jolly Roger won't invade daily.
  • A new lighting and fog system gives more atmosphere to the environments based on the time of day

Tips for Surviving the Invasion:

- Divide and Conquer. Crew up then spread out to defend all the attack points. Jolly's army attacks the town from three locations: 1) The main dock 2) the bridge in the center of town and 3) Port Royal beach (where the shipwright Darby Drydock is located).
- Experiencing Lag? Close ALL programs beside Pirates Online, this includes any IM application or a web browser. Try a 'Quiet' or 'Ideal' server. Try lowering your graphics settings.

We're working to resolve known issues, but if you find any issue related to gameplay while on the Test Server please report them here.

I think Jolly roger will invade both places, but not sure.

As long as they don't make a mistake and make invasions happen on both islands at once, I'm happy.

If any of you are planning to do the Boss Battle, it is back to what it was a year ago. You recieve the same amount of damage :D.
I did it with a 4 person crew ( too many people results in a boot ), and we were in the red health zone!
The Goliath is beautiful, I would post a picture, but I don't know where the file is for the picture storage. But it's beautiful, BEAUTIFUL I TELL YOU. It takes a while to sink it, just like it did a year ago, and sails ( not just the supports, but the sheet on the sail as well ) can be shot and effected by Thunder, and other ammo. Also, The Goliath is no longer a Frigate, nor a Galleon or Sloop. She is a, kinda Cruiseship-looking ship. Be prepared, because she does NOT take major damage. You normally do this much much damage with one thunderbolt:
|-------------------------------------||
That was MY experience.
Undead ships have undergone a major update. The sails are better looking.
Knots now go higher. A War Sloop's Ramming Speed takes it to 21 knots!

The pictures are stored in a folder called screenshots. To access it, go to My Computer - Program Files (if u have an x86 folder, it may be in there) - Disney - pirates online test - screenshots

The Skirata Clan 11-30-2009 08:06 PM

I hope not, I really wish they test and fix the reported stuff. But knowing Disney releasing patterns they will release tomorrow.

Jamesvsthekraken 12-01-2009 06:46 PM

Yeah hopefully by then they will have fixed the MAC bug/glitch. I wonder when today though.. maybe later who knows?! :/ :)
