Fair Winds, Lisa Pirates of the Caribbean Online Member Services __________________________________________________ ___ They said it will be in open water so its not going to be a treasure map game! I AM SO HAPPY that they are making it open water cause you know i wouldnt wanna work that long to fight the kraken like the black pearl boss battle you know what im saying? I hope this is good news to you guys. Garret |
Umm, they didn't say that they were gonna put it on open water, they said:

Personally, when/if it comes, I would want it to be on the open seas, and in a treasure map. The treasure map makes it feel more like you earned it, or at least someone did. If it was just on open seas, then it makes it feel more like the fleets, invasions, and that type of stuff. Kinda makes the quest seem pointless. None the less.. thanks for sharing. |
Yeah, Sven is right. All they are saying in essence is, "Yeah that would be cool." but nothing more. A little skepticism and close scrutiny is wise with any message from Disney.
Though I'm not as enthusiastic about the Kraken as many here, I'd prefer it as a treasure map event if for no other reason, if it is buggy it shouldn't mess up the whole game. But I appreciate your sharing this as well. |
Yeah, having it on a treasure map it wouldnt feel crowded cause everyone would be trying to defeat the kraken like they do with Jolly Roger on ideal servers. So i agree it should be a treasure map, i also recommended to them eventually making the invasions treasure maps to do for fun when there isnt an invasion and for people who cant make it on for them. They certainly liked that idea. :) lol. :laughks2::piratewheelgo2::bookishfj7:

Good idea James, that would make a great Guild activity.

I love Disney answers! They agreed with you. But didn't say if they were even working on it or thinking about it.
So yes, the kraken would be coming soon. And Please No More Kraken Threads! |
Aww I want it to be a Treasure Map boss. But you never know. It's not a true boss unless it's part of the story quest!!!
|
But there already is a Kraken in game :( -Points down at Signature-
Anyways, about Kraken's and stuff? I would rather prefer it be like the Black Pearl boss battle. Would be cool to have it come out after you once you set sail in the Uncharted Waters. |

*whipsers to himself* I'm getting sick of this giant squid by now...
Disney only says these things to make sure you stick with the game. They aren't guaranteeing the Kraken will be in Open Waters, or a Treasure Map. Heck, theres a possibility it won't be in game at all! You can't always try to look for hidden messages in the information Disney gives you, because sometimes, when a hidden message ISN'T intended, one person who "finds" one will go a bit overboard on spreading the "information." I really hate being a thief of joy here. But the wild speculation on the Kraken is getting just plain silly.
The letter from Disney in the OP only said one thing. Let me translate. Quote:

It would stonk if we had to do a quest? I am having problems with this. If the big, smelly squid-thing DOES show up? it had BETTER be a part of a long, arduous, thrill-packed, non-stop, action-filled, joy ride of a new quest. Otherwise? The Kraken is Dead On Arrival. |
|
If the Kraken were to be in the open seas, then, as mentioned by Jamesvsthekraken, it would be somewhat crowded, and having it in a Treasure Map would be better.
In fact, it'd probably be worse than what Toontown had to deal with in that room when you're ready to fight the VP - hard to be able to actually GET to fight the VP. So having the Kraken battle in a Treasure Map form would be a wiser choice as everyone's not crowding around. |
Thunder, you're right.
And in the server Nutty River, that's probably the most crowded area you could be in. In fact, some people can spend hours before they actually get a group and get to go into the battle. If the Kraken isn't a boss battle, what will end up happening is probably ten times as big as the EITC fleets. It will be so crowded you'll end up having possibly hundreds of ships around the monster just to fight him. |
Chapter* there fixed :D
