I was talking to someone and they we're able to type their own custom messages? How do you do so, I can't even type in the type box?

Thats strange, you should be able to hit the "enter" key and then type in the chat box.

Also you might have a "limited" account. At the character selection if in the top left it says account type limited you won't be able to talk.

It says unlimited.

Did you press "Enter" before you started typing??

Yep, I used to be able to but now I can't even get the box to become typeable.

Did you check your account to see if you have open chat?

At the log in screen, go to manage account, log in and click on the community settings tab. Make sure open chat is selected. :)

Also if you what to have a "Think" bubble like on Toontown put a "." before your message.

I am also having the same problem with the chat, but I can't change my chat options as it tells me I do not have permission to change them. Apparently my account and my daughter's account were mixed up, as she has full chat options and I only see "blah blah blah" when someone says something ingame. I'm trying to get it resolved thru support.
