As I've said before, Pirates by their very nature collect stuff, so having more slots for storage, is definitely something Pirates could use, and of course that will mean new clothing, hats, and other items to accessorize your Pirate.
The Kraken. This beast has proved to be a real challenge. Why? Well, it is basically our next story chapter, many things will be tied to it, such as Notoriety increases, new Story Quests, and so much more. So we ask for a little more patience while the dev team wrangles the monster. I know, I know, we keep saying that - I promise you, the Kraken will be more than worth the wait.
New Content. Alright, I can't give away all our secrets - that would spoil the fun! But I can tell you our Crew of craftsmen, shipwrights, and blacksmiths are working on some amazing stuff and other surprises that are going to blow you out of the water!

So, first the inventory system is what's being done. Who wants to start making bets that the Kraken will be next, then new things from the craftsmen, shipwrights, and blacksmiths?

This is strictly speculation.

I think that might be how things play out, hopefully there won't be issues with newer releases such as the inventory.

Uuuh, about the Kraken, haven't they been saying that they are coming soon since the game was released??? We mght get new ship types layer though.

Just about, but remember, there's only(and this is just a guess from watching all of the developer vidoes) one guy working on animation. He has a lot of things going for him, and Kraken animation isn't just it.

All the new weapons in the inventory system with different animations had to come from him, so we can only imagine how long it has taken them to do the Kraken.

Also, if you look at the model picture of the Kraken, it's basically done. And that was months ago, so we can only imagine that any problems with the Kraken are the storyline(yes, storyline), and the boss battle for this baddy.

Personally, I'm going to wait to see what happens. If the second storyline and the Kraken come out a month or two after the inventory system, then I'll place bets that ship customization is on its' way.

Can we just let the Kraken go?

They've beta tested it, we've all seen screenshots and video bits. Obviously they've tried to make it work...

So, its either DONE and waiting for a new chapter to be ready or it's probably not going to see the light of day due to endless tweaking.

As positive as I try to be - the Kraken is something that I don't feel that positive about. However, I don't think the game HAS to have it.

Um... They have been saying this (read the post date on the Developers Diary) since APRIL 2009! And even THEN it was 'be patient' - Im in over $100 in patience, and I finally gave up. The new inventory system isnt worth it. Nor was the notor increase. How stupid - a notor increase with nothing to bring your level up but weapon grinding. Lovely.

I'm ok with the kraken not coming for a while, because all it is, is just shooting at a giant squid and with no strategy involved what-so-ever (well as far as I know).

And even IF the Kraken were to come into the game, even IF the crew over at Disney's has added the animations and textures to the Kraken, there's no set date as to when the Kraken will come. For all we know, it could come in the year 2023.

As stated, let's let the Kraken go. There are other things to worry about, such as the current problems - Speed glitch included - and the current issues with the Test Server.

Looking at the MAIN point of this thread, I would be surprised if it comes out next since there's still a bit to work on, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised either.

I believe they are going get everything in place before the 2nd chapter. The last thing they said they would do that hasn't been done, aside from the 2nd chapter and the kraken is ship customization. So my guess would be that ship customization comes next and then the 2nd chapter. The squid might be a boss battle.

I'm not all that concerned with the kraken either. I would hate to think that anything would be held up for it, it can't be worth it.
